Definitely kickboxing to learn how to fight karate is to traditional with the katas etc

Kickboxing is a mix of karate and boxing

Karate has poor grappling and is more of a striking/ kata based art. Kickboxing comes from karate true, but does away with katas and light contact and focuses more on combo speed power and constant sparring.

@@redpilljujitsu9068 u can look up the Bubishi.which shows u wat karate looked like before it was even called karate,Quotes from old masters like Kenwa Mabuni and Choki Motobu or even Gichin Fanukashi,these are masters that said karate at one point was full grappling,plus u can see in Fanukashis 9 throws.a lot of martial arts started off with grappling mixed with striking.jus seems like they understood martial arts better then we do,sum of these masters later on added Japanese jiu jitsu bc obviously a grappling martial art is going to go in more detail but yea bro.alot of martial arts started off with both.

​@@AyeJordan7back in the day yes. Now you cannot do throws over the hip cuz is a. Ilegal technique. So you only can do sweeps. To be honest the decision is simple. If you want just train for fun and you're scare of fighting, well karate is your option. But if you really want to fight and you aren't scared of punches, you should do kickboxing.

Kickboxing has everything you learn everything because you learn knees elbows boxing and kicking but you only fight with punches and kicks all taekwandow does is Kick and Karate is the same but Kickboxing you can use Your hands AND feet effectively

I think the best is kick boxing

We do both in our gym

Kickboxing comes from Karate. Karate Has more katas and less sparring and usually avoid head punches and sometimes goes semi contact like shotokan or full contact like kyokushin. Kickboxing does away with katas and focuses more on combo speed & power.

Learn wrestling for 1 year and kickboxing 1 year but seriously and dont miss lessons and train hard. Then you can beat ANY karate guy of your weight.

I would rank it kyokushin,if sparring is not point sparring, then kickboxing, then shotokan.
