It's more complex than that. In many aspects both Poland and Ukraine are very close to each other, but there are also some significant divides, which have made the two nations go their separate ways. Poland has fully embraced its cultural legacy of the Commonwealth, while other former members, including the Ukrainian nation, not so much. So there will be historical subjects where we will be in strong disagreement about. And I mean strong. Then there is a difference in religious Rite - on surface not a big thing 2022 years after the birth of Christ, but still - Poles are predominantly Catholic and quite serious about it, while Ukrainians are either East Orthodox or Uniate. And lastly, the communist experience was quite different for the two. Ukraine was an integral part of USSR, while Poland was a formally independent satellite state, constantly trying hard to overcome the gravitational pull of the Big Brother and finally succeeding. It was therefore easier for Poland to reorient itself to the West after the collapse of the Soviet Bloc and become a not so quiet opponent of Russia in matters relating to geopolitics of the Central-Eastern European region.

Ja nazywam tych ludzi:"Lwów to Polska", "Jesteśmi w EU, a więc jesteśmi lepszymi niż wy", "My nic spółnego z Ukraińcami nie mamy!" no i tak dalej podobne. If we take a short look on their education and social tendencies we can find out that there less communistic ideology than before. Modern Chinese are raised as capitalists not communists. Yes their leading party is called Communistic, but let’s not forget, that Hitler’s party was called “Working” and “Socialistic”, but in fact it protected big companies.

Not really the ones representing Ukrainians arent real Ukrainians, they are more like Russified Ukrainians or Russified Odesan Ukrainian Jewish people that left USSR in the 80s. E.g. Maryna clearly does not know Ukrainian culture or language and calls holubtsy 'golubtsi' in Russian, Ekaterina also clearly speaks Russian and calls varenyky 'varyeniki' with Russian accent. Maryna also doesnt have great memory and thinks Ukraine declared independence for the first time in 1991, in reality it redeclared independence in 1991 it had already declared independence in 1918 before Soviet Russian occupation.

For your knowlage - there was no any Kievan Rus in history. You can check Scandinavian, Greak, Arabian, Chinese, Byzantine and other written sources of that time. Everywhere it was named as Rus. Our first capital was Kiev (many people consider that it was Veliky Novgorod) and we name it as Mother of Russian cities. Russian Grand Dukes started to develop our country by spreading territories to the East. They named themselves Russian Dukes as all the people of the state named themselves Russians. Duke Yaroslav the Wise settled Yaroslavl city, Duke Vladimir settled Vladimir city, Duke Yuriy Dolgorukiy settled Moscow and so on. Thus etnically all of us are Rus or Russians. As for Ukrainians - from the beginning in 17 century it was name of polish gentry who lived on Russian territories. Thus you can not separate nowdays so called Ukrainia and Russia. Ther is one history and same people. Ukrainian is geographical identification of Russian people who live in so called Ukrainia. The same as Siberians, Far Easterners, Kubantcy (former Zaporozhskiye cossaks), Pomory, Moscovites and so on. The same geographical identification you can see everywhere - in USA people name themselves Floridians, Texans and so on. Bovarians in Germany... So it is quite correct that Ukrainians as etnocal identyification are very young and have nothing with Holy Rus (as we name our first state).

Rus' means 'men who row' in Finno-Ugric languages (Ruotsi in Finnish is used to refer to Sweden). And no there are no Chinese records of Rus' state until much later on. First Chinese interaction with Rus' was via the Mongols who did not have any words in their language starting with the rhotic 'r', hence in Mongolian language 'Orosyn' and in Chinese language we loaned the word 'Rus' from the Mongols, 'Eluosi'.

As a Ukrainian, I'm very sorry for what happened in Wolyn. It's the most horrid chapter in our history. The OUN members should stop themselves right there and reconsider their decisions. I understand that my apologies will not undo anything, but still, I feel like it's the right thing to do. Of course, the former President of Ukraine did apologise but I do not think it was enough nor do I think that it was a proper apology. We should do much more than that. @Bolesław II 🏳️‍🌈⃠ . You wrote 2 sentences and made 5 mistakes. First, we do not "worship" him as you phrase it. He is not a god to be worshipped, nor a deity. Just a human with his own imperfections. You may agree with him or disagree, but whatever decision you'll make, it will be complicated. Second, there are no non-stop movements. Some people decided to walk with a flag once a year to remember the old days when they fought the occupants. So what is your take on this? That the whole country thinks the same? A bit speculative, no? Third, the Ukrainian government does teach about Wołyń. This is part of our state history curriculum. Each school teaches about what happened, including Polish suppression, Bandera's successful attempt at killing the minister, Wołyń, and other events that took place on both different sides of the conflict. Nobody in the country spoke of Bandera outside the classroom until 2014 when Russia used his image for propaganda purposes. And still, he remains a tool to annoy Russians and nothing more. People still criticize either him or the organization and debate. Fourth, those people I've talked earlier about are not Nazis. Well... maybe some of them are, I did not check, but every country has those. And they do not represent the general population. Fifth, no one has the right to order people when to speak, what to say, and what to do. You are suggesting a non-democratic approach, which is against the law. I realize how this may look to Polish people though. Yet, we had other concerns to address in 1991, such as Russian spies in the government, the last thing that bothered everyone were people who did nothing but walking with a flag once a year. And they still do nothing more than that. To sum up, I assume that you do not know what a modern Ukrainian society is like. Finally, if you are so concerned about Nazis, you may want to consider the following. The War left many scars on everyone. Everyone has blood on their hands. Poland is no exception. I too can raise suspicions that there are Nazis in Poland because of the honoring of the Holy Cross Mountains Brigade that collaborated with them. But I do know that Polish people are simply not them. Whatever remained after the War is the illness that will take decades to cure. And your aggressive attitude will not help it. Look at current Russia, which failed because of it. Let us never live through those events again. But hey... Russia decided otherwise. So, where's the real danger hiding?
