What Perth Squidding REALLY looks like...

WHAT SQUIDDING REALLY LOOKS LIKE - Life is getting in the way again, leaving me with no time for my usual editing process. Therefore, I’ve decided to do something I’ve been thinking about for ages - upload a session in its ENTIRETY. I see a lot of KZread fishing vids with highlights, but very few that detail what goes on in between those high points. Despite the length, I hope to offer a real insight into one of my sessions. Check it out!
Of course, not everyone has the time to watch over an hour of footage. Here are the session highlight times:
1:41 Beach Launch
6:10 Scoping out weed patches
16:13 FIRST SQUID (cast)!
26:46 Changing Jigs
30:59 SECOND SQUID (cast)!
35:02 Second Jig Change
38:46 THIRD SQUID (sleeper jig)!
42:10 Equipment malfunction!
45:22 Juggling Equipment
54:51 FOURTH SQUID (trolling)!
1:00:45 Meeting a neighbour & fellow fisho!
1:09:21 A NOT-SO-GRACEFUL DISMOUNT!
1:09:53 Outro
The Red Devil: Wilderness Systems Tarpon 100
Squid Jigs:
Shimano Sephia Flashboost 2.5 (White), 3.0 (Lime B)
ABOUT THE CHANNEL:
I’m Paz, an ordinary bloke with an obsession for fishing the Perth Metro area. I go after species that form the staple of our great water systems - the Swan and Canning Rivers, Fremantle, Cockburn and surrounding areas. I love fishing in all forms, although light tackle kayak fishing is my favourite. I also love family-accessible fishing, and aim to share this passion with you all.

How do you find the short kayak and how tall are you? Curious if the tarpon 100 would be stable enough for the sound

@nathanaeln Hey mate, I fit comfortably in the Tarpon and I'm 6'3" and 100+ kg. It's not as wide or stable as my other kayaks so I wouldn't take it out too far or on windy/swelly days without outriggers. It's quite speedy and awesome for river fishing, but I really only take it out on the ocean if conditions are good and I'm staying shallow (squidding) - I have my Hobie for the other stuff. Hope this helps.

@@dfjmadventures how bigs the swell or bad is the wind for you to not take it out?

@nathanaeln Anything over 10 knots I don't take the Tarpon. Like I said, I take the Hobie 9 times out of 10 if I'm fishing in the ocean. I use the Tarpon in the river 👍

@@dfjmadventures cheers might look into a tarpon 160 instead. I’m not sure if it’s too long for the river though

@nathanaeln They're pretty long, but depends what you want to use it for. My last kayak was 4m long and worked just fine in the river (including the odd bream fish).
