@@bumblesmcfumbles just a suggestion for your stance on donkey kong...yes the cartoons are very VERY childish...but like how aran ryan's cheats flux so to can age for content...and the cartoons for most characters like mario, tmnt, and even sonic were made to appeal to children...this despite the fact there is sonic games with guns, demons, swords, and sexual themes...do call the cartoon childish but donkey kong contry1-3 for snes im gonna have to ask why you think floating lava demons, giant spiders, and getting crush under a giant rotating stone wheel are made for babies.

Fun fact: the reason there's no cheaters in the arcade punch out was by intention, the reason that they started having the fighters use illegal moves and ridiculous outfits was to make the arcade version of super punch out (it exists look it up) stand out against the original. It's pretty hard to make two boxing games with the exact same style and controls unique from each other if all the characters play by the rules

Okay, hear me out. Mad Clown gets 6 infractions for each ball he brings into the ring. However, you'll notice he never actually runs out of balls, it's assumed he can just infinitely generate balls. Not only will this give him infinite infractions for every foreign object, making him an instant winner in the cheater game, he'd also gain an extra infraction for the use of magic. Also, Aran Ryan would gain yet another infraction. Seeing as how he made the flail from rope he supplied himself, it's assumed he never got this rope checked by the ref, and as a result, _the rope on his flail is a foreign object that he uses in the ring._ Aran Ryan truly is skilled at this.

Use of recreational magic for the sake of making an entrance or an exit (I.E. Before or after a fight) is considered fair game. Any and all use of magic during an actual fight (Recreational or not) are counted as illegal.

Before the fight you can do any magic you want. Deontay Wilder famously performs Vodoo rituals before fights. ( Which I would kinda count) And just praying would probably be also celestial magic.

I mean, the reason for that rule would be because that magic gives an unfair advantage to the fighter. Presumably, magic that doesn't give an advantage would be fair game. Although ironically, the only version of that I can think of is having minor illusions take the place of face paint, providing a cosmetic effect but leaving the face as punchable as it would otherwise be.

Honestly, I think the reason DK doesn’t seem to take his fight with little mac any kind of seriously is because…. Well, have you *SEEN* DK fight when he’s serious? Dude punches hard enough to cause explosions in Jungle Beat and has quite literally PUNCHED THE MOON OUT OF ORBIT. One serious punch from DK would render Little Mac a fine red mist before he could even BLINK.

I kinda wanna imagine a moveset update where Aran Ryan cheats even MORE now. Let's see here. (Featuring suggestions from the comments ! ) +Has all of his old cheats. +Aran Ryan now clinches again, and will keep punching Mac on break. +He now also will aim for the kidneys or below the belt with all of his punches. -This means he loses his overhead punches. +Aran Ryan has remembered that he is mandated to carry a pair of blunt scissors into the ring, and will throw it at you to show he not only remembered to, but carries spares. How thoughtful ! +He carries so many spares, in fact, that he uses the blades to reinforce his glove flail. +Now will attempt to circle around to hit Mac in the back of the head. +Instead of merely taunting Mac upon the latter being downed, will now attempt to attack him. +When you're about to TKO him, he'll come back last second. What, you didn't think only Mac could do it, did you ? +Speaking of Mac's gimmicks, he now throws star stickers at the screen to obscure it. +Aran Ryan hasn't weighed in. +Aran Ryan uses hot water as a mouthwash between rounds, just because he can. +Aran Ryan now wears socks and sandals. +When you first turn the game on, it will ask if you are a cat person or dog person. Of all the things he stole, no one's sure how he got THAT. +On top of the flail, Aran Ryan will randomly swing a giant cosplay sword at Little Mac. No one's sure if it's dulled, so it's up to Mac and Ryan to figure that one out on impact. +Not only does he have a brother, but Aran Ryan is secretly a genius scientist, and has the assistance of several new, neverbeforeseen Aran Ryans. He earned it. -Little Mac likes art, and the genuine rage at seeing the Mona Lisa so blatantly disrespected means right after Aran Ryan stows it away, a Star Punch will instantly KO Aran Ryan. (He just won't use it if you press too early) +Aran Ryan keeps scribbling over his nationality. First he was Irish, then he was Brazilian, then French, then "Glass Joe is a loser", then he just put "Male" there and put "Irish" on gender, and now he's saying he's from the moon, which wouldn't even surprise anyone at this point. +Aran Ryan will, in certain rounds, randomly swap his armor out for a giant inflatable sumo outfit and try to push you out of the ring. I genuinely don't know if that counts as cheating, but it sure counts as unsportsmanlike. +Aran Ryan has obtained a... NOAH-NHP chip ?! Not sure what that is, but he's a lot harder to hit now and it's definitely by outside interference. +He is now a Stand User. His Stand allows him to know all the rules off the top of his head, so he can cheat even more. +It also gives him a Portal Gun. Watch where he puts those portals so you don't get teleported off the ring, or a fist portaled to your face. +He now gratuitously will grab and throw people at Mac. It hits for a lot. -You can punch him while he's reaching for the nearest audience member. +Aran Ryan decided the best way to cheat was to make sure Little Mac didn't even reach him. And he wanted to remind everyone who's the king of cheating. So now, he swapped places with Soda Popinski and tied some of his bottles to contraptions that drop stuff on Mac. Take a very good look at the bottle before knocking it out of Soda Popinski's hands.

