What NBA Players Are REALLY Saying About Jordan Poole

Спорт

It was a surprise when The Athletic’s Shams Charania tweeted that Draymond Green had struck Poole during practice. It was an even greater shock when Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes reported that Poole’s attitude had irked some of his teammates leading up to the skirmish. Draymond Green isn’t the most level-headed player, that’s for sure, but it remains unclear as to why he felt angry enough that he felt the need to strike his teammate physically. Of course Green deserved to receive some form of discipline after such an inexcusable action, but now, people are running away with the narrative that Jordan Poole had become a tad more prideful due to his impending expensive contract extension.
Today’s video will be about what the NBA world thinks about Jordan Poole.
In a world where news is reported through social media in piecemeal servings, it’s difficult to know what is true and what is not. Poole is on the final year of his rookie contract, while Green has two years left on his deal with the team. Warriors veterans Stephen Curry and Andre Iguodala have pushed back on Haynes’s report and general manager Bob Myers denied that Poole and Green’s contract situations played into the incident. In today’s video we will talk about what NBA players and analysts think about Jordan Poole, both before and after the current incident.
Let’s keep rolling.
After news of the altercation between Green and Poole broke on Wednesday, a tweet from Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports suggested that the incident could have stemmed from a change in Poole's attitude as he negotiates a potential extension with the Warriors. Kerr, Myers and Curry categorically denied the report, saying that Poole has been great during camp so far.
The Warriors are taking care of the situation internally as they should, and we still await Poole’s statement on the matter. Based on what coach Steve Kerr said, it shouldn’t be long now that the Dubs offer him an extension because he is a talented player who will only get better.
The emergence of Jordan Poole in the playoffs has been nothing short of a Cinderella story.
To be fair, Poole didn’t exactly take the league by storm in his rookie year. However, he’s now emerged as one of the most important players on a roster that has no less than three future Hall of Famers. At this point, I don’t think anyone can say that the Warriors made a mistake on Poole during the 2019 NBA Draft. Sorry guy, but you got your prediction all wrong. This is a prime example of an old message that did not age well at all. Unfortunately, the internet never forgets and it always keeps receipts.
But let’s now check out a couple of stories which maybe point out to a different side of Jordan Poole.
1. Damian Lillard
Damian Lillard while in conversation with Colin Cowherd recalled an instance where he faced off against Jordan Poole and the Golden State Warriors. When Poole scored a 3-pointer in front of Dame, he trash talked him. Dame noted that he usually doesn’t initiate trash talks but he replied to Jordan and that back and forth continued till the end of the game.
Lillard stated that he scored about 40 points but they still lost to the Warriors.
“I didn't really pay attention to him until two years ago we played against Golden state and Steph was hurt, Draymond was hurt, and we were playing against them and he wasn't playing a lot of minutes, but he did a move and he scored on me, started talking smack and you know I don't talk smack. I had like 40 but we lost to Golden State and towards the end of the first half I’m at the free throw line and he's just back there just talking so I turned to him.
2. Ja Morant
During last playoff’s Western Conference Semifinals Game 3 between the Grizzlies and the Warriors, it did not end without controversy. Ja Morant was forced to exit the game in the fourth quarter with a suspected knee injury, and his instant reaction on Twitter says a lot about what just went down.
Here’s a look at the contentious moment that supposedly led to the Grizzlies star’s injury:
You can clearly see Poole pulling on Morant’s right knee here, and the Warriors guard even gave Ja a bit of a push from behind in the same movement. Whether or not it was intentional is something that we will not be able to determine. But it does make us wonder whether there is something more to Poole’s attitude and antics.
After a stressful week for Poole, who was at the center of controversy, the 23-year-old played 23 minutes in the loss and finished with a team-high 25 points on 10-of-19 shooting.
And what is your opinion on Jordan Poole? Are all these rumors false or is there something to it? Will Poole stay with the Warriors and forgive Draymond Green? I would love to hear what you think so please let me know in the comment section. Oh, and don’t forget to like the video and subscribe to our channel for more amazing NBA stories. Thanks for watching and see you next time!

Wym push? Physically or push as in pushing someone to the edge? Because a physical push weather intentional or not it is not only part of the game, but Draymond does the absolute most in that regard compared to anybody else, and if you mean he pushed him to the point of him wanted to lash out at pool, that isn't right either because Draymond runs his damn mouth even more than the physical push aspect, so I'm also sure that Draymond had initiated the altercation by running his mouth regardless to what pool was doing. Because I personally believe that he might have been feeling himself / excited / happy about him just signing a new hundred million dollar contract that I'm sure nobody expected, which he has every right to celebrate. Then I'm sure that was the justification that Draymond needed to direct his jealousy towards pool somewhere without it seeming like that's what it was. I'm almost positive that jealousy plays a big role in this because I've also seen Klay Thompson acting like a whole towards pool too during a game that were running a play and play came off a screen for the ball, and the defender would have deflected or stolen the ball if pulled through it to him, so pool didn't give it to Clay immediately off the screen, and you see clay throw his arms in the air and shake his head as he's moping back to his spot, and then pull passes into the ball. I can guarantee that if the same thing were to happen with Draymond or steph, he never in a million years would have acted that way over them doing the same thing. They mad because that boy is ballin tf out, clay been missing because of injury, so he's really worried / insecure that pool is going to permanently take his shine, and Draymond was never really an offensive Superstar like that to begin with, so cool automatically blows him out the water in that regard, and they are jealous. But they are supposed to be veteran leaders, champions, and professionals? That's garbage. And I also hate to take it there, but lastly, I'm going to say that it seems like we as black men have a level of animosity towards each other, one way or another. People say that majority of the reasons why we fight is because of impoverished conditions, but this goes to show that even in a multi-billion dollar, professional setting where these brothers are getting paid multimillions to do what they love, they still will let their emotions, anger, and violent acts get the best of them and put forth such action towards another brother for whatever reason they feel justified which at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what pool did or said, Draymond has absolutely no right whatsoever to physically harm / put your hands on another man, other than to defend yourself. Period

I will say this, if Draymond did that in a pickup game at the park. The outcome would have been a lot different. For those of you who have played pickup games in parks or rec centers knows what I’m talking about. I’ll leave at that.

Green with the hair trigger temper. Green who admitted he was wrong and was dealing with personal issues that he brought to work, using this as the excuse for his violent outburst. At no point has Green said that anything that came from Poole’s mouth was the cause of his assault of him. Witnesses said the very same thing. Why are you folks that weren’t there creating your own version of why this happened?

No one that was there corroborated your belief that Poole said anything to warrant what happened. Folks have decided to take sides and the ones siding with Draymond have decided eyewitness accounts don’t matter. Green admitting he was wrong and that Poole didn’t deserve to be punched. One would think that the “respected” veteran (a team leader) would be the one with the cooler head and try to set a positive example to younger players on the roster. Instead we have the opposite and now a cloud hangs over the team because someone was having a bad day and couldn’t control his temper.

Green was the provocateur. Walking over from 10+ feet away, body bumping Poole to provoke a reaction. As the elder in this incident it was on Green to take the high road. He failed Jordan and the team miserably.

Thank you !!! Inside tip… Draymond having bad morning… the jaw jabbing starting in parking lot before entering practice facility .. Poole doesn’t know how to shut his mouth… if you watch film, that’s why no one really paid any attention to Draymond walking up on him… Clay & Steph we’re on court.. Poole thought he was slick and the other players were gonna come to his rescue.. they did… after he pushed Draymond and Draymond said wrong thing to do young fella… ( that’s the real reason why nothing happened to Draymond )
