An OS B21 Adam Drake carb will work in the LRP.32 spec 4.1 without modification the seal is at the bottom of the throat and Adam’s published carb settings are very close for the spec 4.1. Use the .28 pull start back plate and roto start if needed

Alright about time someone answered the questions 'Cheers' to be fair your a Champ, a few more comparisons like this vid would be a Mega service to the rest of us who are left in the Nitro World!!! i.e. use your4.6/5.9 engine (as we know these carbs are mud simply criminal) or use any engine you know have a below standard of quality and which are impossible to hold a tune. Love your work! Spot on!!!

Thanks bro! Im planning a video with different carbs, I tried the hobao and it runs great aswell as the nova, next one is the argus! And I think it may be one of the best, a good carb can make a low quality engine run great

damn, you have a lot of engines! currently getting into nitro but it's kinda hard especially with my limited budget and having to try around with used cars. I have 3, one of them I got somewhat running properly by now, one of them has been running great since i got it. just gotta get some air filter oil to actually drive it without killing the engine now (i used 2 stroke oil after someone's recommendation of it with my first one and dust got into the engine...)

It's an expensive hobby 🫤 i've been running nitros for 18 years so i have a large engine collection now! 2 stroke oil for the air filter is not a good idea. Chainsaw oil is cheap and will do the job! Still, air filter oil is thicker and the best for your engine.

Awesome video, thanks for sharing. You mention about the short and long needle cards, why are the long needle cards easier to tune? Just because most of the tuning is on one needle, low speed?

Thank you Robert 👍 Why are long LSN carbs easier to tune... 😕 I dont know! Those carbs are just more predictable, they will react to needle adjustments exactly as you would expect, which is not always the case with short LSNs, harder to read

I installed a 20C (VZB) carb on my SH PT.21AO-XGB and it runs awesome reminds me of a old nova Toro nero.

A good carb on a good engine 👍 I heard that those race. 21 SH run very good and Im considering buying a lrp zz21s wich should be pretty similar to your SH. The toro Nero at his time was my dream engine! I wish i had one

Could I ask what ones fit the lrp .30 spc2 pull start, sir. I'm in need of one. I have a 3 needle, hpi 4.6 carb, and it fits great but needs total rebuild due to age. Will the hobao fit in the .30 spec 2 pull start? Thanks

For the break-in, I use the stock carb with the factory settings, wich are Usually rich and not far from what you need to Break the engine in. If you swap the carb you may start with extreme lean or rich settings and better have good tuning skills so you wont damage your brand new engine

I have a reds carb im pretty positive will fit the lrp also. I put the stock lrp carb on an engine that wouldn't run & it ran good. So i put the reds carb on it & it runs great now.

Your reds carb will fit and do the job! I dont have much Reds experience, I only have a old R5R team wich runs and tune great, dont know how the newer reds tune but I got one coming soon :)

Nice video! The good carb is the most important part of the engine! Do you know if trx 3.3 takes any other than O.S 11k carb? I have used that one, but they are not so easily available.

Thank you! Absolutely agree ! A cheap engine with a good carb will run good! I heard that losi 3.4 carb will fit the trx and tune really good! Maybe easier to find than the OS carb! Check thebug 404 's channel 👍

Will the O.S. 30VG Carburetor #21E Slide (part #OS23981010) fit the LRP ZR .32X Spec. 4 ? Is this the carburetor you mentioned on your video ?

Which carb has the biggest Venturi? I have the LrP 32 4.1. Looks like Lrp has since upgraded their carbs and has the same size Venturi as my novarossi carb. But looking for something that’ll let more air in.if I’m not mistaken they come in 9mm Venturi stock.

The LRP carb has the bigger venturi but honestly I dont feel any power loos when running a different carb. Yes the 4.1 comes with a 'improved carb' a 3 needles carb, mine ran ... almost good for a few liters until it started acting weird and I had to swapp for an os carb

I bought an LRP .28 engine a few years ago but never ran it, it's still in it's original box. I remember hearing that the carbs needed upgrading but I didn't know why. What's the part number for the hobao carb seeing as it seems to be the best choice?

