Naoki's first HEARTBREAK

Hi there LIT Besties, Machitsuki here!
This KZread channel is dedicated to help us understand Irie Naoki's Point of View. The interpretation are based on my own observation and they are not entirely the exact analyses of the drama.

I'm so sorry for the fast captions, bestie. These videos are originally from Tiktok (where you can easily pause.)I wasn't able to reedit them anymore as I lost the raw edit and only have the final video. So I have to upload them as they are. Don't worry I'm already working on slowing the captions down on my coming updates. Hope you understand Thanks for the support y'all. 💗

Actually i love when her dad suggested them to move out from the house, finally he spilled some sense into his daughter mind...he couldn't bear to see her daughter being heartbroken again n again...n yesss this eventually made naoki opened his eyes about his indesiciveness

I've seen all of the versions and I must say that it hurts me too to see how painful it can be to her father seeing his own daughter being insulted by the man she loves and crying over that man many times

This is why I loved her father in the Taiwanese version during season 2. He stood up for his daughter and got mad at Zhi Shu (Naoki in this this version). Her dad didn't say anything as he believed it wasn't right for him to step in between a married couple but after seeing how indifferent ZH/Naoki reacted towards his daughter, he was extremely upset. Even Mama and Papa Irie in that version understood

I like this version of the drama compared to all the other versions that there have been but there is a version the Chinese version where there is a scene which for me really surpassed all the others, it is when the father from kotoko to banged naoki

Yuki Furukawa is an amazing actor, he portrayed his version of Naoki so well! The small, and ever so slight changes in his expression or voice shows how much depth Naoki as a character has. He is SO talented.

Occasionally hard on her? No, dude was mean to her 98% of the time. He deserves everything Kotoko puts him through. And I love it. One of my favourite series.

I think that "ocassionally hard on her" part was referring to Kotoko's father and not Naoki.

You will be more furious if you read the manga. I appreciated how the drama is faithful to the characters’ personalities with more expressions and nicer. Naoki in the manga is always cranky and mean to Kotoko all the time (more than 90%). Naoki in the drama showed more soft spots for Kotoko, and I don’t see him yell at her that much compared to the manga except the scene that she slapped him for announcing her love letter. But I guess I can see why he is cranky all the time since Kotoko is super reckless, always panic and embarrassed herself with her jealousy before marriage all the time.

@@akankshasahoo320 I hate it, too but didn’t know why I managed to finish the whole manga. The manga hooked me real bad lol. The manga might just be Kotoko’s POV because that’s how the author saw herself and her husband. I know Naoki is mean, but he was patient with her, too. Like how he get used with eat her food because he get used to the taste and told his younger bro to stop complaining about it. He always proudly let everyone knows that she is his wife. If he chose Sahoko or Matsumoto, it will just be plain boring and fake because both girls are very independent. He might treat Sahoko nicely for the sake of saving his father’s company, but it’s fake. Naoki always concerns, keep his eyes on Kotoko, and take care of Kotoko all the time. Like how he said he needs her in his life more than Keita.

@@akankshasahoo320 The anime’s art is nice but twisted the plot too much. They even changed Naoki’s fiance 😂 I enjoy the anime too because of the ending. But I love how the drama is more faithful to the original plot/manga. Naoki’s POV changed my perspective, too. I missed his expressions a lot because Kotoko is too standout. Enjoy!!

I think Kotoko’s resemblance to Naoki’s mom, and Naoki’s resemblance to Kotoko’s dad are no coincidence. This is part of the story telling.

Yes. I quite liked the dramatic irony present in the manga and in this adaptation, where Kotoko's narration says almost every episode, "And there's still been no progress!" Yet, we as readers if we look carefully can see that the manga is about Naoki's progression as a character and that he is in fact progressing and falling in love. It's a genius move. Also yes, I think the resemblance is no mistake. Psychologically it makes sense, but also Kotoko's resemblance to his mother is part of the reason he's so baffled by her and so reluctant to give way to her. He's afraid of getting swept up in all the craziness that is his mother plus Kotoko, just plain running over him sometimes.

The only thing I don't like about mama irie is that she spoils her two sons too much. There is no firmness in her tone every time she calls "Yuki". It makes her sons too arrogant

For someone who claims to not want to know her business and to not like her, Naoki seems to like following her around late at night. He always shows up to see if he might have a chance of losing her.
