Yeah. He’s too good a bad villain to let go. Palpatine was supposed to be dead, too. Nobody truly dies in sci-fi; great story-telling devices have a life of their own.

I thought we would see Todo coming to get him after the credits. Cad was one of the best parts of this show and it would be crazy if they killed him. Hoping we will get to see him in the Obi-Wan show

Didn’t Cad blow up Todo in the Jedi Temple robbery?

I thought for sure Cad Bane was going to be the one in the bacta tank. That would make for a really interesting second season where we could see some more between the two of them. It also would have been great character development for Boba Fett to not let him die. Cobb Vanth is cool but him being alive basically makes Cad Banes entire part in Boba Fett pointless. He was in two episodes and had no long lasting impact now.

The beeping on the chest monitor could just be due to it no longer reading Cad Bane's heartbeat, like how modern heart monitors can detect when a patient flatlines. We have no way of knowing for sure until we get more conclusive evidence either way.

Star Wars does appear to have an issue with people dying. My issue is i read almost all of the books, watched the clone wars, rebels and all those series so im starting to have a hard time figuring out who died when. But people like Han, Lea and Luke they just flat out killed off

Han, Leia, Luke were killed because their actors were old and they presumably wanted to wrap up their story. Makes sense to me. In some ways, Cad Bane death makes sense as well - to wrap up the story of the 100-year old bounty hunter. I just do not like that he did not get enough screen time. Could've included him more from earlier episodes - because currently all he had was an introduction episode and then death episode.

NO BLOOD. Duros have green blood. Cad Bane was stabbed in his respirator, not a vital organ. On the following scene, you can see the end of the gaffe also has no green blood on it.

Man I absolutely love how Star Wars fans just have to reach with everything to make it fit what they want. I have a suggestion take what they give you enjoy it or not and leave it alone.

Blink and you'll miss it, but at 46: 16 of the episode, after Boba pulls the gaffi stick out, the tip is clearly bent. What could have caused that? Did he hit Cad Bane in concealed armor and not penetrate as far as he thought...?

Nice catch, it is bent in one post stabbing shot, but it’s also straight in two others. So i don’t think it was intentional. Just prop failure missed in editing. The start of the blinking does look intentional though. I think we’ll see Cad again.

I hope Cad comes back. He's too cool of a character to just kill off like that. Hopefully that signal was being sent to Todo his Droid.

I don’t think it’s a beacon. More likely it’s an artificial heart that is activated that keeps him alive til he can get a heart transplant!

The issue I’m having with this, is that it wasn’t set as an off-screen death or in the middle of nowhere. Boba "killed" Cad Bane in the middle of the street in Mos Espa, with witness all around that could see the dead body laying on the ground. Him staying there for quite some time for everyone to see and then reappearing in the future really doesn’t make any sense. If they really intended to keep him alive they should’ve used another set-up.

Just sad that they did not give him more screen time. Would've made the send off more epic. Did not also like the death of the Gamorrean guards. At least if one falls off, give the second one one final epic axe hit scene to revenge his brother before dying himself. Instead they just fall and the scene is cut off momentarily. A warrior's death, a good wrap up to their short story.

I hope they bring him back in season 2 as the big main villain or at least a larger character than he was. They did him dirty in boba just by not using him enough. He was a huge part of bobas life, I like the small call backs they made but still

I feel like the beeping was more like a "loss of blood" warning. Its like the life status thing on bobas armor I think. As cad was living breathing etc, It wasn't blinking but after he was stabbed, it started to beep, I think indicating that hes dying. Theres also no way todo could nurse him back, Its a droid that can barely lift a lightsaber and its in the middle of streets of mos espa, if the civilians saw a droid trying to revive the man that tried to destroy their city, they likely wouldn't take too kindly to it.

