So ... the .404 cuts a tad faster and keeps its edge longer than 3/8 ... gotcha ... is the 661 about the smallest saw you can run it on ? Seems to me it wood take more power to run that larger chassis ... what about increased wear in the bearing ? Thanks in advance for your response

initially 3/8ths cuts faster for about the first tank. But as 3/8ths dulls and .404 stays sharp then .404 cuts faster. Probably 660 661, although I know guys who run 046 460 461 404 full skip. Personally I would only run .404 with a 661 or 880 stihl or 395 3120 in husky. That said the full skip 404 is very smooth, stays sharp for a very long time, and sharpens very quick because so few cutters.

What degree do you sharpen?
Can't for the life of me find a Tsumura light weight bar for my 661 in 28 or 32 inch for 404. Any suggestions?

yeah I did exactly that after I shot the vid. the 404 full skip 8pin with rakers lowered is the cats meow for cutting fire wood on the 661
What dawgs/felling spikes are you using?

bought them on ebay. search for stihl 661 and sort by price. I want to say I paid approx 22.50+4sh. guy out in WA state.
