Queen goes d7, black king can only go to a8, b8, a6 or b6. b8 is the worst since Nc6+, Ka8, Qa7#. For a8, b8, b6... Qc6+, Ka7. There is a few ways white could go, They could go Qce4 which leaves the game in white advantage or they could do Ka5, which mean black have to major defend to avoid being checkmated from queen and king; some potential here but I think with how many checks white is able to force irrelevant of what black does, white will probably end out claiming another black piece eventually, also a few checkmate traps exist that black has to watch out for. So while Black doesn't have to take b7, not doing so is probably still eventually leading to a loss for black. edit: and before anybody points it out, going back to Qc6+, Ka7, you could do Kb8 instead if you're on Ka8, but that leads to black getting checkmated too.

King Knight Bishop vs King Knight is a draw, as black can’t do the checkmate with white’s knight hassling them, trading either of their pieces leads to insufficient material, and they can’t force taking the knight without trading. Black’s only hope is trapping the knight before it escapes into open area. If they don’t take the knight now they lose their chance (unless they repeat moves by going Nc5).

@@chompyzilla It's hard for me to follow what you're saying, lol. I just mean when he pushes the white pawn to c7, this time it looked like you COULD put the king ahead of it to block. The reason you couldn't before was because the horse checks you into an eventual mate. But once the first pawn sacrifice was done, the next one was in the C rank and the horse can't check the king on that next move. Just hard for me to visualize, like...how would that play out? Push D file pawn, lose C file pawn. Move horse at all, queen checks and wreaks havoc.
