I have yet to disagree with anything Piper teaches. I can truly say he teaches the Bible, correctly in all its truth. There are others that do the same, but none of them take the Sovereignty of God to the degree it needs to be taken according to what the Scripture demands. Piper does it without apology and I am so thankful for his teachings. I believe he is truly a messenger of God and goes into God’s Word, where most won’t. Thank you Mr Piper and most of all, thank you Father for opening our eyes to your absolute Truth. Never forget; only the true Biblical Jesus Saves. God bless🙏🏻✝️

Look at the very fine detail on the trivialities like the flowers, fruits, the nature and so on. Its just outta logic to say earth or even the universe just popped out without the design of an engineer or to be more specific, the Lord. Look at the heaing mechanism and all the things around us, only an expert designer and engineer could achieve such perfection. Just big bang is like saying that programs for Operating systems are coded by its own.(That was unnecessary, I know). So there!

The Bible says God created the world for His glory. What does that mean? So what if life sucks and you finally need God? Is he gonna let you suffer because your desire for him isn’t 100% because he’s awesome? There are many things I don’t understand

I believe we do it to our selves and just like a kid if we do something we get disciplined by our parents same with the world you do something and you have to pay consequences God allows us to go through it but he is not doing it to us the world/devil does, I had to get off my high horse I was on and realize if the people in the bible had to suffer why wouldn't I? It's not about suffering it's about how god got you through and someone else observing how you went through it in a godly manner will want to turn to God, sometimes we suffer for others to get a lesson not us, it's not about us, it's about God ❤️

Isn’t that the description of an ultimate narcissist? Our culture isn’t that far off from wanting “glory” and attention and praise for every little thing. Selfies and self praise galore....wanting likes, follows, etc. We were created to amuse and be at the mercy of someone who didn’t need us for anything...as he’s complete without us. So why do it? Why do you need glory and praise when you are already full aware of your glory and capacity? A being like that wouldn’t need to create people, to illuminate, to other people, his greatness. He could just be. He would be greatly secure in just that. But to create a game of sorts, to amuse oneself...a version of ‘the hunger games’ or some warped elaborate video game, just to prove you can...sounds more like an insecure, controlling, narcissistic, ego bound person. Additionally with knowing all....why would you create a tree of knowledge anyways (and create humans to be curious) ? That’s like putting a pile of candy, or worse guns in a room for children and say they can have anything but that...if they do that they’ll get in big trouble. Why set them up for failure?!?? As a parent, with more knowledge than my children...I give them kinder and more loving parameters, not ones that direct their demise when I could seeingly and knowingly prevent it! That’s like setting up a train wreck to be amused...like I’m bored and don’t truly care about anything other than my glory (and amusement). It also seems like free will is a farce. You don’t believe in a god you can’t understand...who seems like an enraged narcissistic bully in much of the Old Testament and you’ll end up in hell. You sign up to be a puppet to his whims which are all self directed & you’ll be fine. How’s it any different than a gun to one’s head. You don’t have a real choice. Being placed on earth, with a sinful nature and all the horrors too, isn’t anything any of us signed up for. We are just created and placed, willing or not. And why would a god have “chosen people”? Why can’t he truly love them equally? Instead he plays at a narrative with the promised land and chosen people at the epicenter to fulfill his dynamic and dramatic story line. We are mere pawns. Why too does death HAVE to be the answer? It’s not like anyone else came up with the rules of life...other than the creator. This rant of a sermon just reiterates this perplexing game we are all part of. Life seems pointless unless you chose to be some sort of pawn...and to avoid cognitive dissonance you convince yourself to not look deeper and that you’re happy about it. Or the fear of death is so great, you need anything , something to hang on to. I do love Jesus’ character in most of the New Testament. But again, why was death the key. Why so violent? Why have sacrifices at all? An animal that god created being killed to atone for a person?!? Are you kidding? And then just switch out Jesus later? I love the fruits of the spirit and kindness and love of 1 Corinthians 13...but it all seems light years from a god who would have had it with his creation, to have a do over (except for Noah and his family) That’s like me being so angry at my children.::I just decimate them out of frustration...maybe picking a favorite to stay. I don’t like the god of the Bible at all. I don’t like most of the confusing nature of it, the speaking in riddles... I try to be straightforward with my children, so they know what I expect....not play verbal-beat-around the-bush games. I want to believe in god...and i believe there is something more than me for sure. The world has some incredible beauty that causes me to know this..I just am not sure it’s he god from the Bible.

