The visuals and instructions are so clear. I also appreciate the fact that you are available to answer questions regarding transport from airport to accomodation. Thanks for all infos, it's appreciated. We will visit Portugal in April 2024. We are flying to Lisbon and then take the train for Porto. Spend some time in Porto for 5 days, some time in Coimbra 5 days and 5 days at Lisbon. We don't want to rent a car for this time, just public transportation. I dont know what trains station you go, but normally is the big 3 Oriente, Rossio or Santa Apolónia, for any of them the metro is very easy and very quick compared to Uber/Bolt, buses or Taxis. because they need to cross all Lisbon and there always traffic (even Traffic in Lisbon is nothing compared to Madrid or London).

Since the metro is so practical it's worth choosing accommodations that are close to the stops. Then the metro can also be you primary for of transport. I believe when you buy an 1-day unlimited pass it also works on a certain line of the bus system, but I didn't attempt to use buses.

Could we stay in Lisbon the whole time and just take transportation from our hotel there and head to Sintra? The hotel we are staying on our last day in Lisbon is in Belem. Hello Ian, take a Bolt or an Uber. Traveling to Sintra on the day of your arrival it's not ideal but the transports mentioned will get you there without much hassle. All the best!
Hi Tony, I will visit Lisbon end of this month. Thank you for the details in your video. I feel much at ease now as a first-timer navigating the Lisbon metro. May I ask for a favor not mentioned in the video clip please? Is the Santa Apolonia Station getting to the cruise terminal? Is that long walk from there to the terminal? Appreciate your help ^^

Hello, the cruise terminal is just 10 minutes on foot from Santa Apolonia station. All the best!

@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal thank you so much! Best wishes to you too.
Tony, another excellent video, thank you! I really appreciate what you have done. 2 questions: 1. If I use zapping, can I use this on the Lisbon street cars? 2. When using the zapping card how does one know how much remains on the card?

Than you. 1. Indeed. 2. You would have to go to a metro ticket machine to check the remaining credit.
Thanks for the informative video! I'm traveling with a family of 5. In your video, I did see some taxis that were larger, and looked like mini vans. Can we expect taxis of that size to be available in your experience?

They exist but they are not that common. You might have to wait a while before one large taxi appears.

@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal Thank you. I think we might go with an Uber XL then. We arrive at about 5:30 AM and probably don't want to be waiting around 🙂

@@thebehavioralobservationsp8311 sounds like a good idea! Bolt (similar to Uber) is also present at the airport.
Thank you for all this wonderful information! I will be accompanying my daughter who will be studying at NOVA in Carcavelos this summer, and I was wondering what transportation would you recommend from the airport in Lisbon to Carcavelos? Thank you!

Thank you, Mariane. You could take the metro to Cais do Sodré and then a train to Cascais, stopping at Carcavelos. But if you are traveling with luggage, do consider a Bolt/Uber car. All the best!

@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal Thank you Tony! Will definitely take Bolt/Uber from the airport. Your videos have been very helpful!
Thank you so much for such an extensive and elaborative video. I just wanted to ask that I will be arriving at 9 o’clock in Lisbon is the city safe enough for female solo travel or should I move my arrival to earlier time?
