I was standing in line at a PetSmart and I was watching their grooming room. One of the people working in there walked away from a dog on the table. It fell off the table and was dangling from its neck for what felt like an eternity before the person came running back to get it back on the table. That was the last time I stepped foot in a PetSmart.

@@danielduncan6806 Yeah I heard however they act for the groom, they always write that the dog was good so you'll be more likely to come back. I stopped taking him there because I was paying extra for things like teeth cleaning and accessories (they had a summer special thing one time, included treats and a bandana and I never got either). Also I was paying more nail grinding and I could tell a few times that they hadn't actually done it.

Backyard breeders cross cardis and pems hoping to specifically get puppies that look like Moose. Lots of them end up blind and deaf though due to the double merle genetics. Cardigans and Pembrokes should not be cross bred. It's done purely for vanity reasons and is often a health detriment to the pups.

@@ronstewtsaw all those are good traits, and I guess what is considered practical depends on the situation. As a young single woman, what is practical to me is a dog that is not only lovable but also can protect me. As amazing as Corgis seem, I don't see them having much luck in taking down an intruder. Having a dog that's good around children would always be a good thing, however, if you are hardly ever around any children then it isn't as important. For this reason I have my cute and loveable list of dogs, and a more practical but still lovable list. For me a Corgi sits on the cute and loveable, where something like a great Dane or Mastiff is more practical.

'American Corgis' are as unnecessary a cross-breed as anything-doodles. They're just trying to make money off importing the merle gene, which will end up causing cross-merle litters that are deaf or have other birth defects, and therefore puppies killed off because they can't be overpriced. A very capitalist way to breed dogs, wouldn't you say?

I have waited for this forever! I have a corgi! Pembroke with a tail. He doesnt exactly love the water but he learned about bathing by watching his now passed cavalier king charles brother and this did wonders! Also, he came from the most reputable breeder in my country and they had worked a lot on him from the start. He's a champion tho we retired him from that world once he obtained champion status. Now I must also say that our corgi is the laziest dog I've ever met😂 we try to keep him as fit an lean as possible but he's very much a food lover and a very lazy boy. He's okay for walks, even longer walks and hikes but he would choose his dog bed and the couch 10 out of 10 times!!😂 I've recently bought your nasty critter and deshedding shampoos and conditioners so we're waiting for a warmer day here in Norway to bathe him as it has been way to long since his last bath, but we dont have a good indoor space to do the blowdrying anymore so we have to do it outside. I laughed hard when you started out by saying corgis know exactly how to utilize their weight to Block you from doing grooming stuff as our boy is an expert at hiding his feet every time we trim his nails. He hates it with a passion and if we dont reward and if we arent strict as hell, it wont be done. It is a two person job in our household. Our cavalier was amazing for it but never if the corgi went first as he would be super riled up by the corgi's bitching!