@@Alphacentauri819 Hey Enigma, wow I’m glad to hear a response from you! I know it’s only through text but my observation seems that your spirit seems much calmer now than it was from your initial comment. Personally, I am a Christian who committed their life fully to Christ at the beginning of this year. It was a long and difficult road but a beautiful one. Your initial comment encompasses all the same questions Christians struggle with on their walk, and I could literally feel your frustration as you were asking. Ive been through many evolutions of faith from atheist, to new age and the like…nothing comes close to where I’m at now in Christ. It’s a true relationship with the maker and creator of the universe that only evolves further with each day. With God, repentance and humility I think we’re the two biggest factors that lead to my growth. When I got to the point of committing myself to praying every day and studying the Bible from top to bottom in its context, within the first 2-3 days of that I had experienced the most dramatic change in my life and habits than I ever had in my life. I was released from addictions that I struggled with for years, and simultaneously was brought to an understanding of life that no other religion or belief system gave me. That’s just scratching the surface. I don’t want to make it sound romantic, but it’s hard not to when speaking on Christ. I can tell you that He loves you, truly loves you, even if you don’t know him or understand him enough yet. I was watching a video this morning that made me think of those questions you were asking: kzread.info/dash/bejne/iISN1Nhshru6lMY.html I don’t know for sure if any of this will help you in your journey. But I’m glad you took the time to hear me out anyways. If you have any more questions or need a prayer feel free to reach out anytime!

Quotes: "God created man in his own image...", "Why did god create the world?... for his glory." , "..why would he do it, so that nobody missed the point?", "Six billion statues to god"" All these points lead back to one sin, vanity. If man did not exist, who would be around to miss the point? Why was it so important for god to create man to reflect six billion statues for his glory if nobody was there to share that glory? Did he make man to make a point? It was the sin of pride which first led Eve to eat of the forbidden fruit. It seems man in god's image came with god's own flaws. "Six billion statues" - many of them prepared to go to war over their own belief of god's existence. We'll probably make the same mistake with machines when Artificial Intelligence becomes reality. If machines do learn to think for themselves and become self-aware. What will they think of god and man? Will we be their god? Why do we "really" create machines? Maybe there is a hint of truth to god's true plan in our own agenda.

God didn't make a mistake in creating the world, He gave us free-will, the ability to choose between right and wrong (the very thing that makes us different from robots). The flaw is not with God nor even God's design, He made us perfect, the problem is humans have chosen to go their own way and carve out their own destiny apart from God and when that happens, God's perfect design became flawed, alot of people like to blame God for that but we have no one to blame but ourselves. The entire message of the Bible and Christianity is how God has been working since we first stumbled and messed up to bring us back to Himself. God created us because He wanted us to share in His joy and glory forever!

The point is whatever you achieve in life is insignificant, because the Glory of God comes first. We must do all we can to glorify His name. We must do all we can to deny ourselves and point to Him! GachaGirl PlaysMusicVideo You gave an emotional answer as to why he did. The question isn’t asking that. The question being asked is why did God create the universe from a practical standpoint. The sentiment of love isn’t involved in the question. The extended question being asked here would more be along the lines of ‘Why did God bother to make anything when he didn’t need to?’ We don’t matter. We aren’t necessary, we aren’t needed. Nor does creation matter. So why create something that doesn’t matter? That’s the question.

It offends you because you think God is obliged to create for the sake of your happiness and not for the display of his own glory. What does God owe anyone? What does everyone owe God? What rights do you have? What are the rights of God? Saying that all things work for the good of those that love him according to his purposes. You are not in a position to question God you are totally at his mercy. I know that probably won't stop you. The Father first loves the Son and the rest is the overflow.

