What Parental Sadism Looks Like - Ruby Franke’s Psychological Manipulation & Body Language

What Parental Sadism Looks Like - Ruby Franke’s Psychological Manipulation & Crazy Sadistic Laugh
What does parental sadism look like with Ruby Franke as our subject?
First, this video is for educational purposes to break down sadistic red flags, so you can more easily recognize those toxic traits in others in your own life
Ruby Franke is the now 42-year-old Utah mother of 6 who had a KZread channel with over 2 million subscribers called 8 Passengers, which centered around her very odd and curiously strict parenting style. However, on August 30, 2023, Ruby Franke was arrested, along with her bestie Jodi Hildebrandt, when her 12-year-old son managed to escape from Jodi’s home and knocked on a neighbor’s door hurt and begging for food, thus causing this 911 call to me made by the neighbor.
When the police arrived at Jodi’s home, they also found Ruby’s 10-year-old youngest daughter, in a similar condition. Ruby and her friend Jodi were charged with 6 counts of aggravated child abuse, which means that they could each spend many decades in prison.
But what were the warning signs that something was very wrong with their? We’re going to break down their psychology, along with body language red flags to reveal what parental sadism may look like. Now let’s get started.
Now in the comments, what would you do if you were one of Ruby's children? Let everyone know in the comments below.

@@blu4085 well, according to the DSM, narcissistic personality disorder is a diagnosis (cluster C) and anti-social personality disorder (commonly known as sociopathy and psychopathy) is another (cluster B). They share many traits but people with antisocial personality disorder show violent behavior. To give a good understanding, Kim Kardashian or Kris Jenner or many hollywood stars falls under the definition of narcissism (self-entitlement, grandiosity, reoccupation with unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love, belief that they are special and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people or institutions, need for excessive admiration, interpersonally exploitative behavior, lack of empathy, envy of others or belief that others are envious of them, arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes. BUT she wouldn't torture or kill. Antisocial personality disorder is more like those world leaders currently perpetuating massacres and g*nocides in the world (not giving name) and thinking they're in the right because these people deserve it for not agreeing with their worldview or wills.

I truly can’t believe that I just watched a video about my dad….I am in shock to realize how typical his behavior was. When I was 6, he handed me a loaded revolver with absolutely _no words,_ and when I naturally did what any kid would do when handed a toy gun, I pointed it at my step-mother thinking it was a game. He then blew up, screaming at me, saying that I was an evil child who obviously had murder in her heart. I was terrified, and so confused, and honestly believed him that I must be evil. I strongly remember his incredibly joyous and wide smile whenever it was “punishment time.” He would tell us well in advance that he was going to whip us, so we had quite a while to sit in terror. When he was coming to do it, he would first walk through the house with his leather belt, snapping the sides of it together in loud, terrifying cracks. He then had us pull down our pants and lay bent over the bed while he whipped us. One time, during a hand-off, my sister and I were bickering after being cooped up in a car for 10 hours. We hadn’t seen our dad in about a year at that point. The very first thing he said when he saw us get out of the car bickering was “Oh boy, I can tell I’m going to have to give A LOT of spankings this summer!” Another visit he asked us kids if we wanted to go get some Dairy Queen. Of course we were all ecstatic for this rare treat! The whole way driving there he was excitedly talking about the ice cream, and encouraging us all to talk about what we wanted to get. We pulled into the drive-through as he again asked us all what we wanted. Right as he was pulling up to the menu board, he just kept on driving and _very_ cheerfully said, “Never mind” and then took us all back home in tears. Or how starting at age 6, he would purposely direct my attention to something in a store before he would take off running to leave me behind. The first time he did it was at about 9pm at a rural farm store, and I noticed him running when he was halfway to the door. I took off after him yelling something like, “Daddy, wait for me,” but he was just so much faster. I got to the door of the store just in time to see his taillights disappearing down the road. He came back a few minutes later with that same gleeful smile when he saw the tears and panic on my face. Luckily, he started pulling that bit too often, so eventually whenever he would do that, my sister and I would just roll our eyes and wait for him to come back. I have so many other memories; but thankfully I only had about a month or two per year in which to make them. Sorry for the rambling, this whole video just kinda shook my world… 😳🤯 *EDIT:* Thank you all for your kind words! 🥲🫂 Rest assured, Jesus has done a _miraculous_ job of repairing my heart and mind. I have lived an extraordinarily blessed life! Even though I suffered in a large myriad of ways (until I could stop visitation at 18), I still had the incredible privilege to suffer _in America,_ the land of first-world problems. I had enough to eat when I was with my mom, and she was incredibly loving. I had medical care, health insurance, heat and air-conditioning. I had loving grandparents and a wonderfully supportive 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Pugh, who positively impacted the trajectory of my life. I live everyday loving and trusting in Jesus, and many of my wounds have healed. I still have some work to do for sure, but I’d like to think that through my suffering, I have learned valuable information, tips, and tricks, that I can pass on to others who are struggling like I did. Please know that I am praying for you all, especially those with the same types of memories. *It’s also so **_very_** important to pray for the children who experience all the same (and worse) types of abuse that I did, but have to undergo it all in poverty, or without at least a few loving people in their lives.* ✝️

