Who Donks TWICE Into OTB_RedBaron?? (and why PIOsolver LOVES it)

Ойындар

ANGRYOGR1 versus OTB_RedBaron @ $50/100 Pokerstars
And Mr. Angry takes the famous DONK/CALL, DONK AGAIN line into none other than high-stakes superstar OTB_RedBaron, considered for long periods to be one of the best no-limit players in the world. What does PIOsolver think of ANGRYOGR's famously fishy line? It LOVES it.

It's amazing how poker strategy folds in on itself to the point where brilliant plays and donk plays can sometimes be indistinguishable to the untrained eye. At your typical low stakes home game this hand boils down to "I missed my straight." "Haha, me too!" "Oh, but your king plays, lol nice hand." When high stakes crushers are involved it's more like "I knew your turn donking range was polarized and my king high had showdown value on brick rivers which gave me enough equity to call and chase my straight." "Yeah, I know I need to have some bluffs on the river to balance my nut hands but I just thought your range was a little too heavily weighted toward overpairs that might not find a fold and draws some of which I blocked, so I didn't like it as a triple barrel spot, it's a shame though because I could have barreled you off of your exact holding. Oh well, nice hand."

Some reasons to donk: 1) To prevent IP from pot controlling 2) To protect from free cards 3) To force villain to define their range 4) To induce raises and 3-bet

I heard (if i understood correctly) in one of your video that you said we should not run our GTO calculations with subsets, but instead board by board, one by one. Did I understood correctly ? And if I did, why that ?! It would be faster and more convenient for me to run a bunch of calculations on, let's say, 25 ou 49 flops.

No these are solved with $2/5 stars rake I believe, I'm just using them as examples of how the BB's preflop range and his flop leading range are linked. With less rake, you can expect OGR to have even more weak hands that give him exclusivity on a few boards. In my model, I did make OGR's range slightly looser than a normal x2.5.

I always struggle with picking river bluff combos because those hands that block the nuts also block their missed draws (calling vs folding range). I guess it just comes down which range you block more of? For example bluffing K4 out of position on that river. What are we actually blocking? I don't think they have much 43 or 84, do they? In that specific spot, is K4 even used for its blocker potential? Or is it just a matter of "We're jamming X% of range for value, we need X% bluffs, and K4 makes the cut for weakest SDV?
