I have seen opera singing teachers just as lost for words as you when they hear John. They start talking about his breath control, they talk about how he opens his mouth, they talk about what great control he has of his larynx, but you can see it on their faces. They are just amazed. 😮

The even more amazing thing is he came back out after this and sang another encore which included 'It's a Long Way to the Top'. He engages with his audience like no other.

I'm also a fellow Aussie like other commentors.... our music and artists never spread around the world usually, because we are so far away and also... our artists won't 'obey' the music production companies that are global... and we are SO GRATEFUL... that you reactors are now showcasing our music xx

I was there that night, i can to u first hand that the performance was just absolutely stunning, last song of the concert and he belted it out help like it was he's first. So Proud to be an Australian and so proud of our boy the Legend that is John Farnham..

John , is sadly recovering from recent mouth surgery. We all love him and are extremely proud that since he's been unwell the amount of reaction videos for this classic. He sang this at the end of the concert.

This was an encore to the hours end of a concert which is hands down "a performance of a lifetime". Farnsey is known as "THE VOICE". He can sing ANY genre, rock, blues, ballads, opera etc He has a 50 odd year career & is now in his 70's. Likely recently lost his voice due to having part of his jaw removed because of cancer. He is the niciest, most humble, hilarious larrikin (could have been a comedian) who literally was crowned "Australian of the Year". He has many ANTHEMS but his best known is STILL today "You're the Voice" which is still 35yrs or so later known as "Australia's Unofficial National Anthem". I recommend reacting to that from the same concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Orchestra. ALWAYS react to him LIVE, you simply can't do reactions of him & other Aussie's justice without reacting live. He forever & a day holds the best selling album of all time. Not to mention he also played the lead in "Jesus Christ Superstar" which is Australia's "best selling musical of all time". The best performance of that you'll ever see (with other titans of Australia's music industry) you'll ever see. Please react to that too. Welcome to his rabbit hole, unfortunately his online presence doesn't hold much to best showcase 50yrs BUT still you can get the jist. He isn't just one of the best vocalist ever, but of all time, anywhere in the world. He was offered to replace Freddie in Queen but refused as he didn't want to be away from his family. This particular song is a complete & utter re-work of an up-tempo song by "The Beatles". John Lennon said this was the best version of this song ever & how it should have been sung. Farnsey sings every vowel, any note like no other LIVE. You'll never see a bad performance. Another Australian musician who has had just the same amount of success for 50+ yrs is Jimmy Barnes individually & as part of the best selling band of all time in Australia "Cold Chisel". They're great mates, our Aussie music industry is tight. Together they are known in Aus as Farnsey & Barnsey. They did a blues duo together called "When Something is Wrong With my Baby". Please react to that. So much to recommend to you from all of the above BUT hopefully (like most reactors) they organically spend years becoming viral just from their fan base alone. "Black Dog" a soundcheck (so audio only) by Farnsey is mind blowing. Better than the original & he was singing for nobody, just "warming up" his voice to one of the hardest songs to sing EVER. "Burn for You" a ballad is forever also one of my favourite. A song he wrote about being away touring from his wife.

No matter how many times I hear this, I just marvel at John's talent and his ability to improve a Beatles classic. The song has extra potency given John's battle with cancer. Speedy recovery, John, and if positive thinking really works, you have a nation of Farnsey followers in your corner.

@Serene, Peaceful & Relaxing Music I know he's still alive and kicking but I doubt he'll sing again. We've been spoilt in Oz with him as an entertainer, hopefully he gets bulk quality time with family now.

Yes I've always wondered if he came to earth with some important mission to move as many people's hearts and minds as possible. Ever since he has been in the public eye, since a young man, his personal interactions have always been kind and generous of spirit. An amazing spirit and his enormous talent is still slowly gifting so many around the world even now when it is really needed as people are beginning to come together now after so much divisiveness and separation. Even though Oz has enjoyed John since his young days, hidden from the rest of the world ( which might’ve burnt him out early) his mission seems now to have been a slow mighty burn into a blaze. I am not religious but I do believe there is a purpose to an evolvement of the shared human spirit.

I was at one of those concerts. 12 or 13 yrs old. He invited all the kids to come to the front. Loved it.

It takes someone special to take a Beatles song and make your version the definitive one. Shout out to his Musical Director David Hirschfelder who did the arrangement (David playing keyboards) the MSO and the adoring crowd who are such a part of this performance . John is currently recovering from (sadly ironically) an operation to deal with cancer of the jaw) Get better John, you deadset legend ❤

As an Australian we call him THE VOICE- understably so. He sang this as part of an encore and 1 1/2 hours performing. He's from my town and a great guy.Nobody has said a bad word about him. Was Australian of the year in the 70s. Long story about his career. I'll let you do the homework. We love this guy.
