I love Ciara and even though her career did die off, she never went the desperate route by engaging in shock value. She stayed classy and has remained a cultural figure in black culture. To see where she is now is beautiful.

I like how even though Ciara is underrated, no one underestimates or downplays her accomplishments. What’s even better is that celebs in their prime today (Meg the stallion is a good example) don’t dismiss her as some washed up performer. That’s how respected she is. She’s the epitome of “aging gracefully” but in the career progression sense. An unproblematic queen. Edit: I added the last part.

@@thequeen3834 her biggest downfall was separating from jazze pha. And her style changed. As a true Ciara fan myself. I can say that her first 2 albums were bangers. Then Jive records screwed her up in her 3rd album Fantasy Ride and 4th album Basic Instinct. Let’s address fantasy ride. The singles were all wrong. The lead single was never ever which was ok however love ,sex and magic feat. Justin Timberlake should of been 1st lead single. Then her 3rd single work feat. Missy Elliott was released internationally not in USA. Which we know that when ciara pairs up with Missy it’s automatically a #1 top charting hit , however it still was a banger. Now let’s focus on Basic Instinct. Ride was lead single which was great . Her other singles on album like speechless was eh wasn’t a hit though and 3rd single which was gimme that she spent money out of her own pocket . That’s when she made a press release statement and via Facebook / Twitter that she was constantly fighting with jive records. She was ignored on some singles that she wanted out. In fantasy ride she wanted song high price with Ludacris to be a single and she was ignored. And then basic instinct she wanted singles turn it up featuring usher a single and wants for dinner. Not to mention jive records pushed the album sales multiple times for her 3rd and 4th albums that by the time they came out fans were like oh ok. She keeps saying it will be out and then nvm. Which caused frustrations from her fans , which i was one of them.

Ciara is still relevant and she didn't have to try hard to promote her music, she stayed true to who she is. Money is not everything, Rihanna maybe more successful than her but she is more successful in areas that matters the most with enough money to sustain her and her family for the rets of their lives. After all when all that team is gone there should be someone who to give you unconditional love and support, just look at how it ended for MJ and we thought he had everything.

A young JLo would keep up as she was a dancer by profession, but Bey is very much a singer first and dancer second. It takes more than beauty to be commercially successful in this business. Ciara has not been able to keep up with the changes in the industry. She was quite successful with R&b songs and albums in the early 2000s alongside Rihanna. But, she stuck to old R&B song formulas and clichéd lyrics about cheating and infidelity. Rihanna only remained relevant because in 2010 she started producing more pop singles and albums with a strong influence of dance, house and electronic music, which at the time was the most played in Europe. Rihanna worked with djs David Guetta and Calvin Harris who produced her biggest commercial hits. Not only is Beyoncé a well-rounded artist who can really sing, dance and act and has songs that stand out in each decade, but she also has a more entrepreneurial eye that has helped take her career to other, higher places. She fired her father who had been her manager since Destiny Child and took risks betting on another path that proved to be extremely successful.

I don’t get it how people play her success down ? Ciara has sold over 60 million records and she’s one of the few girls during her time who is still surviving in this new era ? She has a fragrance line, clothing line , accessories line (mind you which made Oprah’s list) , owns a liquor brand , created her own record label (signed her first artist) , MAJOR fashion brands love her etc I could go on Ciara is more than just a singer she’s a Mogul in the making. Stop limiting these girls to just a hit single. Impact >>>>>> hit singles . Ciara has influenced all the new girls Kehlani , Normani , Tinashe , Chloe etc you hear and see her. She’s an icon

As an electronic music fan, one thing that struck me about Ciara was how often her songs were remixed by underground artists. I guess the vocal stems for a few of her songs, but especially Body Party and Sorry, were released, and every jersey club and smaller deep house artist from 2012-2016 used those songs as samples or as straight-up remixes. That's really how I found out about her as someone not a fan of radio pop music. I view her as someone who aged gracefully and is still a beautiful a talented person who seems to be living happily on her own terms and not struggling under the weight of addiction or reckless behavior. Level Up was a bop, too (one of the first jersey clubs songs to be made by a major artist).

In my opinion she also has really good vocals as well she can also rap a little bit as well. I have always said this and I will say this again in my opinion I think she’ll be good and acting and if they ever made another Aaliyah movie she should play that role she would do amazing Ciara is beyond talented and it’s crazy how people sleep on her talent well certain labels as well if I say. But one thing about Ciara is she has multiple things and businesses that she can fall back on she has her own clothing line she models and so much more TBH if she wanted to open up her dance studio and teach people how to dance she could do that. I am happy that she’s able to have kids and a big happy family and finally for once in her life she has a good husband who treats her right.

Artists who were able to fit into the changing music trends of the late 2000s to early 2010s were fortunate and I figured she was typed cast as an R&B performer and R&B was on decline at that point. Ciara's 3rd album leaked almost a year before release and instead of re recording the album she put out music that was already leaked. Unfortunately illegal downloads were big at the time so alot of fans already had the album before release. When Fantasy Ride released the numbers fell short and unfortunately fans support artist that appear to be winning on Billboard so when her album didn't do well fans stopped supporting. from there she couldn't regain momentum.