My headcanon is that Aran Ryan was actually a fair boxer who trained hard to genuinely get into the World Circuit in Super Punch Out. Then he noticed that the boxers ranked above him were huge cheaters who used foreign objects to attack, so he ditched the fairness and started bringing in weapons. His loaded horseshoes and boxing glove flail was the backup plan for when he wasn't allowed in with a machete.

I do see an issue with Aran though. When he gets you in the grab you start to lose health while he gains it. Not necessarily. The player losing health is one thing, but Aran getting some back himself isn't an issue. When he's grabbing Mac he's obviously not getting punched anymore - past the usual point of a clinch being to slow down an opponent and force them to back off (due to the ref seperating the two of you) it's entirely possible that Aran is just taking a moment to catch his breath while he has the player grabbed.

For Hoy, he does dwarf Aran Ryan in a different way. He may not have the most amount of distinct infractions, but unlike Aran, absolutely everything Hoy does is an infraction - even Aran has stuff like legal punches, legit stats, and legal clothing. There is absolutely nothing legal about Hoy, a distinction only shared with Donkey Kong.

I love how the Super Punch out manual even lists "There are no illegal moves or punches" as one of the Association's rules. They knew what they were doing.

An interesting thing to note is that the wiki states that Super Punch Out takes place after the NES and Wii versions, so my headcanon for the Dublin Dickface, Aran Ryan, is that after losing twice to Little Mac, who didn't need to cheat to beat his sorry ass, he started cleaning up his act and started becoming an honorable fighter that was worth a damn.

Muta made the Asian Mist famous but that gimmick was actually started by Great Kabuki in the 80s when he was working in World Class. You got the effects right except for the blue. Blue was a tranquilizer that put opponents to sleep. Blue Mist didn't last long as it was too silly even for wrestling and Black is used very rarely. Green is the most common as it's only a 'temporary' effect while Red is treated like Green on steroids with extra burn added in. Red is therefore usually reserved for when the wrestler is highly desperate or up against a hated rival.

Mr Sandman is one of the coolest characters in the game imo. Whilst everyone else is taking drugs, wearing armour, using magic tricks, bringing in weapons, etc, etc, Sandman manages to not only crush, but be far more terrifying than every single one of them, purely by using his horrifically strong understanding of fundamentals. If Little Mac wasn't the protagonist then Sandman would probably the strongest contender for the main character, only difference being that his story wouldn't be an underdog one. Also, "The Dreamland Express" is easily the coolest name for a special move. And the sheer fact that whilst everybody else has their name based on their gimmick or nationality or whatever, Sandman's name is simple. He's called Mr. Sandman because he puts you to sleep. Simple, yet terrifying.

If you're counting each ball Mad Clown uses as a separate infraction, keep in mind he can use the move more than once, suggesting he has far more than six balls on him during the match.

After seeing this, I had a headcanon that Aran Ryan was so pissed off about losing to Little Mac, that he put everything in to finally taking him down once and for all no matter what it takes. He held such a big grudge against him that he'll literally go to any measures in order to not just beat Mac, but straight up tear him to shreds.

Seriously, play a jab game with him, and you'll quickly find out he's got an iron lung and a granite jaw, and this is before he pulls out a clinch to get his stamina back. For the clown taking a knee, I wouldn’t count it as an infraction for him. The ref chose not to call him on it, meaning this is the ref’s infraction.

Once you get to the World Circuit Little Mac has his name on his waistband which should be personal branding

I think the fact that he was clean in the older game makes his cheating even better/worse. Unlike some of the others where you could easily chalk it up to zhem simply not knowing better, Aran has proven that he understands the rules completely and is going out of his way to break as many as possible.

@@bubblegum7838 Well, in fairness the arm doesn't visibly break or anything. It's a massive overhead elbow delivered to the forearm though, which in game 'only' disables that hand/arm for about 10 seconds (symbolized by the glove pulsing red instead of the normal green.) Not a big deal vs. Rick but makes Nick impossible to counter combo.

It’s been nearly a year and I’m still waiting on “Which Knockout League boxer is the biggest cheater?”

I’ve never been more proud to be Irish than after seeing Aran Ryan do his thing

Someone you forgot to give an infraction to: The REFEREE! Not only does he allow all this cheating to go on, but he's also not doing proper counting. When a boxer is knocked out, the official starts his count, and must keep the count going til at least 8, even if the guy gets back up immediately. This is to ensure the guy who was down can properly address and answer said official and continue fighting. This drip stops counting the moment a fighter is up, and doesn't even do any proper checks to see if they can continue, and is pretty much forcing them to keep going at times ("Come on! Come on!")

Aran Ryan probably developed some kind of mental disorder between games Which, consequently, counts as another infraction, as he wouldn't be allowed to box until his mental state improved

I'm not sure if this counts as another infraction but in one part of the fight, Aran Ryan will hit you with one of his typical elbows. But it is fast, and the opponent might not see it coming. This could count as a rapid strike, which isn't allowed in boxing. EDIT: That is in Punch-Out!!! Wii. Title Defense Aran Ryan

Considering that same Gorilla would later go on to punch the freaking moon back into orbit, I'd say it was a good call on Sandman's part.

I remember reading/watching something that speculated that, while most of the Punch Out Wii boxers are meant to be recreations of their prior counterparts (with the quirks cranked up), Aran Ryan's a stand-in for the entirety of Super Punch-out with all its blatant cheating.
