Both are right ,why are they even arguing.juji prolly just had weaker bicep and stronger back and needed direct work.maybe his back was talking the brunt of the load but both will defo build your arms.i implement both.

It's absolutely obvious that you work your bíceps more by focusing them because those 400 lbs are being destributed through a lot of muscles so if anything you are lifting less. this was obvious when I started lifting and it's still obvious 10 years later, just a mater of being smarter than a potato… I don't hate the guy but the dude does have a low IQ going on, not being able to understand basic physics and making wrong analogies and shit...

Brian didn't know what to say, but when you are doing a Farmer's Walk, and you have your traps, lats, shoulders and triceps, along with your core and lower body, having all those posterior muscles pulling your elbow back gives you quite the stretch. Same thing in weighted pull ups, and safer, because the bicep doesn't initiate the movement, but it finishes it. Eccentric super overloaded. Bought a chain belt and got a response same day. DOMS wasn't delayed, it was OMS

I'm convinced that triceps make bigger difference than biceps when it comes to arm size. Not saying that you should ignore biceps, but if you want larger diameter, hit the tri's more. Skullcrushers and overhead tri stuff makes for big arms. or just lift weights for 20 hours a day and you're good.

Tom Barrow. I agree with the reply’s to your comments but I also would like to add that it is correct you can work biceps till your blue in the face without that tricep your arms won’t hit full potential. While they are longer they can still have bulk which will only add to your arm size don’t care what anyone says.

Dude. This was an awesome video to watch and SUPER fascinating! I shared it with a bunch of my lifting friends. I never thought about the difference between doing an exercise to hit a muscle (bodybuilding) and hitting a muscle by doing an exercise (strongman). I do a fair amount of both, but I definitely want to try switching it up and trying the different methodologies separately. Thank you for taking me to school!

For good quality arms, do it both. High volume is excellent for joint and tendon health and even for the growth of muscle. High resistance in compound movements however also works very good, because it stimulates growth better (this is why people say deadlifts increase testosterone, because it incorporates virtually every muscle at high resistance)

Hey Jujimufu I'm near 30 minutes into the video, and I'm gonna subscribe! I'm new to lifting, currently just squatting/deadlifting (romanian I think? lol) and shoulder/military pressing), lots of stretching/yoga. Gonna buy a bench soon. Gym aint conveinient for me, but I have some friends nearby that I occasionally lift with to share equipment etc. Really impressed with the changes in my body, no idea why this isn't explained to us more during education! Sport is great, but nothing replaces lifting, right? :)

Just watch Jeff Cavaliers video of this exact topic. He explains everything that happens in your body when doing weighted pull-ups (or chin-ups) and he comes to the conclusion that doing sets of 5-8 reps pull-ups with extra weights (weights that you can perform max 8 reps) is the best way to go. And he goes really deep on the specifics why.
