Ойын-сауық

Part 1: bit.ly/3tcMrC8
How much do English speakers really know about each other's countries? We got Anglos from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia etc to do a challenge round to see their knowledge of the so-called neighboring countries. This is part 2 of the "What English Speaking Countries Really Think Really Think About Each Other."

Expats are usually college (university) educated and are more likely to have passports. That extra layer of cosmopolitan education mixed with American resources has created a very large educated class numbers wise. It's just a lower percentage of Americans since we much a larger and diverse population on top of that along with a lower amount of resources available per person (China and India are also great examples of this situation). Canada is culturally the same nation but they have a smaller population than California so their government can allocate more resources per person hence the free healthcare, higher university attendance and graduation rates, and better public transportation since there's less people to move around (eg Canada's largest city of Toronto has a metro population of only 5 million compared to the 8 million people in NYC proper).

I'm Swiss and American, a dual national. But ivelived much of my life in Asia so I have a lifelong group of "western" friends and many of those are American, British, Aussies, kiwis, etc. So when you are around that long enough, you can nail down where people are from immediately. There are only a few exceptions.

I wonder if the "most generous" statistic is per-capita. If not, it seems a bit unfair to the other countries, since the US GDP and population are so much larger than the other countries. Kinda gives us an unfair advantage if not per-capita.

I gotta say it's a little odd how self hating the Americans in the video were. I don't want to say self hating but I can't think of a better word, the "don't say US" and "of course I wasn't gonna say it" reaction to sexiest men and women was weird. Are Americans ugly or something in their opinions? "Not all Americans look like us" sounded egotistical af, they may have been joking but it was a strange dig at their own countrymen and women. It was also odd how the average reaction to anyone answering Americans for sexiest men and women was met with a "really?" response. There's a subtle anti-American vibe I low-key get from the responders, even the Americans, almost like they want to shade the US to fit in with the non-Americans since they do it a lot. To the British girl who likes Australians because they're buff and tan, do buff tan men not exist in any other country? She's sitting next to a black man (there's some color for you if you like tan skin) from her own country who's in pretty good shape. Guess she just prefers Chris Hemsworth looking guys.
