New Hobie Kayak - BETTER or WORSE? | Perth Metro Squid on this channel's anniversary!
DFJM’s ANNIVERSARY PRESENT - A HOBIE TEST! - The time has come! To celebrate this channel;’s first full year on youtube, I’ve FINALLY got a window to test and review my new Hobie Passport. I put it through its paces chasing squid with Uncle Matt at Fremantle - exactly what we did for the channels firs video a full year ago! Does the Hobie come through? Check it out!
Happy anniversary! Exactly one year ago, I brought along a gopro on a kayak squidding session with Uncle Matt, and whacked the resulting session on youtube after being bugged by my kids. DFJM Adventures was born that day, and here we are, one year and almost 700 subscribers later. Happy first anniversary to the channel, and thank you all for your continued support as we steam towards our 1000 subscriber goal.
ABOUT THE SRS SERIES:
In Swan River Snapshots, I move around the mighty Swan River, fishing brief sessions. Not every angler has hours to spend, so my hope for this series is to chuck in a line when I can, narrow my focus and answer some questions that our magnificent river has left me with.

Nice way to christen the new yak Paz, great stuff. The rudder issue is pretty common, it can be a simple case of not enough tension on your rudder "deploy" line (at least on older Hobies, not sure about the Passport). If it isn't tight enough the yak will suddenly change course exactly as it did in the vid. See you out there!

Thanks Andy! Yeah I took a look online when I got back. I'll still be upgrading the rudder - stock rudder doesn't have a seat release anyway, so worth the upgrade - although why Hobie doesn't just include it as standard is beyond me. We must be close to running into each other by now!

Thanks for the good review. Glad I found your channel. Hope to see more on the Passport 10.5 please :) If you allow me one criticism however, the background music was terrible and I wish there was an option to just listen to your commentary and mute the repetitive audio.

Thanks for your comments and feedback. The Passport will definitely be featuring pretty heavily in coming videos. The music's not for everyone, I admit (especially during talk-heavy videos like reviews, which I don't do many of), and during the editing of this video in particular, the music was a bit louder than it usually is, which for some reason I couldn't change. Oh well, can't win 'em all. Thanks again.
