Some Stereotypes of Switzerland all together 🇨🇭 : country that always looks at everything with the popcorn in hand like in the movies , accompanied by chocolate and cheese , meanwhile the surrounding countries ( France 🇨🇵, Germany 🇩🇪and Italy 🇮🇹 ) are at war and fighting together or against each other
Fun fact: Portuguese 🇵🇹 say "Ó pá" all the time, but it's more of a greeting or like saying "dude" or "man". An interesting twist on the same subject would be to interview immigrant populations from European countries. Would be cool to see what stereotypes they have of their own adopted countries and of immigrant populations from other Euro countries. Do black Portuguese have similar views of black Spaniards or black English as their fellow countrymen? Don't think I've seen that anywhere on YT.

Well, it's quite the same from anybody around the world.
There are different opinions on being cheap: I'd never ever invite somebody to dinner and then ask for money. That would not go down well in Italy... at all. What we do is quite different: when we're invited somewhere we ask what we can bring so that the costs can be split a bit more equally. And we make sure we reciprocate with another invitation sooner or later. But we woukd never ask for money: friendship is about sharing food and wine, not money in our culture.

@@carlosdcardona5676 actually I personally see things differently: I would object to a man paying for me on a very first date ... in my experience we normally go out as friends at least once just to get to know the other person. Probably no kissing nothing expected, but it obviously depends on the age and the level of attraction... normally it is nothing much for a starter... a coffee, an aperitiv, a pizza maybe? It is usually rather unexpensive and whoever pays does not mean much, it can be the woman, too or the man or go Dutch depending on the situation. Here there are no rules for that, at least in Milan where I live and women are quite independent. It is probably slightly different in other regions. If it is a 'real' date I'd expect the man to at least offer to pay for me, just for once. But in my case, being a real foody, I used to go out with men who would cook for me to show off their their culinary skills... I'll let you guess who normally cpoks in my family! I 😉 basically my idea is: there are no rules, each person expects something different and as long as both parties involved are fine...why trying to find universal rules?

Its a stereotype relating to Portuguese emigrants, especially pre-2000s Portuguese emigrants, in Western Europe and North America. In South Africa, Brazil, and Venezuela the stereotype places Portuguese emigrants as small-scale retailers such as grocers, butchers and bakery owners. South Africa had a stereotype about Madeira Portuguese operating vegetable and fish and chips shops many decades ago.

Not sure where in spain the spanish girl is from but what she's trying to say is that where she is from the have other traditions and different culture to the South. Flamenco and siestas are more associated with the south but that doesn't mean that all southern Spanish people can dance Flamenco. There are 17 regions in spain and they ve all got their own traditions, foods and dances but this doesn't mean that someone from one of those regions does a those things.

It comes mostly from the 50s and 60s, almost all men that emmigrated in Europe went into construction work. There were pratical reasons for that as post WWII there were a lot of construction jobs and Portugal had low literacy rates that meant fewer options outside construction work. If you go to different countries or to different periods this changes. My grandfather and granduncle were construction workers, my uncle and his wife were a cab driver and grocery shop owner. And yes, my uncle also built his house from the ground up.
Yes, in Portugal, the only job available is construction worker. We don't do anything else but build random sht. If you visit Portugal, you can see that it is nothing more than a gigantic construction site. What if we run out of stuff to build, you may ask? Some info. About Hungarians and Finns please..
The Portuguese have different versions of Pa with the accent over the A of course, which I can't reproduce with my English only keyboard. There's Oh pa, hey pa, e pa. All variations of expressions related to "guy" in English. The Brazilians use the Portuguese word "Cara", which literally translated means face to create the same effect. Their exact meaning depends on how their used and the intonations in the voice and facial expressions of the person expressing them. Portuguese is one of the richest yet perhaps most underrated Southern European languages. The bottom line is that it's a language that is highly expressive of the human experience. Expressing at times the complexity of human feeling and emotion in a vulgar and more concise way regardless of educational level or experience.

The Spaniards also have the building mania because like the Portuguese they built towns in their colonies , the other Europeans didn't.
As usual the portuguese 🇵🇹 speaks the best English out of all. That should be a stereotype as well 😊

1:01 Of course. The weed thingy
🤦 most of the silliness from the cultures I'd go like.
I'm glad I know nothing of these stereotypes. I believe in culture not stereotypes. Although I know there are stereotypical people, I let them reveal themselves, I don't assume :).
Love the irish girls personality
I never got the 'swedes are cold' stereotype. A calm demeanor is nice and friendly to me. There's different kinds of nice. I felt at ease with the swede lol
So most stereotypes have truth within... except when people get drunk!
1:45 That's a thing?

When I looked for my french compatriot in this video, the first thing i thought was "I'm curious to ear him speaking english". And this was actually the stereotype for french people.

Why is Poland not included in this list? there is a lot of stereotypes about us. One day would not be enough to describe everyone 🙈

For “Irish people can’t tan” and being a Irish-British and Italian Mutt trying to tan but burn at the same time is the worst!
Lol I'm Dutch we are cheap. You don't split the bill on a date lol. The man pays that's how it used to be here as well and I think it's how it should be
grek guy was so cool and funny
2:15 Uhm?
Stereotype N#1: you're all gay? YES.
