Well going by that logic neither Bruce nor Happy should be Hulk since their was no mention of the first experiment without which Happy could not have become Hulk. Even Ant-man suit (and by extention Yellow-jacket suit) shouldn't exist in this era especially when there's no mention of Hank Pym or Pym particles. Hulk, Hulk2, Ant-man & Yellow Jacket exists but for some reason Tony isn't Ironman (Metal-man?) in this universe.

Maybe it wasn't gamma this time. The hulk seems to be a afflection like they said. You have to allow yourself to think in that period. Hulk is basically a werewolf. Bruce likely infected Happy and that is why he was locked up. A disease he was born with. As for Antman well we don't know if it is particles that do it or if it's magic. Hank Pym could be a mad scientist like Tony and he seemed to have been thinking of a suit as shown in drawings in his lab but had no power source@@piyushgyl97

Story writing is not dead. I like season 2 better than 1. This episode was off the chain.

It was the time stone he hit. It basically sent them back in time rather than pulling them into an alternate universe

I can only imagine how much fun the actors had recording this episode. Especially Tom Hiddleston since he is an actual Shakespearean actor😂.

I find absurdly entertaining the amount of absolutely nothing Loki did this whole episode. He didn't even bother using his powers. The most he did was run away and say Bless when Peggy said Thor was the bigger drama queen.

What If…? is definitely my favorite MCU show at this point by far. 😄 Honestly, it feels like they got all the writers together and said “pitch us all your favorite sort of out of the box ideas” and then they made pilot episodes of them for us. So many of these settings could be expanded into a full blown season or film that I’d be full on board to watch.

I f***in LOVED this episode. I'm such a huuuuge fan of Neil's 1602 run. I've read it like 10 times. And lemme tell you guys, you need to read those comics. It's freaking amazing. I'm so glad they kinda managed to adapt the meat of that story here, and kept Steve as the Forerunner. This is what Marvel should do all the time. What a great episode. My fav episode of this season so far.

That Peggy-Steve moment was so well-earned 😭💔😭… damn. Aside from Scarlet Witch being used as a plot device again, I loved this episode. Def my fave. It really showed how “sides” is a matter of perspective. When it’s an incursion, EVERYONE is on the same side, even the Thanos’s and Red Skulls of the world

It definitely wasn't what I expected, but it was fun, without a doubt the best battle was Rogershood vs. Sir Hogan.🤣🤣🤣PD: Wanda always shows great power, although I feel like they could have used her better, they had the excuse that maybe she was holding back because she was helping Captain Carter and show a little more of her abilities, but I'm glad having seen her again.🥺🥺

This episode was really fun to watch and I enjoyed the variety of characters that were in it. I'm surprised no one noticed that the Red Skull was in Thor's group of people. His face should instantly give him away. 😄 That line Banner Hulk dropped on Happy "Hulk" Hogan before throwing him was so hilarious I watched it multiple times.🤣 I really want to know just what Strange is up to approaching heroes to come with him. What is the big bad this time? Enjoyed the reaction and looking forward to the next one. 👍👍✌ out

By far my favorite episode!!! Now this is the Marvel I love and miss!! Need more of this! Love the characters and the interactions!! Wanda😍❤️..Hulks smashing!! This season has been great! It’s so much more creative than last season and it’s better at balancing the action, drama and humor, last season the humor seemed to take over (Zombie episode for example)

Besides if power balancing was kept consistent it just means some stories could never be told which just isnt fun. There is no need to care so much about who should actually beat who in a fight bc in the end it all just depends on who the writer wants to win for the story.

The Thanos thing was a reference to the soul stone. In comics the soul stone was a vampire stone that stole the souls of people to live inside itself in the soul world. So every once in a while some character, usually Adam Warlock from Guardians 3, would end up inside the soul stone and find all his friends who died living there.

So this was the same universe the Christmas special took place. When Cap broke the time stone everyone was sent back to 1602 with their memories altered and reality changed. When Steve died everyone was sent back to the present but Peggy is still stuck in the past

1602 is an actual comic. go read it. xmen are in it cause its marvel not mcu

The only deal of the graphic novel is a bit of a parallel/ commentary on Marvel history that Captain America awakening in the Sixties started the Marvel era of comics so in the comic Steve Rogers appearing in 1602 has the same effect of causing all the heroes to appear which is why they call him "the forerunner". That his presence in any period starts the age of marvels.

The whole thing about Captain America being sent back in time and then cause the Marvel heroes to exist in the year 1602 is actually also adapted from the comics. In the comics, the universe of Earth-460 is taken over by Purple Man (Killgrave from Jessica Jones if you remember him), who has become president, putting the entirety of America under his control. The Captain America of Earth-460 is a rebel against Purple Man, so he was captured and sent back in time to the late 16th century. Captain America's presence in the 16th century has caused a Butterfly Effect that led to other Marvel heroes existing much earlier in history than intended and then become superheroes by the year 1602, creating a new separate universe known as Earth-311. Captain America adapts in Earth-311 and settles down with Native Americans. I'm really surprised they took elements of that and then tweaked it so that Cap was sent back in time simply by pure accident.

That's a commentary about Marvel history itself by Gaiman that Captain reappearing in the 60s started the Marvel Age so him appearing any other period would do the same. It would work better for Superman tbh because the first superhero comic from 60s marvel was Fantastic Four but works well enough.

@@adrianomoraes5992 Doomsday Clock actually did something like that with Superman. Dr. Manhattan moved Superman's origin story throughout time and the universe adapted with the change. Originally, Superman showed himself to the public as a superhero in 1938, but then Dr. Manhattan moved it to the 80's, then to the 90's, and so on. He found that the age of heroes revolves around Superman because he's the symbol of hope. It's also a fun way to give an alternative explanation to the many reboots DC had throughout the years: it was Dr. Manhattan changing the date of Superman's arrival on Earth and eventual appearance to the public. I think it's also really nice that the ORIGINAL date Superman would have appeared as a superhero before Manhattan changed history was 1938, which was his first ever appearance as a character in real life.

The 1602 graphic novel is written by Neil Gaiman and it is very good. I was curious how they were gonna adapt. The core idea is similar but the graphic novel is 6 issues, 100 something pages so it is far more explored, it includes Fantastic Four, X-Men, Daredevil, Dr Strange, Dr Doom and Gaiman is pretty much a 17th century expert so he knows the history back and forth. Queen Elizabeth and King James are also part of it. This episode was cool but I'd really recommend read the book.

I absolutely loved this episode! I understand this is only an adaptation of the 1602 comics in name for the most part but this proved to be incredible proof of concept episode in my opinion. Keeping it grounded in the established MCU while giving you that 1602 twist worked really will in my opinion! It was awesome to see our heroes and what they could have been if they were from a different era. Like almost every episode my only real issue was it was way too short because these ideas are so good and executed so well I wish we got more time with them like a full length television series or movie but nevertheless I really loved this episode! 9.5/10!

It's almost unbelievable how low key Marvel has been with marketing this show. This is an amazing season of "What If" and it's just maddening that there's been next to nothing about this being pushed by Marvel.
