That. There are no dogfights anymore. You can't dodge a missile. You need chaff and flares and a computer telling you when to use them. Electronic countermeasures. No matter what the Fighter Mafia tells you, the best pilot in the most maneuverable plane alone can't dodge a missile.

why is no one pointing out how nonsense this is? THis is crap and everyone is barking up the wrong tree. YOu trade manuverability for stealth. ANd gause what manuvers better than airplanes? Missiles GUess what missiles can't hit even though they are more manuverable what they can't target or detect, often target. GUes what they can't target that's right, stelath so you sacrifice dodging airplanes but not missiles so you don't have to dodge airplanes or missiles even though if someone was somehow on your butt by accident, and could seed you by some luck, and had guns could theoretically have an advantage, although, it's probably that guy and your whole squad is porbably allive to shoot it down before he can shoot you down as kills take forever in dogfhights

@robertoroberto9798 BS. Modern missles are clearly different as they travel faster, and the radars are a lot more powerful, but jets in the past dodged BVR missles that traveled 2.5-4xM by notching and other defensive maneuvers. If you know a missles been fired at you from 50+ miles, as your radar should let you know, you have some time to try maneuvers to lose the missle. The US has had BVR missles since the sparrow, if they were the end all, be all, why would not only the US but other nations continue to develop their SRAAM?

The concept of High Maneuverability Fighter Jets comes from the era of Dog-Fights.. before BVR missile and hypersonic missile were the "thing".. Both are required in different situations.. Missiles have taken over many duties of a fighter planes but still Countries spend billions on Aircrafts because they know that these beasts still have use.. And in case of Dog Fights even American Airforce do not take Top-Line Russian fighters lightly.. Please dont be naive and start giving Ukraine examples... First Russia cleverly did not think Ukraine is worth risking its top expensive fighters and used what we can clearly see Soviet era fighter jets.. And they would have done the job had West not provided top notch anti-aircraft missiles so Russia changed tactics to missiles and drones.. When West gave advanced air defence systems , Russia unwillingly started using its advanced aircraft and advanced hypersonic missiles.. Why unwillingly..?? Because it exposes their hand.. it gives West knowledge about how far the Russian tech has gone without risk.. they don't give a shit if hundreds of Ukrainians are blown to shit.. the Military Industrial Complex wants to know how advanced Russian tech is so they can fear monger Americans into giving them billions in grants to develop newer tech and future orders..

@@havchikyun6096 I'm going to guess I know a hell of a lot more than you. So, let's educate. For most missiles, those stupid little airshow stunts are going to be useless. For one, the missile is way way too fast. For two, the missile doesn't impact you, but close to you. In either case, pulling a cobra maneuver isn't going to help shit. Now, before the age of BVR combat, maneuverability did carry SOME cache, but even your super maneuverable fighters would get blasted by those carrying more powerful engines. The much larger F-15 can't maneuver like the lighter and nimbler F-16, but because it had way more thrust, the F-15 had an insane rate of climb and that decided most engagements between the two classes of fighters. Again, your triple double 360 upside down loop-de-loop had very effect against the fighter who outclimbed you. Lastly, in the age of stealth and BVR combat, the effect maneuverability has on the outcome of an air-to-air engagement is really, really low. The F22/F35 will pick you up from seventy miles out and turn your fighter to scrap before you even knew that you had enemies going up against you. I'll call this check and mate.