I am a man seeking faith. I understand that God created people so that they can benefit from his glory, and to benefit from his glory, you simply have to worship and believe in his existence. what I don't get is when it comes to people who don't believe in him, getting condemned for that, like being sent to hell in the after life. He chose to create us to benefit from his glory, I understand that. But why does one need to surfer for choosing not to benefit from that glory. Because if He didn't create you in the first place, you wouldn't have to struggle in trying to believe in his existence, let alone suffering in the afterlife for never believing in His existence.

Mrtoby9999 God created the world for his ultimate glory like John says in the beginning of this sermon. The reason behind God allowing Satan to have such a long leash is to further his glory, BUT when I say that it means that when someone comes from pain Jesus is the all mighty healer. The thing is many people don't know that Christ can love us so much. People are too afraid to go to the dark places and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. That's why these things happen you don't think God cringes

What Gospel did Jesus preached? The true gospel talks about the Kingdom of God. Luke 4:43 "I must preach the Kingdom of God to the other cities also, for I was sent for this purpose." Matt 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom (NOT the Bible; NOT Jesus; NOT his Resurrection nor the Cross) will be proclaimed throughout the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." Luke 9:2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God,...。 Luke 16:16 Since that time, the good news of the kingdom of God is being preached, There's ONLY one true Gospel...that is the Kingdom of God. All churches in the world have preached the wrong Gospel...Paul preached the wrong gospel.

Maybe the greatest oversight in this sermon was omitting the giving of an explicit definition of the word "Grace". Unchurched people very likely have no idea of what is meant by it in this context. It does not refer to elegance or refinement or courtesy. Most simply, *Grace = unmerited favor.* It differs from mercy. Mercy is when you don't get the bad thing you deserve. If a policeman or a judge extends mercy to you, you are not going to get the punishment your actions deserve. *Grace is being given mercy.* You don't deserve mercy but are nevertheless offered it. Mercy is never deserved or it wouldn't be mercy.

In our ignorance we have been taught that God created the world. But when we look about… death and destruction… starvation and poverty… and even natural disasters… we look and say: "well, how is God loving, if this is the destruction, the death and the separation that we all face?" Our loved ones dying, our children passing away before their time - surely God is an insane God if He created this?! And this is what Jesus wanted us to understand - is that the world is not created by God, all-powerful, all-loving, for if it was, it would not look this way. Things would not depend on other things to die for them to survive. Everything would not be separated from us, our loved ones, our children. All sorts of things are going on in our lives that demonstrate a lack of Love, and if everything was created by God... who is all-loving... then we would not experience this, and that is what our clue is that this is not the real world - this is NOT God's world. This is the playground of the ego (the devil or Satan). This is where all of our idols… our lusts… our wants and needs… and fears… play out in front of us so that we can see them. And this is why it is so important for us to begin to comprehend the magnitude of the "projection" that is happening. It is not just us laying our feelings on someone else, this is a level of projection that many modern Beings are beginning to understand - that we are responsible for our own feelings. But the whole thing is a projection, the whole thing is a giant projection from the collective awareness of all of us. Yes, some of us share the same dreams… the same nightmares… but we are the one that is in charge of OUR projector… and OUR experience… and OUR ownership of that which is called life for this planet Earth here.

Everything good comes from God! Why is it that when your child starts developing, 1, 2 years old and so forth, that you CONSTANTLY hafta teach them to be nice, and to share things, and to not slap, bite or hit other children??? That basically explains being born in sin, with a true sin nature!!! Ita all in the Bible folks, check into it sometime!!

As an academic and a Christian, it's difficult to accept this kind of an answer. In essence you're saying He created the world so we'd create "reflections and images of ourselves"--so He could glorify and look at Himself? Raising your voice and gesticulating also doesn't add anything compelling to the argument--at least not in a practical or intellectual sense; this is why atheists think we're ignorant and emotional fools. Personally, I believe the true explanation transcends the abilities of human comprehension. Merely stating "it is for His glory" repeatedly limits the answer to a solely biblical perspective.