Your hpi carb will not fit the lrp! Not the same diameter

Is the lrp 4.1 carb actually worth the money to put on the .28. The hobao looks like a 3 needle which ive never ran.

The lrp 4.1 carb crap.. still better than the .28 lrp carb wich is not insulated but dont waste your money on lrp carbs. The hobao is a good one. Most people never touch the thrid needle, just keep the stock setting for that one.

If using the Hobao carb, did you leave the lower o-ring on the carb as it has a groove in the bottom of the carb, or remove it? Thanks!

Yes i leave the hobao lower oring, im currently rebuilding an lrp 28 with a hobao carb, i should start to break that engine in tomorrow!

Yes you can, its not an upgrade for sure but it will fit. Argus and trackstar are made by alpha.

Hello again I have just received my Hobao carb for my Lrp.32 and the hsn is super tight and hard to turn, is there a fix to this

That should not be an issue but if you want it smoother, unscrew the needle and add a bit of Oring grease

Great education nitro video 👍🍻 I own the LRP ZR .32X Spec. 4 , what novarossi Carb will fit ? You mentioned NovaRossi and other carbs But you do not mention the model number. I found a Hobby Shop in Japan who carry lots of Novarossi new parts to rebuild Novarossi nitro engines

Old style piccos with the angled exhaust, picco boost for example

Is the Carb of the Z28R SPORT just as bad / the same? Got it in a used car and seems like the engine is in pretty great condition

Sorry i have no experience with that carb... but from what i see it's a full aluminum carb, not insulated, not great.. but give it try, worst that can happen with that kind of carb is vapor lock and it may kill a glow plug, if that happens, change it! (the carb)

As far as you run the lrp very rich, it will be ok, so i would say ok for the break-in. Once you try to tune your lrp to get the best performance and the engine starts heating up, the lrp carb will become very inconsistent and make your egine run very lean. A Nova carb is a major upgrade for the LRP

I tried the hobao carb with the stock 7mm venturi and felt a huge performance loss compared to any other carb, so yes I recommend the largest venturi possible, mine ran well with the 32 4.1 9mm venturi

Correct me if im wrong, the lrp 30 comes with the new style Block, like the New 28 and 32, NOT the old SH (lrp spec 3) block shown in the video, the one with red cooling head. So any of these carbs will fit, except the sh and old picco. I recommend the hobao carb as budget carb 👍Best is OS and nova... but these are hard to find and very pricy

All the lrp .28 and .32 5 ports carbs are not good, the 7 ports lrp carb will do the job.. but all the carbs that you have seen on this video tune better than the lrp carbs

If its a 3.5cc engine Carb it will fit. Any 3.5cc OS carb will fit. If its a 2.1 engine carb it will not. You need to do some resarch and check if its a .12 (2.1cc) engine carb or a .21 (3.5cc)

That is going to be very difficult ! New os carbs are very expensive, over 100e, thats the main reason why most pople used to install novarossi carbs, they where sold half the os carbs price. Try to find a used os carb, I will also check and let you know if I find one 👍

The Hobao hyper vs2 .30 turbo nitro engine carb fits the lrp one perfectly and is a weapon on it

Your Lrp must be a spec 3, same bloc as the sh28. Nova carbs wont fit that bloc. The spec 4 has a different bloc and carb

@@SLa-lr4eg very few options for your lrp. Old picco carbs as shown in the video will fit and sh 28 carbs. The sh 28 carb is a very basic aluminum carb, not insulated but tunes a bit better than the lrp carbs.

@@TastyBRC Hi, I change to picco 6428 it fit perfect, but picco has a 7mm venturi and the stock lrp has 7,5 to 9mm. Will it make a big difference? I only ride on small tracks.

I bought a brand new lrp 28 spec 4 (my sercond one) and I will change the carb before even breaking it in..I bought the hobao and an os engine adam drake 21 edition..will see which is better.
