Teaching the Fighter to Slip the Jab Right Hand and Left Hook | Practice This Great Drill

Спорт

Teaching the Fighter to Slip the Jab Right Hand and Left Hook. Practice This Great Drill! Tom Yankello of the World Class Boxing Channel is back with a really unique boxing video that is for both the trainer and fighter. This boxing tutorial is really unique in that it teaches the boxer a great drill on how to slip a 1 2 and how to weave the hook and how to roll the hook for whether you are fighting an orthodox fighter or a southpaw fighter. This will help you get in great fight shape with slipping the 1 2 hook! In this drill, Tom explains how a trainer should hold the pads. He then shows the drill. The first combo is teaching the fighter to slip the jab, right hand, and left hook when fighting an orthodox fighter. Then the second part teaches the fighter to slip the jab, left hand, and right hook when fighting a southpaw. Tom shows you how everything is a twist and how every move sets up the next punch. He explains in detail how to make smooth you can be and make transitions from slips to punches and from punches to slips.

The hip hop equivalent Coach Tom is doing is dropping 'golden' bars for days. Tom and Danny are the perfect fit to 'show and tell' us. I'm impressed at how Coach and Danny make such a technical process look so effortless. Coach is not only dropping bars but he's dropping bars between the bars if you know what I'm saying. There's layers and tiers to this stuff and Coach is bringing it! I love the way we start with the basic and fundamental 1-2 and then Coach layers it like a patisserie chef who makes a wedding cake with the tiers and intricate stuff that goes between them and holds everything together.... off of the 1-2 we get the slip of the 1-2 and 3 and then the counter 2-3.... I forgot to add that thrown properly with the fulcrum of the twist of the waste it brings everything into play i.e.: attack/defence at the same time. Then Coach drops the bomb with the interpretation from the southpaw perspective.... This is golddust! This is the stuff dreams are made of... Coach is showing that executing the fundamentals (in this case the 1-2 thrown properly) opens up the doors for a fighter to both attack and defend whilst staying true to those fundamentals... and this negates stuff poor form produces such as reaching and being unbalanced. Sometimes the simplest of stuff is actually highly intricate. I love these fundamentals lessons... Please keep them coming.

Most newer "strikers" like to focus on landing the strike vs mastering the delivery first. A lot of up and coming mma fighters could use this info. Excellent class!👍

Hey coach, loved the slip techniques with details of feet positioning and versatility to use against orthodox and southpaw, nice. Coach I’d love to see some breakdown on Jack Dempsey technique. He had the famous Dempsey roll, and he also used sometimes a heavy front stance and he would use the philly shell too with that nice shoulder position with left higher than right . How he generates a lot of power and that stuff. I’d love to see you sir breaking down some of his technique. He was a great ko artist . Thanks coach for the awesome content as always take care and good training for ROY

I throw the right hand and then drop step forward to slip the orthodox jab... Would you recommend this method or am I sacrificing balance for speed? Good luck for the upcoming fight - Roy Jones Jr and Mike Tyson are 2 of my favourite fighters, so I hope they both do well and come out safely!
