I never understood why Rhaenyra would even consider any of their terms. Once she accepts Aegon as king she loses any power and is at their mercy.

I think her brother would have killed one or more of her sons eventually. The only way this war could have been avoided is if her father had remained single after his first wife.

Viserys really messed up the succession. To remove Otto as Hand, only to bring him back was his worst decision of all.

Visery's should have abdicated or made Rhaenyra regent while he went away.

Yes. He also could've made Daemon or Rhaenyra Hand to ensure the succession. Instead he picked the worst person in the realm to fill that role.

The greens wouldn’t have honored their deal, Rhaenyra and her kids would have been murdered by the greens

God it's so refreshing to see someone who actually acknowledges Rhaenyra was the rightful heir and if the greens just didn't fucking usurp her throne the war could have been avoided because there was no way she would put Alicent's children to the sword. I'm so tired of people saying there is no right side, and that it was complicated. I have sympathy for the greens, and I understand their motives, but they were in the wrong!! The king's wish does override tradition and Rhaenyra is just a better fucking ruler than Aegon the rapist.

Yeah I have sympathy for some of the Greens too, particularly Alicent. Once Rhaenyra married Daemon and then solidified her alliance with the Velaryons Otto was foolish to try and usurp the throne.

This is debatable. Does the kings wishes override tradition? yes. Should the king carelessly override tradition? No, which is what Vizzy did. Aegon the Conquerer in all his power still respected Westerosi custom and tradition enough to ASK that his marriage to both his sisters be accepted and that his family's future incest be accepted and legalised as well. Maybe if they said no, he would've done so anyway but the point is that he asked. Vizzy did not consult anyone on whether he should put a woman on the throne. He made that decision only so Daemon wouldn't get his throne upon his death (there were other ways to accomplish that, bumping Rheanyra above Daemon would not have gotten pushback from anyone but Daemon and he wont kill Rheanyra). Rheanyra the cold-blooded murderer is a better ruler than Aegon the rapist? With all the time she spent on the council, she accomplished nothing politically positive for herself to the point of her running away to her castle (which was another stupid decision on her part). Aegon is 20 and throughout his entire childhood, was told by his father that he was not getting the throne. Obviously he isn't politically savvy as of now. But the people around him know how to run things, obviously more than Rheanyra. He would have been another Robert and let them do all the boring work, only focusing on things like tourneys and other entertainment that will make his people like him, unlike Rheanyra who wants her people to fear her. Your view is clouded by the writers putting a halo on Rheanyra's head. Imagine if the show was made from Aegon's pov, you think Rheanyra would look like a decent person? With her bastard children who are unapologetic bullies.

The Greens cannot accept that Rhaenyra comes before Aegon. Would Alicent's children be safe with Rhaenyra on the throne? I very much doubt it, but that's not even the main question. The problem is that Alicent and her children would become Rhaenyra's hostages, forever dependent on the goodwill of the new queen and her Strong boys. When a great house approaches the royal family, it is because it hopes to benefit. The day Alicent married Viserys, the Hightowers fully entered the game of thrones, and then it was far too late to turn back. They would have disowned themselves by agreeing to see Aegon's rights trampled by Rhaenyra for Viserys's decision, whether one approves of it or not, is a distinct insult to his sons, to his wife, and to House Hightower. No one accepts being spat on without reacting. It would have been exactly the same if the Velaryons or anyone else had found themselves in the same situation. Once again, "when you play the game of thrones, you win or you die, there is no middle ground."

I completely agree with you to be fairly honest I completely disagree with everything the video had to say I used to be on team black now I'm on Team Green I love the actors all of them they do such an amazing job performing but from a political legal and strategic standpoint are there are many reasons why Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen it's not fit to be Queen of the Seven Kingdoms from my perspective there is the threat of the white walkers in the prophecy of the prince that was promised the intended goal of aegon the conqueror is to unify the Seven Kingdoms into one political Realm and Rule it as its first king and founding the Targaryen Dynasty in order to prepare Westeros for the day of the return of the White Walkers the night king and the army of the Dead as king viserys Targaryen himself said if the world of man is to survive a Targaryen must be seated on the iron throne a king or queen strong enough to unite the realm from the cold and the Darkness we can infer from the statement that someone from the Targaryen bloodline will be the prince that was promised it makes sense to maintain the status quo in Westeros because a divided country is a very dangerous situation especially when there is a greater threat existential threat to the existence of the human race and besides the green faction has a lot more seasoned politicians and warriors I'm not discounting Prince Daemon Targaryen is it very capable Warrior one of the best there is but he's dangerous and violent and impulsive and he's never been a follower for rules politics for him he has no interest in governing the realm and also her sons use the bully and pick on their uncle Prince Aemond Targaryen due to the fact that he didn't have a dragon which is not very fair not to mention the poor kid had his eye gouged out by his crazy nephews Prince Jacaerys Velaryon and Prince Lucerys Velaryon and then was attacked by his cousins Baela Targaryen and Rhaen Targaryen because he claimed a dragon that used to belong to their mother dragons are not things to be inherited they're not lands and titles you can't stick a claim on a dragon just because your mother was the previous Rider because dragons choose their own Riders not the other way around King viserys himself said the idea that we control the dragons is an illusion there are power that men should have never trifled with
