On the other hand, Most early 2010s pop was not only mindless but also soulless garbage but it did slap when I was a kid and most of the popular music that came after that was even worse, so I definitely can still comfortably sing along to those songs when I hear them even though they’re absolute shit

i think to generalize music, regardless of decade, when nobody has the same taste in music is a little edgy. nobody has the exact same music taste. & not every song has to have a deep message, sometimes you just need a rly sick beat. if they have listeners, clearly they’re appealing to someone. 🙇🏻‍♀️ most people like mindless music *&* deep music anyway. who wants to think all the time, y’know lol

I hate that people feel empowered to be so cruel on the internet. It’s like people forget that behind the user name is a real person. Words have power, whether they’re typed or verbal. Even though he wasn’t a performer for very long, he still accomplished a heck of a lot and sounds like he’s living a good life

Taio sounds like a humble caring person. He took the time to communicate, it is impressive.

Still does over 10 million streams monthly on Spotify which is pretty good for someone who hasn't had a major release in over a decade. A talented guy and glad he's doing well but had he continued on, he would have needed to evolve his sound away from the dance-pop which had defined him to that point.

His music will always define 2009-10 for me. So many memories from that era. His songs were everywhere and played on repeat. I remember the radio used to play ‘Dynamite’ on heavy rotation like every 15 mins haha, good times. I miss that era of music sometimes. But I’m glad he found peace after logging off from social media. Wishing him all the best for his future endeavours.

wouldn’t say it was elite but it was definitely a huge time for electronic dance pop music, it was everywhere.

Cheryl rejected Break Your Heart because she had also released a single with will.i.am in 2008 called Heartbreaker and people thought that the two songs were too similar sonically. Taio did co-write and feature on Stand Up, a song from her debut album, 3 Words

The whole "famous people are untouchable" mentality needs to stop. No matter how rich and famous someone is, they're still human, but it seems like all of those people on tiktok assumed that they wouldn't have gotten his attention and decided to just be assholes. It really sucks that people have nothing else better to do.

The time he was popular was a great time for music. In elementary school I would sing in the car with my cousins Break your Heart while we went to the beach really fun times ❤️

I miss Taio sooo much. He was absolutely massive when I started university in 2007 and listening to his music brings back a lot of fond memories. Moving On, Dirty Picture (feat. Kesha), Break Your Heart. He was sort of UK's answer to Ne-Yo, who also just kind of dropped off 😭

Now I understand why some artists let outsource handles their social media

i think the real reason he became irrelevant was that he was too similar to Jason Derulo. this happens a lot in the music industry when 2 artists are too similar. One has to go. Think Michelle Branch and Vanessa Carlton.

He was so popular omg why did he stop doing music idk...but he could be the biggest star ever even today because his music was amazing!

I loved his jackets back in the day haha his song Higher was originally intended for Kylie's Aphrodite album but it didn't happen but Kylie was able to feature on it for his album which was cool, it's actually a 'classic kylie' style song and i loved them both together on it, there was about 6 months where i would always hear it on the radios nearly everyday, i would say it was a huge hit. The tik tok harassment was fucking shocking, they loved jason derulo's content but mocked and harassed taio which made no fucking sense at all but then again tik tok is for the [redacted] generation and i can't stand the app or it's users, i was on there once and joined a live stream of a transgender person listening to music and having fun and the comments were fucking disgusting and beyond ignorant.

His “look” is what honestly “held him back” Industry standards but he also just doesn’t seem to be meant to be a performer. Talent is talent but nothing about him seems “star” & or he couldn’t handle fame

I thought it was the music industry that took advantage of him. At one point he sold 10 million albums. The record company always steals from the artist, more so during the first three albums.
