What Happened To Wendy Williams Eyes? Breaking Down Graves Disease [Part 5]

In part 5 of my series, Wendy Williams: Breaking Down The Illnesses, we explore the mysteries behind Wendy Williams' eye troubles. Subscribe so you’ll never miss my latest videos. / @drfrita
Disclaimer: This video is intended to be informational only and it is based on the alleged illnesses and conditions that have been publicly released regarding Wendy Williams' health. It is not a medical consultation, nor is it personalized medical advice. For medical advice, please consult your physician.
As many fans have noticed, Wendy's eyes appear enlarged and bulging - symptoms of an autoimmune disorder called Graves' Disease.
In this video, I break down what happens when Graves Disease attacks the thyroid, causing it to produce excess hormones that accelerate metabolism and lead to symptoms like bulging eyes, anxiety, and unplanned weight loss. Though thyroid disorders are complex, treatment options can help regulate hormones and relieve symptoms. Wendy's road ahead won't be easy, but knowledge is power. I hope this video shines a compassionate light on her health journey. Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

It does seem out of control. I will say that sometimes you can have thyroid eye disease even when the thyroid hormone is back within normal limits. You are so welcome

I have UC and Crohns Disease. I was diagnosed as a teen. I now have hypothyroidism. My thyroid under performs. For me, it is a blessing because I have struggled to keep weight on. Now it is more stable as long as I'm not in a flare. I do take medication ( low dose) for my thyroid.

Dr Frita, does most thyroid issues occur when you have a thyroid, as Graves? I had a thyroidectomy due to low follicular carcinoma 21 years ago. I am on Synthroid and never had radiation or chemotherapy. I'm still tired and in my 60s, gaining weight and hard to take off. Thank you for the information you've given.❤

You are so welcome. Congratulations for being a survivor. I recommend that you consult your endocrinologist to figure out why you were having your symptoms. It could be thyroid related, hormone related, or there could be another underlying cause. Be well.

What I don't understand is that Dame Maggie Smith also has Graves disease, but her eyes don't bug out where the whites of both parts of the eyes are showing. Her eyes have become more protruded, but I actually read that when both parts of the eye is showing top and bottom, it's a sign of some mental instability. It's not medically based, but that's what some experts in face reading have said. But as far as medical, I feel like something else is going on with her that's making her eyes bug out like that, because like I said, damn Maggie Smith has ribs disease, and her eyes don't bug out like that.
