I have both Indiana Jones sets you showed, and that Toyfare Daredevil. I also have the Toyfare Lara Croft in flying jacket figure. Ordered it, completely forgot about it, then one day it just appeared on my doorstep. Those were such fun times.

All of that makes sense as to why they don’t use baggies in retail. What I wanna know is why don’t more companies, especially the big companies do mail-away? Why don’t companies offer that option of plain packaging like a white box or Ziploc bag as a less expensive alternative to complete packaging with clamshell and Boxart?

Hasbro made such deal out of their packaging but still packaging. I would like to see more simpler packaging cause all I want is the toy and instructions. I order online as it is. I totally see how packaging sells the toy. It does give it presence. What was with the whole windowless packaging?

...did the the guy who sent in the question actually say he was asking about mailaways? I'd assume he just meant rack toys that were sold in bags with the cardboard header.

Sort of connected: what are the laws regarding the art on bootlegs and knock offs? Over the years I've seen some cool edits of DC and Marvel characters, but does that mean that that art is Public Domain? Do those alternate characters ever have actual backstories? Just wondering.
