Kudos the mention of logistics of getting around Sintra is very essential.
Just to add, if you are a hiker, or trekker, theres a trekking way all the way from sintra to penas palace, that goes uphill and back, not too difficult, but requires a little experience

Sinatra is a very historic place and must see if you’re in Lisboa👌🏻your vlog is colourful and sencere wished you would have introduced the inner part of the city more😉👄
I really want to go there 🎉🎉🎉
More than the various palaces and mansions, Sintra for me is more about the gardens and the forest around the surrounding areas.

Totally agree! Sintra was a really nice getaway from Lisbon 🌿⛲️
Congratulations for your excellent video! How did you move from Regaleira to Pena Palace?
They're more even more attractions like "Convento dos Capuchos" -a fairy tale minimalist very old monastery completely integrated in a the nature. The " Monserrate Palace" is a beautiful luxury hotel that some years ago was open to the general public (I don't know about now...), Arabic 1001 night style!And many more...I lived there over 30 years before immigrate overseas!I still have lots to explore.One day to see everything I don't think it's possible.But beautiful trip anyway 🙂
Thks for the logistic tips and visuals! I now have more info for trip planning!

Thanks for the informative video. We are traveling to Lisbon in June. I have a bum knee and do not do stairs well. I’m curious if these sites in Sintra would be difficult for me to navigate and if one might be easier than the others. Thanks!
@NewYorkerJuhui

The Pena Palace has a short hill from the bus stop to the entrance. The Quinta da Regaleira doesn't have hills, but the Initiation Well has stairs, which you can avoid. I'd say both places shouldn't be too difficult to navigate. Lisbon has more stairs and hills, I'd say. I hope this helped and you have a safe and wonderful trip!

Enjoyed your video so much on Lisbon. How was the weather in Jan and Feb? Was it mostly raining?
@NewYorkerJuhui

Thanks so much! There were some rainy days but also sunny days. Weather was warm enough to walk around all day!
I love the way you described everything. I have planned to visit this place in mid March 2023. Do you think 4 to 5 hours would be enough for these two sites or castle of Moors?. Actually later in the day we have to travel for Albufeira. Also how would be the weather in Mid March?
@NewYorkerJuhui

Thanks so much! Sightseeing alone can be done within 4~5 hours for both sites. I was there in early February, so you will have warmer days in mid March for sure!
Hello, I have a couple of questions. If there are 4 people, would you recommend taking Uber all the way to either Pena Palace or Quinta da Regaleira since it's hard to get public transportation? Which one should I visit first? Do you recommend doing both inside and outside of Pena Place? Thank you!
@newyorkjuhui For the day trip from Lisbon would you recommend going to Pena Palace or Quinta da Regaleira first?
@NewYorkerJuhui

I believe Quinta da Regaleira is closer to the train station/city center than the Pena Palace. I've enjoyed both places, but if I have to pick one, I will pick Quinta da Regaleira.

Thanks for your comment! Tuktuk being the main transportation there (no taxi or Uber), for a family of 4, I’d suggest to choose a tour. It would be more comfortable!

Thank you for a great Video. We are leaving tomorrow for Portugal and we will be visiting Sintra. I have one question, should we buy tickets online for Quita da Reguilaria in advance? We have ticket already for Pena Palace and The Moors Castle. Thank you in advance !!!!
@NewYorkerJuhui

I think it's a good idea to buy the tickets for Quita da Reguilaria also in advance and skip the line. Back in February, there wasn't a long line, but I think for May, there might be. Hope you have a great trip!

Hello Rachel, how was your trip? I’m planning a family trip in November and I would like to ask you a few questions: 1- How did you get around? Did you use public transportation, rent a car or a tour company? 2- Was it a good idea to get the tickets ahead of time? Did you have enough time to see all the 3 places? Thank you for any tips/suggestions you can share with me 😊. Have a great day!

@@NewYorkerJuhui thank you for your informative video! How does one buy advance tickets to any of the attractions in Sintra?
When you said to pick up a map when you get there because it is easy to get lost, were you referring to the initiation well, only, or to the Quinta de Regalia, overall?
@NewYorkerJuhui
Жыл бұрын
Overall, having a map for the entire place is a good idea. The initiation well itself is pretty much oneway walk, so no need to worry about getting lost there. There are small trails within the estate that can get a little bit confusing to navigate without a map.

Where is the line for Peña Palace? Is the long line to see the inside? I just wanted to see the outside of the palace and move on to the next attraction.
@NewYorkerJuhui
Жыл бұрын
03:57 that's the entrance to the Peña Palace. I think that's where they check your ticket, and then you take a quick bus ride to the top of the hill where the palace is located. In other words, the line will start from the entrance. Hope this helped!
When you mention take Uber ride to the further means which location?
@NewYorkerJuhui
Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. Realistically, the furthest you can go on a Uber is Quinta da Regaleira, since it's not located all the way up in the mountain. I wasn't able to get to Park and National Palace of Pena and Castelo dos Mouros on an Uber.
Can I walk up from the foot of Pena Palace to the entrance? If so, how long is the walk? Thank you!

That's a great question! Unfortunately I don't have the answer, but I wouldn't personally recommend it. It's a pretty long hill, and I don't remember seeing a pedestrian road - I could be wrong!

The entrance ticket wasn't hard to get on site, in my experience. Arranging transportations was the main thing that needed to be planned out.
