devs who actually care about us, the fans and of course the franchise itself. IIRC, they were actual fans of the games as well. It's like how Sonic Mania is awesome cause the devs were/are sonic homebrewers who actually loved the franchise, and weren't just souless devs cashing in on the franchise name.

This game was fantastic. I'm really looking forward to TMNT Shredder's revenge later this year.

im old... lol 41 i played all the streets of rage games when they came out... loved them all (the North American verison of streets of rage 3 was way to hard for kid me to beat lol) my fav will always be streets of rage 2... but 4 is honestly the best beat em up of all time... and the new dlc rocks... cant wait for this companies TMNT game... it looks cool...

Streets of Rage is my all-time favorite beat em up series, with 2 being my favorite...until 4 dropped. It was a masterpiece, and I'm so happy that we're getting DLC and expansions for it. They couldn't have made it any better than what they did, and that was pretty damn good.

I absolutely love the SoR franchise. It took awhile to get SoR 4 but man they did such a good job. I hope they bring back Skates and Doc Z before they move on.

Excelente game,played on 123 on genesis,the track at presint rocks!!all the tracks!! Streets of rage 4 is a master piece,coach co-op me and my son have beat multiple times so everyone is unlocked and now rocking with the DLC

Played a few beat em ups before so I wasn’t the biggest fan saw this on game pass last year and can I say thank god for game pass because this was the best game I played in 2020 and it became one of my favorite games of all time me and my friend played through the story and we both just fell in love with the game the art style characters levels replay ability and music oh god the music they were all top notch me friend praised the developers for how much care and love went into the game when the dlc came out it was a insta buy streets of rage 4 10\10

Streets of Rage 4 just does everything right. The combat is great, the music is great, the enemies are cool, and the environments are on point. My only complaint is the game had to end. I had a blast playing it and I'm looking forward to playing through it many more times. Just good fun.

The original 3 had some of the best soundtracks of any game. Glad they allowed them to be used in the 4th.

What made it perfect summed up in 2 simple points, as I see others have said, is that it respected the classics and knew what the fans wanted. I felt the same initially on the comic book look but oh yes does it work well...Still I won't complain if SoR5 is high res pixelated delight. I also love that I am rubbish at it, and I know it is my fault...It's got old skool difficulty and it's fun to try and master, and like a good old school games, the levels are very replayable.

Mania plus is great fun! Sor2 is my fav in terms of setting and nostalgia but sor4 has unbeatable gameplay. The combo ability is top notch. Happy I got the collectors edition its worth it

This is the best game i have played for years, i played the orignals to death back in the day. I had my doubts when they said they were making sor4 so many remakes these days are just pure shit but sor4 is on another level, the graphics are spot on, gameplay is perfect and the music is what really stands out, the sor games were known for their great sound tracks and I'm glad nothings changed with sor4, the police station, Y tower and down by the beach is simply awsome plus the fact the original composer was brought back to do some tracks to, I love this game i love the fact that you are transported back to the megadrive days with actual megadrive graphics when you hit those arcade machines with a tazer it's stuff like that that's pleased us old original fans, i play it on my pc with a usb sega megadrive controller for that retro feel, sor4 is the only game currently i keep coming back to.

Streets of rage 4 and X Nightmare is such a good game! I don't get why new games wanting to do a retro style have to make the game look like a pixelated mes. The art style in this game is so good other developers need to take notes!

Ugh,if only the recent Battletoads game got this treatment. I swear,this game single handily jumpstarted the whole Side Scroll beat em up games and it's 2020's best game of that year and the DLC only made it even more better. Only thing that keeps it from getting a 10/10 from a 9/10 is that there is no 4P Online Co-op...While it's greatly appreciated to have coach coop,I doubt it'd be any valuable during this pandemic and this game is Tailored for a 4 player experience...Here's hoping the dev team imcorporates it in the future.

Hold on a minute Mr. Content Creator...Streets of Rage wasn't just Double Dragon with prettier graphics. The Streets of Rage series owes its success to the way it was designed. Streets of Rage set itself ahead of the pack in several key areas that made the series so damn memorable. From the striking musical score composed by the master Yuzo Koshiro to the way enemies react to the player, Streets of Rage was a tour de force in 1991. It also featured the absolute best fighting mechanics ever witnessed before in a beat em' up. For its time, Streets of Rage had a gigantic move set that was so buttery smooth it's almost like playing a rhythm game. Lastly, while the graphics were decent in the first game it's the games environments that really set it apart from Final Fight. The second game took what the first did and turned it up to an 11. Streets of Rage 2 not only decimates every Final Fight in the series but until SOR4 it still stood as the best beat em' up ever created.

Should say what made river city girls one hell of a game

This game was pretty nice but nobody even plays anymore. I’ve spent more time playing offline speedrunning boss rushes and completing higher difficulty levels than playing online.

This game was hella fun and nostalgic!!! We need more good games like this

I wanted to like SoR4 so much but it just didn't land for me. The comment at the end about beat 'em ups not being for everybody these days...yeah, that's me. I am old enough to remember all those game in the arcade, NES, etc. I loved them. Now, they just don't hold up, IMO. Too repetitive, lacks the feel of progression, and generally gets stale really fast.

Games was OK but wayyyy short. My partner and burnt thought it in two hours. Could not find any replay value. Can someone help me see why people are so mad for this game. Want to love this game. Am I missing something. There are like 8 levels and less bosses. Right?

The combo system, learning all the characters, difficulty's, and rankings makes it very replayable. The DLC that just came out was really meant to satisfy people like you with the endless survival mode as well.

Also if you like overcoming challenges and learning enemy behaviors to beat the higher difficulties. And I understand that isn't everyone's cup of tea

And Streets of Rage beat the pants off Final Fight on home releases. Streets of Rage 2 is still the gold standard for the beat-em-up genre and the series' music has aged beautifully.

LOL Apex and Warzone fans will not buy

My one major gripe is that Blaze is still in sexualized clothing that is unrealistic for fighting.

nostalgia only gets you so far, though. There's been loads of games that tried to revive a series but were crappy...and were only made to cash in on nostalgia.

Unless that DLC has an actual ending then this game sucked. All that hard work & for what a shitty ending
