I was privileged to spend an evening with Dame Edna during her Final Farewell Tour at the Los Angeles Ahmanson Theatre in 2015. It was blissful evening with the brilliant and magnificent treasure, Barry Humphries and his beyond-delightful persona, Dame Edna... truly a night I have and will never forget. He was an absolute one of a kind and a gift to us all. RIP, you funny man.

I saw Dame Edna in Pittsburgh, PA. One of the best experiences I've ever had. The Dame probably has Heaven in stitches!

Watching Edna today. The day she passed in 2023. She will be sadly missed.

Possums. Watching this today - April 22nd, 2023 - with news Dame Edna has passed away aged 89. I've got tears in my eyes, uncontrollably laughing and also with much sadness

I love to see Dame Edna among other comedians because you can sense they are intimidated and she never fails to crush them with her unrivaled wit and timing.

There was a comedy award in Australia named after Barry Humphries but the snowflakes got it changed because of some jokes about gay people he told 20 years ago.

@@lapalad Ridiculous that they changed it! It was part of a tongue-in-cheek act for goodness sake. There was no malice in it as far as I can see. Her appearances with Matt Lucas and Will Young (the latter on the Rob Brydon show) had such leanings and they were hilarious - and I’m a gay man! There’s a difference between comedy and homophobia. Dame Edna, I believe, was not guilty of the latter.

The jokes about gays in San Francisco or Lenny Henry being West Indian wouldn't fly for most comedians. But Humphries was always able to get away with that because as brilliant as Edna is, he's also not afraid of sometimes making her look naive or backward. It's an amazing character.

This is one of Dame Edna’s best. Barry’s wit and timing is unparalleled.

I remember an interview with David Walliams from Little Britain and he was having breakfast in a restaurant with Barry Humphries. A waiter approached the table and asked "fresh orange juice?" and Barry said "have you got any that's a few days old and on the turn?"

Barry Humphries was 76 years old back then.......and not a bit old -so full of life !Amazing !

It’s astonishing how good Barry Humphries is doing Dame Edna as he does. Incredibly entertaining & brilliantly funny.

She is so, SO funny. Sometimes I have to watch her stuff 2x to catch all of her asides and witticisms. Thank you for years of laughter Edna, thank you. I am one of her American possums, have loved her for years. She has become a very big deal out here, we need her now more than ever.

I live Dame Edna...such wit...and gets away with saying things while being so charming and silly.

Barry is so superb and witty as Edna and Sir Les too.

As I've said elsewhere, Humphries is a true legend. The current 'cancel culture' may have something to say, but his comic genius cannot be denied.

Barry Humphrey is unbelievably talented.He can also write. I really enjoyed reading his memoir of growing up in Melbourne, and a more serious supposed novel called Women in the Background.
