PHS survived incredible hardships in his 20 yr career. He wrote Wild Flower (w Jung Jae Il as co-composer and frequent accompanist here) in some of his darkest days. PHS : lost 1 of his staunchest friend who was like an older brother to suicide, endured health-crises from abusive and exploitative overwork/physical exhaustion indirectly leading to permanent vocal-injury (reportedly spasmodic dysphonia), lost his already precarious financial security due to chronic nonpayments from previous agencies, then forced to file bankruptcy as a previous agency (not Jellyfish) sued him repeatedly for years. PHS wrote this anthem for his musical rebirth and resilience : he is the WF and the You refers to his lost music. Like many of his songs after 2009, WF is deeply personal & autobiographical. He had talked about how emotionally difficult it was to sing the song live in concerts without breaking down. This particular recorded version is actually not the best version as he was crying so much they actually had to record this song at least 3x consecutively, so he was much more nasal (clogged up w tears) with each re-recording done. Both PHS and JJI are considered 2 of SK's music legends: PHS for his voice and JJI for his musical-composition/directing (the latter a famous classical musician and composer of many film ost, including for 2020's Best Picture Parasite); both exclusives who rarely appear in any broadcasts or promotions.

This is my favorite performance and song by Park Hyo Shin. The song is a metaphor of his life struggles. The pain and sadness he emotes makes me cry every single time. What a masterpiece! Thank you Dr. Marc. 👏🏼🤗💗🌺

This was so captivating! I did not realize I was just like the audience and wasn't moving a muscle until you pointed it out 😂. I'm not going to compare my own performances to this amazingly talented performer, but my takeaway is that I want to be less sterile when I perform. It's like there is nothing technically wrong with what I'm doing, but it isn't engaging either. It sort of just....is. This performance was so moving. I loved it. Well, Hyoshin says he trains until he does automatically, so when he performs he focus only on the emotion. Sounds so simple but it is so hard to do

Jung Jae I'll, the Pianist is brilliant and they have had a very close relationship. I don't think Park Hyo Shin could not have been supported ant better with anyone else. The many works that they have created has been phenomenal.

By far and away Park Hyoshin is the world’s bet love/love lost vocalist. None his equal when it comes to purely emotionally impactful voice. You reacted to a heartwrencing one . Please privately react to his best heartwarming one from his 2015 “ Happy Together” concert . It was filmed by a fancam ( there are no official live videos) it’s called “ it’s you” and has English subtitles . KZread “it’s you” ( click the 4:00 one). He SOARS into the celestial realm. One of my favourite performances. And very accurately observed and commented on by you, Marc. Over the past months, I've watched it several times, and am always struck by the quiet, warm, floating delicate quality, and precise pitch of his voice and the passion of the pianist, who was a very fine choice. Hyoshin's emotional connection to the story and melody of the song is very affecting, and I cannot hear it without a similar feeling to what he must experience here. I do not think it is all calculated, but if it is, Mr. Park is a helluvan actor 'cause I'm convinced it's all spontaneously real. So very beautiful.

From start to finish, this video is so interesting! As a suggestion, maybe you could react to Cho Kyuhyun's singing next. He has covered this song Wildflower, and performed in korean musicals as well. The reason I'm suggesting him is because in many of his live performance videos people comment about how he has great singing technique for a Korean pop artist, but these comments rarely elaborate on what they mean. I have found reaction channels who have watched his live songs before but not yet in an analysis format. So I think it'd be interesting to see what you have to say about his voice! (Sorry about my English, it's a little rusty. And again, awesome video, keep up the good work 🙂)
