A compilation of Dame Edna Everage (Barry Humphries) interviews with Michael Parkinson on the BBC1 Parkinson TV chat show.
It's funny how the two had such good chemistry and remarkable that they lived almost the identical timeline.

Sir Michael and Dame Edna were superb together. I'd love to know how much planning went into the "interviews"--the segments where it became Dame Edna's show and Parky (Sir Les Patterson's term of fondness for Sir Michael) seemed to be enjoying Edna so much, they fed off each other and it was superb viewing. The other point I'd make is that for me it was never Barry--Edna and Les were such real, all-encompassing characters that I never, ever thought of Barry or associated them with him. I am forever grateful, thankful... may they all RIP.

Graham Norton adopted one particular thing from Sir Michael Parkinson and that’s why he’s show has run for years - he lets the guests have their platform if they’re raconteurs. However, Sir Michael never allowed his own ego to shadow his guests. He asked a few well placed questions and the guests did the rest. Watching him with Dame Edna, you absolutely know he knew he was there to feed her lines in order for the laughs to happen. He could adapt from asking serious questions to playing the fall guy with ease. What an amazing career. Barry Humphreys obviously felt comfortable returning several times to Parky’s show. He was a comedy genius. There is new comedy of course, but if you want a bellyache of laughs it’s a KZread click away ❤