I hate to admit it, but you’re right. We just have to accept the fact that Cad Bane is dead. May he Rest In Peace. Besides Todo is not such a bad guy, he is just wildly misunderstood. In episode 9 of The bad batch bounty lost Omega trick Todo so she could escape, but while doing it she help him fix his leg after Hunter damage it. Cad Bane doesn’t care about Todo, he sees him as a tool to be used for his bounty hunting business. He could have come back for him after he used him as a bomb, but no, Anakin Skywalker fix him to find out more information about Bane and he escaped and reunited with him. In Bounty lost he ignored Todo completely after he was asking him to fix his leg. omega on the other hand wanted to help Todo and then she did, she even pointed out that Cad Bane doesn’t treat him well. Todo then said that his leg feels brand new before Omega turn him off. I can see Todo turning against Bane and joining Omega and the bad batch. He could even be friends with AZI-3 and gonky. That’s just my opinion but I would like to see what you think.

I personally believe he's alive and will eventually die by the hands of a healed Cobb Vanth. I agree that little details matter and if Cobb Vanth didn't worry/look at the deputy then the dual would've ended differently and then we wouldn't have this fight between Boba Fett and Cad Bane in the finally. So in my eyes them showing Cobb Vanth in the end credits shows that he's going to have his redemption dual and this time end up on top. I'm honestly surprised no one is talking about this

See I think this goes even way deeper than any of this. I believe that fett knows cad's biology And I believe that he knows full well that him stabbing bane in the chest did nothing except incapacitate him. His remember CAD was trying to convince fett that he was a killer and I don't think that fett was willing to give in to that even at that moment when he was above bane for the kill shot. There is nothing to say anywhere that I know that the species that Bane is has the exact biology that humans do where fett stabbed him in the chest where the heart would be if he was a human we can't make that assumption. I believe that fett knows this full well he knows that he did not kill bane. I believe that that whole scene between those 2 was a lot deeper than anyone is giving it credit for that I've read so far.

With these new series it is becoming more and more evident that if you don't see a character completely disintegrated or burned away, he's not dead.

I think he’s definitely coming back… lightening his skin wasn’t an accident, and my thinking after seeing this, is that this is likely to differentiate him from Thrawn. They wanted Cad Banes fate to be mysterious and fuel fan speculation. They kinda had to show Cobb Vanth in the tank because they hint at his possible survival in the episode previous and vaguely referenced it twice in this episode. The weequay bartender suggests Cobb didn’t make it, then Boba mentions the tank being full and the only other person we know to be in queue ahead of Boba for the tank is up and healed eating fruit in the very final shot. Now this is me purely speculating, but I think this post-credits is actually serving to swap out Cara Dune with Cobb Vanth as the potential lead for Rangers of the New Republic.

Max level copium. They went out of their way to show that he is in fact dead. There is no ambiguity. well.. it kind of fits the story for either boba or cad to die to the other one in a duel/fight. so ... if he's dead ... no problem. but i think alot of people dont want him to die and since its disney where no laserbeam seems to fataly hit ever (or is on target even). he will be back i bet.

It makes sense that he's still alive for all the reasons you mentioned. Also, they showed Fennec's injury and surgery at the beginning and I was wondering how was that necessary, as we, probably, already knew enough about that. I thought that maybe she would show those implants to the mod kids and earn their respect or something, but that didn't go that way (or so I recall). Then pretty much right after they "killed" Cad Bane, after the credits, we see Cobb Vanth getting the same treatment from the doctor/engineer that helped Fennec. That last scene looked to me like the writers telling us someone else could come back too. I'm honestly not so sure how I feel about this decision, it looks like plot armor or a strategy to sell more toys and digital stuff based on another fan favorite character. Don't get me wrong, I think Cad is an awesome character from top to bottom and it's a bit odd to simply show him in 2 (?) episodes and then kill him off, someone with so much back story untold! But my point is, if you don't really want to kill him, maybe don't? otherwise it feels as if Disney were really trying to betray the audience every time someone dies (unless they are troopers or other minions). It's almost like you can forget every time a relevant character dies or not watch those episodes at all. At this rate, Disney can kill Grogu and revive him, no problem... Wait, in a way, they kind of did that too by bringing him back to Mando!

