My cat meows everything I look at her its been 5 years I've had her and she gets like this often but not everyday and she's super affectionate she wants to always sit on me and wants to feel my touch she will lean her head towards me and put her paw on me if I'm busy to initiate something.

My cat saffron is very vocal, she tends to ask for food a lot, but I've had her on a diet for 2 years now, she's 17 and very healthy, she is a domestic short hair she's tall. I find that when I'm bored I eat, and when she's bored she wants to eat also but as soon as she gets outside time or cuddles with me she's content. Sometimes cats want attention from there humans.❤

My cat is 18yrs old and his meow has gotten SUPER loud & frequent anytime he's walking from one part of the house to another. We're pretty certain he's losing his eyesight😽 & using eco-location to find his way around🙀. At night if I hold my hand in one spot & snap repeatedly he stops meowing and follows the sound to the bed/come snuggle 😻

Mine is the same, 18 and meowing more than ever before. I could see the hearing and vision issues so acted on them, but the meowing continues. Sh3es never liked other cats and avoided them, so I dont think its loneliness. No body pain, eats and goes out to potty. Do you think its possible that the lessened energy and abilities are creating a sense of emptiness? Like a person; activity seems like too much work for little reward - life has lost interest and purpose so I ll just sleep all day?

@@maritevans838 Not sure how you dealt with the hearing & vision loss that comes with old age, can't give em little glasses & hearing aides...tho I really wish we could!!! That'd be adorable and I'm sure would help them feel much better in general. I'm disabled and home with my cat 24/7, I don't think he's going through an existential crisis or anything but every cat is different. My wife & I have decided to let him let us know when he's ready to be done (ie stops wanting to snuggle, loses his appetite, etc) seeing as even tho I'm in pain 24/7 & my life is pretty hard day to day, I'm still not ready to quit and I would feel terrible making that call on his behalf before he's ready. If you think your cat is bored maybe try using a laser pointer or string very mellowly near its paws so it doesn't take much effort, my 20yr old cat LOVED that until the day he passed away

@@maritevans838 PS) upon rereading my reply I notice it comes off kinda rude or sarcastic - please know that's absolutely NOT how I intended it to sound. I recently started new pain therapy meds that seem to be causing me to phrase things in such a way without realizing it in the moment. I was actually meaning to ask how you were able to address the hearing/seeing loss - I want to do anything I possibly can to help my baby feel better. I hope you & your fur baby are able to figure out what's going on & help her feel as happy & comfortable as possible for as long as possible 🫶 Again, I apologize for my tone if it comes off rude in any way - med side effects, ugh 🙄🤷

@@Lady8D I thought I saw a reply from you (notified,) but when I went to read it, wasn't there. So I have no idea if it seemed rude or not. My cat's been driving me nuts cuz there are no outward signs of pain to relate the meowing to. So I worry she's actually suffering. I imagine what a vet check would do incuding the available tests, costing $300-$600, and a high probability of finding nothing. Going to vet completely stresses her to point of vomiting after shaking like a leaf. I fear the treatment is more traumatizing than whatever is causing the meowing. I'm looking at your situation for clues to my own - very few have 18 yr old cats.

@@Lady8D as to sight and vision, there's no doubt these are issues. So I get close in front of her face so she can see me, use vibrations her body can feel by rapping on whatever's touching her to get her attention when necessary.

My cat is meowing every day, loud, like he wants something. When I pass by him, he meows. After I finish playing with him he meows, everytime is bored he meows. I just don't know what to do with him, he just meows all the time, like he is crazy. We have him for 6 years, he always was more vocal, but I feel like it's hatting worse day by day. I tried to buy him different toys, but he gets bored with them quickly, and doesn't care about them anymore.

first timer cat owner here. i got my cat one rainy night last year. He'll be turning 1yr old this September. His meowing is getting out of hand! He has his toys, his bowl filled to the brim, he's never been out of the house ever since I got him, he has his scratch board but rarely touch it; there's no other cats in my house, only other strays that I feed at night; I tried to play with him, but his play time always falls on my busiest time of the day (I'm WFH). I don't know if he feels anxious, but I was always at home! His meowing is getting out of hand. And someone who's easily gets overstimulated, this really grinds my gears and it's just too much to take.

I have 2 indoor cats, a male and a female. Male cat is annoying as hell. The moment we close him outside of a room people are in, he nonstop meows and is capable of doing that all day long, his meows change overtime, sometimes it feels like he isn't meowing and is instead yelling "OWW", sometimes regular meows and at other times deep meows. He only stops to sleep and then proceeds to meow nonstop again. I've seen him meow over everything, it gets stressfull leading with him at times. Meows for food, water, attention, stress, ???. The only thing he does right is poop/pee in his litter box, but he does not get his paws dirty, so he just does his thing and does not "flush the toilet" so to say. If we allow him to move freely in all rooms, he starts f*cking up things everywhere, he starts climbing stuff, putting things down while he climbs up. If we give him attention and play around, if he does not go to sleep shortly after, he will proceed to meow nonstop, even when people are around him. He his curious, he likes to explore, but he is also afraid looking, he easily gets scared of anything. Takes a bit of time to get him to purr and "massage" with his paws. The female cat is pretty chill, hardly meows (only in presence of food or when she wants something in specific, but her meows are so soft and hardly noticeable). Her meows are infact so damn cute, at times she almost sounds like a small bird chirping, but in cat version. One of her constants vocals is "brrr". Both cats were taught some stuff, but the male one simply just does not give a damn. We correct him a few times but he ends up doing the same issue again sometime later. Female cat hardly has done anything wrong, like once or twice, we called her out and she instantly gets away. Since the male cat is constantly messing around, both cats end up outside of rooms as a consequence, and at times the male cat lashes out at the female cat out of nowhere, so we have to step in and stop them. They are both the same age and from the same mom. Female cat does not seek attention but is easy to grab and just melt away with her looks and how chill she is in general.

It's like you are describing my cat. I constantly meows, except he doesn't do anything bad. Except meowing for attention. But the more we give him attention, the more he meows. I don't know what to do anymore. My husband works from home and he's absolutely desperate. The level of frustration is sky high. And trust me, he doesn't have a health problem, I check him regularly. If anybody has any advice for me, I'm all ears. I wish I could find some training course, the way dogs get trained, to listen to some commands. Or maybe I have to change my behavior towards him, but I don't know how.
