The woman said TWICE "I like the bed and the wardrobe," leaving the vomitous wallpaper unremarked. If the presenter was even a tiny bit self-aware, she would have realized the homeowner was trapped between her actual opinion and an overwhelming social pressure be to civil.

The presenter says that the woman’s husband is talking for her. Then she proceeds to do the same.

After all, they both have to sleep there. Both should be happy. But no one should constantly answer for someone because they “know” them enough. No one knows you like you know yourself.

Hospital Food I dunno, I’m a pretty confident person, except in situation where I’d be worried about upsetting someone’s feelings or being seen as too negative, in those situations I definitely don’t mind my other half ‘speaking for me’, or helping me in that situation in some way, he knows me better than anyone, and he knows that I’d like help to express myself in some situations, it depends on the relationship dynamics. I’d also have a far easier time standing up to my other half or telling him he was wrong about how I felt, I feel like she too would be able to say ‘shut up man, I love it’ if she indeed like it, but she doesn’t, everything points to get just trying to be polite to the strangers in her home. I think it’s obvious she isn’t happy, she repeats that she likes ‘the bed and the wardrobe’, the two things that are a flat colour and that she likes ‘the general theme of it’ that’s hardly glowing praise, that’s more like ‘I can see what you were trying to do but the execution wasn’t there’. Plus, let’s not pretend this room looks good, it looks like baby sick.

The wife kept making comments about the room taking time to get used to . Maybe she did like the room a bit. The whole situation was uncomfortable . Mostly because the host got super defensive about the room then tried attacking the husband as a defense .

Golden Keeper The Wallpaper isn't bad. It's just a bit too bright and not pleasant to look at. It would've been better used to use on a smaller wall or a wall with Wainscotting, or as an interior liner for a cubbord, cabinet, or drawer. Absolutely. You could see it on her face. Her reaction was completely different than the first room.

The guy knows his wife is just being polite and non confrontational. Notice how she says a couple times that it’ll grow on them. That’s not something you say when you like something. It’s what you say when you have to tolerate something long enough you stop hating it. Also lol fungus grows ahaha

Damn! Good laugh. It’s so surreal, every make over shows only portray happiness. It’s bleak, it’s to the face, it’s British. I like it!

Rachel looks like she's holding back tears. I agree with the husband. I think Rachel's too polite because she did ask for colour.

I think Rachel hates it! She hasn't said anything but liking the bed and wardrobe!

Why is it this host thinks she knows the woman's real opinion better than her husband? That's ridiculous. I'm sure he recognizes immediately how she acts when she really likes something vs. being polite. I mean the floral wallpaper, patchwork covered chair with faux aged wardrobe with a chandelier? It just looks like they grabbed random stuff and shoved it in there. There's an American show like this and one episode the woman starts crying she dislikes it so much.

I think that's the theme : "granny's room with old worsted cupboards" however, this daring style is not for conservative people; it also should be tapered down a bit (e.g. one wall only in the traditional wallpaper). Too much = stage scene for a back in times movie.

That second room made me feel sick to be honest. I'd say they were going for something "quirky" but in reality it's mismatched and messy... it even looks creepy to say the least. I wasn't too keen on the first one either. That shade of grey is very dark and it somewhat makes the room seem crammed.

Hi everyone. Thanks for all the comments good & bad. Some people think this was fake, staged and scripted. It wasn’t. It was very real sadly. No we are not actors. Just ‘normal’ people. Rachel did hate it but she won’t say so. I’ve always been known for saying it how it is. It really was not good

It looks like a showroom more than a bedroom,and you can see the wife was just being nice and try not to humiliate the host
