Beautiful! Coach, would you recommend this in self defense in a street fight when the opponent throws the haymaker? I ask because that’s a common, classic punch in the street.

Timing the weave is much harder than it looks. Would be better to move out and stay at a safe jab distance unless you've got a lot of sparring under your belt.

@@AshwinMenon yeah, weaving under a haymaker is real difficult. Mainly because the SOLE advantage of a haymaker is that is can take several different paths to the target. Start high, end wide, start low, end high, start wide, end tight. It’s way better to circle out of range/away from punching side than gamble under the haymaker, unless you already know exactly what they gonna do…

There's many things you can do but it depends on ur fighting kill and techniques and of course speed and control. Another hing i would do is a sweep to the legs then some ground and pound. But if we are fighting in a ring with rules and no kicking is allowed or elbows then i would have to slip and give a uppercut or just trade blows and hope i don't get knocked out heheh

If Danny pulled straight back after slipping the right hand would it be considered a slip and slide movement like Pernell Whitiker. I know james Toney was more philly shell but I have read that Pernell used more slide n slide style. There is no information on slide and slide style (lost art). It would great if you could give more information on style or where to look. Thanks and awesome job as always.

Yes!! Been waiting for this one coach. Great video, thank you sir 🥊. One question, what do you do when an opponent has timed your jsb and thrown the overhand right over the top of your jab, at your temple? So far, only dipping to my right as I jabbed has worked to avoid that. Was wondering if their was something more effective I could do. Cheers

Hi coach, Like others video , great lesson. But i asked a question, like in the bonus part in this video , throwing a body shot while weaving outside but instead I throw a short looping right to the head. Is it better? And i also have problem with the combos: weaving outside+left to body+left to the head cause I found that in sparring , after my opponent missing their over hand they tend to pivot clockwise so i found it difficult to land the double left hook like in the videos.

No No No most coaches like you Coach is not replicating a shot at the fighters head! You are throwing it OVER his head! You coaches need to throw it like a real punch straight at the boxers head! The idea is practice and making fighter replicate the movements.
