Even though the pointy chin is not accurate, it helps to accentuate the broadness of the cheeks & forehead. Remember, the police artist is not drawing from a personal memory but basing their sketch on the witness's attempt to describe a person they'd never seen before.

Somebody who works in psychology, PLEASE do a 10 minute study/explanation on WHY something like this sketch is so SUCCESSFUL at helping people identify a perp. Like I'm not digging on the sketch at all, it obviously worked, but there's, like, psychology-reasons why it worked so well and I kinda want to know.

Professionalism. They were able to relieve the tension with light jokes, in a situation where normal people would be throwing up their latest meal from laughter. It's always funnier when they can't keep it together but these two are *born* for this (or a related) career.

The best part is there’s actually resemblance between the sketch and the guy that got caught loll

Because that's what police sketch artists do. They are trained to pronounce certain features of people they are being described because pronounced/exaggerated sketches are easier for people to remember and catch on to. Search up police sketches and you will see what I mean.