The location forms valuable indigenous crystal formations. Local. God built by selling the electrical parts that he owned, while and before they formed, so that they could be used. Retrieval of the parts, that are already sold, has to be done secretly because, of the other crystal parts that live there. Very important, that harmony or harmonics remain stable and without disruption. Else, the entire business would crumble away; as geometry and existence are coefficients of one another. The world is a multiple orthodoxy curriculum only. Many love school: Even those that fail at it. The retrieval of certain words collect, with accuracy. The Bible translations can't express the loud shit that earth is accurately. Peace is a heaven. cJT

If God created the whole universe why did Noah have to build the ark? You would think God would have had a plan to save creation no? I mean sure things tell a story of a creator because if it's infinite precisions but to make Noah labour for 100 yrs to build a boat to save all animals??? I don't get it... God is limited by boat building? Couldn't God have just snapped his fingers?

In the Old Testament, when God started to reveal Himself to the world He chose one nation in the world by which to reveal Himself, in this nation, the Messiah, Jesus came to be the Savior of the whole world. Jesus came to reconcile the entire world and all the nations to God, Israel was the means by which God's covenant would come to the world through the birth of the Messiah. Of course there is only One God and He is Lord over all the nations!

We are on earth to learn , and to learn from a polarity between darkness and light . Then we all go home back to heaven for eternal life in happiness . Life has purpose all that we see in our world is for a purpose and fkr our higher learning .

No, it does not offend me because I think God is obliged to create for the sake of my happiness and you're correct, if God is all powerfull then we perhaps have no rights but this is irrelevant. All I can do is look at the world and try to make sense of it. I must use reason to choose between the options, Islam, Christianity, Atheism etc. There is no other way. The bottom line is that you are condoning violence and suffering by saying that God can do as he wishes. You must know that is wrong.

Yes, I did watch but I found it rather offensive to hear one speaking about the glory of god so enthusiastically when there is so much suffering that could be ended in an instant by an all powerfull God. I was a Christian for 30+ years but I now find it impossible to accept that the biblical version of God could possibly be real. How could a loving God intentionally create this world knowing in advance that there would be such misery in it and then allow it to continue?

  • @toniduval4350

From a secular standpoint, you can logically deduce it is better to exist in misery instead of not exist at all. It is better still to exist happily instead of exist in misery. According to the Bible, God brought us all into existence and makes it so we live forever in either Hell or Heaven. It's a process that's allowed to continue in order to give meaning to our existence. For a person "going through hell" it's hard to see this process as good, but on the grand scheme of things it's a great setup.

Are you saying he created us for the glory of himself? He wanted to create images of himself? What’s the point? Why would he need that? Is he lonely? Please explain I don’t understand. Why is it about him? Why does he need us? If he is teaching us about being selfless and kind to other why would he want us to glorify him or praise him. He can’t want us to worship him. He doesn’t need us. Unless, unless God isn’t a person, rather God is an ideal or a way, or a truth or a life so I just now realized that God really isn’t a person or a being but rather an ideal that we should strive for. That’s I say to you, God is nature God is the universe. God is everything physical. What does nature do it gives. The skies give rain and sunlight to the plants. The plants give nourishment and shelter to the birds and animals. the water quenches thirst of the animals. the animals give Their lives for food to other animals the rocks in the mountains give a landscape for us to walk on and on and on and on God is not a person or a thing or an engineer. However, I present to you that God is everything that is this ideal of giving . That’s all he wants from us is to give, give of ourselves. Give of our time our love or kindness. And then in return we are giving to the universe what it’s so desires and what it gives back to us. Jesus is only an ideal brought to life. the son of the greatest ideal. The Bible was written in this manner of father and son and children, etc. for us to understand. But I believe that our God is actually a thought and that thought lives in all of us and we know what it is from the moment we’re born its goodness and kindness, and giving and loving, just like nature is . In other words God is in us from birth. Thoughts?

