Naoki definitely sees Kotoko as his special person. First, he calls her by her first name during the game without using honorifics, he's also being seen in public training her on the tennis court morning and night, he carries her off the tennis court and around campus to get her ankle looked at in public, and finally he can be seen walking all around Tokyo with her hanging onto his arm. Even Matsumoto could see what was happening between Naoki and Kotoko.