I hope Cad Bane be alive. That chatacter was so good in all of the star wars animated series & he deserves better, he is a fan fav & cannot be missed. After all, his toothpick is missing in live action. Hope that beep is a sigh that he is alive.

the emperor fell into a space station reactor, then blew up into force matter, then the space station exploded. He was alive. Darth Maul got his legs chopped off and fell down a pit. Alive. Fennec got shot point blank in the stomach and left for about 4 hours to bleed out. Alive. Cad Bane got stabbed once in the chest by a staff. Hes alive lmao

He survived a fight with fuc*ing two Jedi Masters and does it damn well, and I don't believe that his legacy is over yet

I doubt Cad Bane would’ve survived Mace Windus lightsaber chopping his head off. I always hated that George killed Jango Fett in one movie!

@@LordBaldur if they wanted to send clear messege that the dude is dead for good, not mortaly wounded or smth, they would ve specificaly showed how this light stoped blinking and heartbeat cut off, or they just wouldn't ve bothered with all that heart monitor/heartbeat thing in the first place. But they obviously wanted to make this a point of emphasis saying: "Look, viewers! the light is blinking! we didn't kill off this beloved character (he might come back, depending on feedback)"

5:45 Should be noted that people typically die in SW if left untreated because energy weapons do catastrophic damage to the impact area and things around it. Fennec had to have her entire abdominal cavity removed and replaced with cybernetics from a single shot... she 100% would have died if not for Boba. Can assume that people go into shock from the pain of getting hit by a energy weapon and that's why most just drop, but some can keep going until they get filled with shots. The sheriff is probably getting an entire cybernetic arm from being shot in the shoulder and possibly a lung.

He is totally alive and I think you nailed it, we needed that post credit scene with him also getting fixed up.

I would like to see Cad Bane come back as an anti-hero of sorts. We do know that he has that potential in him, with his code of honor, he helped Obi-Wan once because the unfair fight set up against Obi-wan disgusted him.

If they bring Cad Bane back from the dead, Id rather them bring Ventress back from the dead. I don’t need more Cad Bane, I need more Ventress. I just want to see her be represented in live action and get the much deserved return.

My dad would be sooo happy if Cad Bane is still alive. He never saw the cartoons, so BoBF is his first exposure to Cad, and left a really good mark on him.

I think we are going to have a sort of similar plot structure in Book 2 with some flashbacks sprinkled early on that elaborates on Boba's relationship with Cad Bane, maybe emphasizing his need to be prepared for the unexpected, culminating in Cad Bane's "surprise" return as a mid-series twist, and Bane's employers would be the real twist later on.

I wanted so much to see Todo in live action along with Cad Bane’s other weapons, I was disappointed his last battle was 10% of the battle with obi-wan and Voss. I’m near certain we’ll see him, but it may only be pre-book of bobafet rather than after. Or maybe Todo will seek vengeance and fight boba on his own in season 2

I’m hopeful after seeing this video. Cad Bane was the best thing in BoBF. The start of the blinking does look intentional and there is usually a reason for such details from Filoni/Favreau.

I hope he is still alive, I think he is just one of the greatest characters in Star Wars.

I like Cad Bane and all I think he’s one of the best bounty hunters of all time but he’s definitely dead cause not only is he like maybe 70 years old plus his species doesn’t even live that long and he got most of his ribs broken theirs no doubt about that.

Cad Bane is cyberneticly built better to fight Jedi than Grievious

"No one can truly die" Except you know. All those guys that died. Brutally.

I don't think the plot of the season requires more from Cad, but for the universe as a whole, he's too special to go out like that. He's too big a character to only have two episodes and die without using any of the tactics that make him a crowd favorite and heavy contender. I want him to come back - hopefully after a full make over to fix his color/nose. That said, the Tusken raider staff was very well established - kind of a Chekhov's gun, so the moment may have been intended to be more dramatic than it played out it such a dynamic episode. It's a shame he didn't get to use the Tusken staff to stab the leader of the syndicate.