My God, I am so sorry for your abuse. Your “father” was absolutely and completely a sadistic abuser with his children. What is so bad is that kids have such complicated feelings for an abusive parent. They want, more than anything to love and bond with them like any child with a foundational attachment to their parent, but every cell in their body is telling them to not trust or stop having a defense with the parent, in order to survive and protect themselves. It’s the ultimate emotional mind “f”. Your whole foundation for love and attachment is undermined and sabotaged. It does irreparable harm. I pray that your self knowledge, enlightenment and love grows and gets stronger and stronger. I send my love and empathy to you and your siblings and anyone else who was affected. I’m so sorry your father chose such darkness and evil. A great balancing of good and evil is taking place.

I laughed along with my abuser because if I didn't agree with his assessment of my punishment it would escalate. I always agreed that I was stupid, lazy and a burden on the family anyways, because he would know. He was an adult and he was following god's rules so he must be right. But I couldn't agree too hard or I was being disrespectful and obviously needed more correction.

Man if I laughed, even if was nervous laughter out of terror, it would enrage my parents. If I didn't cry it would only provoke me mom to beat me harder until she won and made me cry. I think they laughed on camera because she is trying to make light of the abuse in front of an audience so people don't take it seriously. If the kids acted scared or upset on camera that would enrage her more because they would be exposing how serious it actually was.

When my mom would try to do it in small ways to my kids, I would intervene and eventually had to limit contact. My kids are adults now and they can make the decisions they want to make, but I had to get her out of my life because she continued to enjoy my suffering as an adult. I don't know how science would answer the question, but my father was a psychopath and sadist. He definitely knew what he was doing was wrong, as he always tried to blame his victims and show himself as the good guy and at the beginning, he tried to hide his actions. I also know he was a deeply miserable person. He was a piece of shit- alcoholic, unemployed, violent, no friends, everybody hated him, dirty, was looking for scrap metal and deposit bottles from dumpsters. But in his words, he was like the overlord of the universe. I think this contrast was one of the things that made him unhappy. The only thing he enjoyed in his life was mentally torturing and beating his kids. I knew that I was going to get beaten up when I saw this sparkle in his eyes. I think he knew he was a piece of shit, but I think he blamed everybody else for his situation. But I'm not sure he understood he was mentally ill. Maybe deep down, he knew, but it made him even more miserable and more violent.

When someone makes a loud noise in my house, I get absolutely triggered. When people get aggressive and I feel danger, I want to know where all my pets are so I can protect them from harm. If you want to fairly punish your kids, limit luxuries like games or tv NOT basics like love, food and a BED! Also showing mercy is critical to stand out from random strangers which will be less forgiving to them. And it’s NEVER a pleasure! It’s a huge responsibility being a parent due to the kids inherently looking up to you. So the consequences should be big for abusive parents. I’d rather some form of extreme monitoring and rehabilitation rather than separating the mom from her children. It’s just my opinion.

I'm just waiting for the day individuals can be held accountable for violating the thirty basic human rights. Try Ruby before the Hague. As for the extreme monitoring and rehabilitating, there's just no way. She's too far gone for any of that to truly do good. Those kids need safety and love, not more time around their abuser. If they're gonna have any chance at a relatively normal life, they need to spend it far away from Ruby, Kevin, Jodi, and the rest of their pro-abuse network of 'adults'. Not all parents deserve to be parents. Not all deserving parents are biologically related to the kids. Fck biology. Not having a mother would be better than having Ruby as a mother, even with 24/7 monitoring. Especially after how long DCFS bungled this case.

Yeah, no…you literally just advocated for keeping children with their abusers. The utmost care and concern should be for the safety and comfort of the child, and keeping the child far away from their abuser(s), and the “rehabilitation” of the parent should be secondary, if that is even possible. I understand that false reports are made and investigations must occur, but cases like this are pretty cut and dry. I’m sorry but on this one, your opinion is wrong.

I have a real issue in life in seeing the bad in people, I suppose because I would never want to hurt or use another person I just assume everyone feels that way. I never saw it coming when I was younger and I was often used and abused by people. Having this broken down for me helps me so much. For instance seeing Ruby's smile after saying those awful things, well to me it always just seemed like a nervous laugh. Let's hope he's not worse as he has 3 of the 4 kids. Ruby threw the young boy who escaped under the bus when she claimed he SA siblings and other kids and stated he was addicted to porn starting at age 3, so he is being kept away from other kids

The fact that Ruby's husband has not been arrested is beyond me. He is and was just as culpable as she is. He is on camera doing the same shit.
