Speaking of "perceived value," I think it would be cool to see a video by you on package design and good/bad designs affect perceived value and sales. Things like branding and points of engagement along with other things would be really interesting especially given your experiences. At one point in time, I wanted to be a package designer. Thusly, I'm typically a "mint in box" collector.

The Transformers Generations Selects line probably falls into this. They're usually shipped in brown cardboard boxes, with a 1 or 2 color design on the box. Not sure if I've seen any on a shelf, just online. It's usually special case characters or designs. I think many are extra niche characters, even more unknown than some shelfwarmers, or little known versions of main characters. Most are repaints, some are retools. Not sure if there's been any completely original molds. I assume most are lower count runs, than retail, but don't know for sure. There even was an accessory pack (that included a repaint figure, that none of the accessories were meant for), for multiple Transformers, that was in Generations Selects. That might've used a white box, I don't remember. They did a similar repaint figure with recoloed blast effects, as well. Generations (without the Selects) is a long running mainline/semi-mainline for Transformers, that's a catch all for the different eras, including shows, comics & even pre-Transformers toys (like Diaclone homages, which have popped up in Selects & Legacy). It's still running, & currently engulfs the War for Cybertron Trilogy & Legacy mainlines. Legacy is currently doing a lot of what Generations Selects had, with oddball character choices (like Rocklords -an offshoot of Gobots- homages), but I think Selects still gets a few, even more off the wall, releases, occasionally.

Hasbro completely screwed up with the closed box action figures last year. I can't believe how shortsighted they were.

I always think of how Hasbro repurposed defective Jem dolls as “Superstar Dolls” and sold them in plastic bags.

first 3 uploads of your "middle schooler's first home video" style ad, now the exact same vid you posted three weeks ago? After a ten day drought? Would've thought you'd spend all those months of being oh-so-unjustly kept from your channel to actually make content, since you clearly weren't reading up on copyright law. You gonna blame Ethan for your inability to use KZread now, too?