Cad Bane is the ultimate kick-butt anti-hero of all the Star Wars time, one of my new favourite characters he is way too dangerous of a character to just fade away, I hope he turns good, he is just way too cool to die so easy, they could have did a little better but he will upgrade himself and be back in his bounty hunting business, I thought Darth Maul was an amazing character this guy is the best new wicked hero would love to see him really flex his pistons and muscle and uber hydrolics, he is FOREVERMORE. he can never die, unless you destroy his blue scripts, very Star Wars. keep them rolling!

The gaffee stick has that sharp bend on the tip that, (as boba so beautifully demonstrates) you twist back and forth once you’ve stabbed into someone’s guts to cause catastrophic internal organ damage.

I saw that beeper and instantly thought he was still alive. It could be a beeken but I think it also is an automatic stim pack that gets injected into him. It might also disperse a repair agent to stop the internal bleeding and keep him alive longer to get into the backta tank. Also if you think about force lightning technique stops your heart so it might also be a defibulizor as well.

I certainly hope he is alive. Definitely one of my favorite characters to boot. Super versatile with a mysterious facade but carries a code of honor which is highly respected.!!

I don't know what character you've been observing but Cad is no honorable being. Arrogant & pragmatic are the two best descriptors for him.

Cob Vanth was shot in the shoulder. Much different then being stabbed in the stomach.

Not necessarily. Cad Bane was also in the Bad Batch, which has a new season coming up soon. I could easily see him returning to try and capture Omega again. And that show takes place before Empire times, when Cad was in his prime.

The consistent tendency in Star Wars (especially Disney's version of Star Wars) is that the villains don't die very easily, so Cad Bane was in essence "dying" but he has most likely survived his encounter with Boba Fett.

This makes sense because we know that Disney retconned Toto’s death when he was blown up in the Jedi temple in the clone wars series and yet he was still around during the bad batch!

It's sad when people can't accept that the Tatooine Retirement Plan never fails. I mean I'll give you that it's outside chance but it's like how people were predicting Mace Windu would be in the finale and can't accept that man is either deep in the bowels of Coruscant AS A CORPSE. this show was more focused in kids, so yes. no blood, no gamorians fighting, no deaths.

I think he will show up either in Ahsoka, Kenobi, or both because he was a huge part of both of their characters' development during the Clone Wars: almost venting Ahsoka, and The Box Arc for Kenobi, which is where we see him first seriously questioning the Jedi order

You are mistaken about Bane surpassing the Fetts. Cad Bane was not regarded as the best during the prime of either Fett. Theres a reason for that. Also, Fett defeated Bane alone in a duel. That is a canon fact, not an opinion. The biggest part about bounty hunting is lethality and either Fett can kill Bane far easier than the other way around.

@@oakous same with Jango. Hell that’s why Palpatine chose him in the first place. He killed 3 Jedi with his own fists. Boba never really got to fight any Jedi due to them being wiped out. But there is definitely a reason why the empire usually only relied on boba.

For everyone who says Bane is alive, I say you forget what planet we are on! Bane is one of many injured Pyke sympathizers lying in the street, unable to protect himself. The Scavengers don't care if you are alive, dying or dead. Bane is gonna be 'parted out'...you get more money that way.

I really would have thought the “heart monitor” could possibly be a second mechanical heart or a sort of life support.

I was upset that todo didn’t show up but it’s cool to know we’ll probably see him in the future

What would be cool is if he was somehow included in the Ahsoka series, or even Andor, or some other series we have not considered. He’s been around. And if he’s a bounty hunter, he could’ve been sent to locate and collect Ezra Bridger or Sabine Ren. So it’s entirely possible we could see him in either a series set in the recent past, or include him in the future of the Star Wars universe. But please, we brought back Maul, we brought back Boba. Bring this dude back man. Cmon. He’s too good. Would be cool if Cobb Vanth has another run in with him in the future. That would be just like a Clint Eastwood movie. I’m telling you, A Fistfull of Dollars set in the Star Wars universe would be DOPE!