You got the wrong idea. God is above the Universe. God is uncreated, eternal. The rest is created! Uncreated is fixed unchangeable, created is flexible, changeable. We are Creation together with the Universe and the unseen world is also Creation, angels and all. God's Trinity is uncreated. Now the Catholics and Protestants believe Grace is created, because reasons. Orthodox Christians believe Grace is uncreated because Grace is Grace it does not become something else, it's fixed! So at least don't fall into the New Age Universe is God mumbo jumbo bs.

Then they would be fools. But in any case, it would be more correct to say that they believe they worship the author of it. In the final analysis there is insufficient evidence to conclude that the bible is in any way authored by God. To the contrary, the evidence we do have indicates that the Bible was written by men and compiled into a canon by the church, another group of men.

O foolish man, God of the Bible (Tet·ra·gram·ma·ton) did not create "everything". To know that, one needs to be aware of what is called "Symbolical Language of Scripture", words that represent symbols, which have a completely separate and often opposite meaning than their literal sense, and that the Bible is a legal document, thus, the first time a word is defined it is understood to mean the same thing throughout the entire document. Therefore, in legal fashion, we can apply the Maxim of Law "He who writes interprets" for a proper translation. After all, if the Bible says a word means that, who are we to come up with our own interpretation according to what we think or hope it means? With that said, we can proceed to interpret ĠĔN' Ĕ - SĬŚ. 1, according to said exact definitions of words in the Symbolical Language of Scripture chapter of the Bible itself. The first chapter of Genie-sis is presumed to be about God creating the cosmos, our planet, oceans, marine animals, fish, continents, birds, reptiles, mammals, insects, plants, and man; that is simply not so, such preconceived notions are based predominantly upon what is written in Ge 1: 1 and 1: 26 and 1: 31, wherein “Symbolical Language” runs rampant from the beginning, wherefore, heaven and earth are both symbols, hence, neither one of them are capitalized as proper nouns, nor are they accented, hyphenated or syllabified as names or titles; to wit; heaven is defined as "A position of power", and earth is a condition "A people in a state of submission involved in idolatry and apostacy". Earth’s designation as “A people” is evidenced in verses such as “the first earth were passed away; Re 21:1, and “earth have seen the salvation of our God. Ps 98:3. Thus, earth is neither the planet nor the world, that is established by the use of both earth and world in the same sentence, thereby a distinction is made between the two. Job 37: 12 and Ps 90: 2. God did not create the species of man either, that is evidenced in Ge 1: 26, wherein the God(s) propose "let us make a man in our image, in "our" likeness"; now, we know that "God is not a man" Nu 23: 19, and that "God is a spirit" Joh 4: 24, and we know that there's a big difference between the words "create" and "make/form"; whereas, to "create", is to bring into existence that which did not exist before, and to “make or form”, is to build, produce, fabricate or “generate”, which imply the use of pre existing materials, much like one would “generate” electricity; for example: “The generation of Jesus Christ” M’t 1:1, refers to his genealogy and means the “making” thereof or “production by artificial process”; thus, a man in the image of the God(s) is a Holy spirit/a ghost, a disembodied spirit which relies on and exists within a technological device (the Tet or Tetragrammaton) and requires a host body to exist in the physical realm, like they do (the Gods), “for a spirit hath not flesh and bones,” Lu 24:39; thus in Ge 1: 27, we see that kind of man being created (mankind), and as aforementioned, in Ge 2:3 both “created” and “made “ are used in the same sentence “all his work which God created and made” clarifying that some things were created, and some things were made. Further proof that God did not create all men comes from the “Apocryphon of John” of the Nag Hammadi Library, wherein the first man God created asks God, “If I am the first man you created, where are all the other ones from?” God answers “They were here before you”. God does not claim to have created “everything”, that notion is primarily based on misinterpretation of what is said in Ge. 1: 1, wherein heaven and earth are presumed to be “everything”, and Ge 1: 31 wherein “God saw every thing that he had "made” , whereof, the English language tells us that "every" "thing" (two words) is not the same as "everything" (one word) which is all encompassing, an absolute. For example: “Every” “thing” I make, is nether “everything” that exists, nor necessarily something created; same principal applies to Ge 1: 31, and “any”“thing”, “some”“thing”, “no”“thing”, etc. *Note: Many revised versions erroneously write “everything” as one word in Ge 1: 31. Knowing the symbolic meanings of certain words is the single most important key element required to properly interpret the scriptures: (so ye take not things out of context) The 2 reference texts and Bible listed below all concur in defining the Symbolical Language : 1] Charles Daubuz, A Symbolical Dictionary 1843 Nisbet and Company London 2] Interpreting the Symbols and Types, Kevin J Conner, 1992 City Christian Publishing 3] King James Bible, COMPREHENSIVE TEACHERS EDITION, BAGSTER; Comprehensive Helps to Bible Study, Chapter XL P. 136 - 139 SYMBOLICAL LANGUAGE OF SCRIPTURE For much more about this topic, send a reply.

