This actually happened to me. We both did no contact but I eventually got over her, although it took awhile. 5 yrs later right before she gets married, she tells my friend (they were friends, that's how we met). That she still loved me and wished I would've reached out to her and tried harder. Really?

Wow. 5 years is too long to vye for someone. That's crazy. Women are usually more desparate to be in a relationship than a man because they derive their self-wroth to being mothers and wives. That's just how society has encouraged them to be. Unfortunately, I don't think men operate in the same way. At least that is what I have observed being close to 40.

@@SVAsianPhilippinesGo6858 You're absolutely right. They also marry for security, not for love, most of the time. My friend told me the guy she married is ugly and I'm way better looking than him. Which could be why she said what she said.

That's why I don't believe in no contact after a certain extent. You should focus on yourself and then just reach out and be civil. You shouldn't be pestering them, but you should at least put yourself in their purview. Just don't get complacent while you work on yourself. They will see your improvements which will reattract them