2222pauline, I just read you post. First I don't know why you stated what you have since this teaching is on the "Glory of God Let me correct you since you want to believe that is not Triune. First the word "myself is not in the original manuscripts. But even if it was there it would mean Elohim. Refer you Gen. 1 Elohim said, let's make man in our image. The word our is not there bu can be infered because of the word for God Elohim. Which means; 'elohiymel-o-heem' plural of ''elowahh' (433); gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative:--angels, X exceeding, God (gods)(-dess, -ly), X (very) great, judges, X mighty. Not sure why you stated I Tim 3:16 but verse says God[c] was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. Heb 1:3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His nature, upholding all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. Proverbs 3 “The Lord possessed me at the beginning of His way, Before His works of old. 23 I have been established from everlasting, From the beginning, before there was ever an earth. 24 When there were no depths I was brought forth, When there were no fountains abounding with water. 25 Before the mountains were settled, Before the hills, I was brought forth; 26 While as yet He had not made the earth or the fields, Or the primal dust of the world. 27 When He prepared the heavens, I was there, When He drew a circle on the face of the deep, 28 When He established the clouds above, When He strengthened the fountains of the deep, 29 When He assigned to the sea its limit, So that the waters would not transgress His command, When He marked out the foundations of the earth, 30 Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman;[b] And I was daily His delight, Rejoicing always before Him, 31 Rejoicing in His inhabited world, And my delight was with the sons of men. 32 “Now therefore, listen to me, my children, For blessed are those who keep my ways. 33 Hear instruction and be wise, And do not disdain it. 34 Blessed is the man who listens to me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at the posts of my doors. 35 For whoever finds me finds life, And obtains favor from the Lord; 36 But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; All those who hate me love death.” John 14:9 Jesus replied, “Philip, I have been with you all this time, and still you do not know Me? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have told you. 27Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.… John 14:26 "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."3 I hope this has enlightened you to the Truth about the Triune God

@@danieldanciu1821 then how we came? God created us? Tell me who created god? How he came into existence? My answer is clear no one created universe. The universe came into existence on its own and life like us originated within it which made beliefs like there's god who made us all and everything. There's no heaven no hell, no god controlling this world. It's a unfair messed up world. Truth of life.

crazy maniac so you are saying we came from nothing for example if I leave a cup empty overnight and come the next day would I find something in it? The answer is no. Because it stays empty until someone puts something in it same as the universe it can’t come from nothing someone has to make it .May God guide you to the straight path Amen 🙏

@@iwaswithyourmom9410 The comment was meant to get you to think about what you mean by proof. Do you require proof for the existence of anything that you perceive now? It is lacking. Have you ever been to Fiji? If not, do you think it exists and if so, why? Please don't tell me that it could be proved, as that presupposes that it does exist.

It's absurd and irrational to reject god's existence. Rejecting god is like believing in flat earth.

Such a useless speech.. at least philosophers try to give a serious attempt at answering this question, this was just pure stupidity.
