    I'm glad you found Our Farnsey. He has a huge catalogue spanning 5 decades filled with any genre you care to mention, and there's not not one that won't bring you joy. As the man sings, so the man is. He is humble, generous and funny, and goes out of his way to help others. He's especially known for using his considerable clout and connections both in Oz and overseas to hold a fundraising event out in the bush to support the people in times of drought, fire and flood. As recently as 2020 and 2021, at age 70+, he organised back to back fundraisers for the communities devastated by catastrophic bushfires followed by catastrophic floods. The following year, he was diagnosed with mouth cancer and had radical surgery to remove half his jaw. He's just recently returned home from a stint in the ICU with respiratory complications. Get well Farnsey! ❤

    One of the Greatest Vocalists Of All Time with enormous range, An enormously versatile artist; singing across multiple genres, ( Pop, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Musical Theatre etc. ) in perfect pitch and not a single vocal lesson. Also a great songwriter, who filled Stadiums here - for Decades. Indeed, is a running joke about how many 'Last' & ' Farewell' Tours he had - as we wouldn't let him retire! Farnsie last performed at the 2020 Fight Fire fundraising concert for the devastating bushfires we suffered here at that time. Now 73 John has battled some severe health issues recently, but believe he's on the mend now. His sons tell us he's been thoroughly surprised and moved by this new surge in his popularity, as he's being 'discovered' all over again, by the KZread and Rector World. Deservedly so. No Aussie is surprised at this, he's known here as THE VOICE. An Aussie legend and a thoroughly decent down to earth guy without a shred of 'star ego'. Enjoy exploring more FARNSIE MAGIC! 😆👍 { #There's quite a few other great Aussie talents you should discover as well - if you haven't already. Jimmy Barnes, Guy Sebastian, Tina Arena, Rene Geyer - Just for Starters! }

    John is known as "The VOICE", he can sing anything, any genre. His career has spanned over 6 decades, in his early years he won King of Pop 5 consecutive years in a row. Then he got lost, with bad management. Came back when he signed up with his old friend Glen Wheatley (ex Masters Apprentices), did 5 years with Little River Band, then put out an Album that went viral, it featured the song "You're the Voice" and up he went again soaring to the heights. He is an ICON in the Australian Music Industry and respected by many international artists. Many docos over the years has been done on him, but the latest only just release at the Cinemas in Aust is breaking box office records "John Farnham - Finding the Voice". Thought you might like John doing a warmup during a sound check his version of "Black Dog" (Led Zepplin), thankfully the sound engineer decided to record it. Haven't found a video of it being done live... but this should be a must for you. kzread.info/dash/bejne/eGaNy5iNhsyTo7g.html

    This concert was advertised as John and his Big Band in typical Aussie understatement, it's a 100+ piece orchestra for crying out loud. lol This song is one of the last songs of the night after he has already sung his heart out for nearly 3 hours, and Farnsey also has a way of getting deep into the emotions of your soul. A couple of songs worth checking have been mentioned below, plus these are worth a look also. The reason you haven't heard of him is because the US music industry is a closed little club. When John Farnham went to the US they didn't know which genre to put him in so his US promotions manager got him a couple of gigs in a little jazz club, where the MC introduced him as Jack Phantom. Couldn't even be bothered getting his name correct, so being a bit disheartened he wandered home to concentrate on his loyal fan base. The experience did give him inspiration to write a couple of good songs about missing his family, like this one. -Burn For You.. kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZoSE2LGhgNbWdaQ.html -Angels.. Notice how he holds the mike below his chest, both mikes are a metre away, which he does all the time to not drown out the other singers. JF with Lisa Edwards, a top singer in her own right, and one of John's back up singers for 20+ years. kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z5NmsKyLeceof5s.html -To show the calibre of his other back up Singers, showing you have to be good in your own right, just like Lisa. Vanetta Fields and Lindsey Field. kzread.info/dash/bejne/kaxqsJttf6jRirQ.html -Please Don't Ask Me.. This one with Olivia Newton John, who we have recently lost. John has also had major cancer surgery including removal of part of his jaw and we may not hear him sing again. So let's enjoy this one as well.. kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZKmKwdaTf6fMe5s.html -When Something Is Wrong With My Baby.... And even when he is singing with one of the most powerful voices on the planet, Jimmy Barnes, he still put the mike away from his face and closer to Jonny Diesel on guitar. kzread.info/dash/bejne/c4mTxKWcmKe9dpc.html Or this version. kzread.info/dash/bejne/hHWgqKqMgK-uoNI.html -When The War Is Over… Possibly one of his greatest vocals. kzread.info/dash/bejne/npqL1LqcZci0aMo.html -Or is the greatest. Gethsemane.. kzread.info/dash/bejne/nWmr0a-TpKbSmKw.html -How about a mike test. He has the power and ability to distort microphones, amps, and get speaker stacks jumping. So this sort of setting up the venue test is a must. Lol Black Dog. kzread.info/dash/bejne/eGaNy5iNhsyTo7g.html Besides having the best voice ever, JF can adjust his tone, pitch, volume, to match the person he is singing with to either match them or sing just under them depending on who's the head line act, he will even back himself down when he is the head line to give others their moment to shine, and if my ears were sensitive enough, I wouldn't be surprised if he could vary his vibrato, timbre and all of those other things that voices can do so he could accentuate the other singers.

    Australia is very multicultural country and just like everywhere else in the world people like (and don't like) different genres of music and singers. However... When it comes to John Farnham I doubt you will find an Australian who does not respect and love John for who he is as a person. They may not be great fans of his music; but he is still a national treasure. You can tell from the way he interacts with his audience that he is a genuinely good, friendly person. He loves giving the audience a good time. Oh, and by the way; this song was an encore after a 2 1/2 hour performance! What is there to say but ; BRAVO!! Outstanding!! 💗&✌my fellow human.

Another song (no live) that deserves more attention is 'Rolling Home'. Of course his rendition of Gethsemane is stunning. The live concert video from 1992 is available as well. What sets John apart from other great singers is his versaility. He can sing any genre perfectly, including opera.

    That is a Beatles song. Originally sung more upbeat. I don’t usually like people messing with a Beatles song but I make an exception in John’s case.

    Spot on comparison to George Michael........ the only 2 males I can think of in that particular universe of singing any genre from pop to light opera. John also does brilliant covers of AC/DC and Led Zepplin songs....... and was born to sing soul music. After all that, I am NOT a fan of musical theatre BUT....... John really shined as Jesus in Australia’s production of Superstar in the 1990’s...... the best Gethsemane I have heard. Then his duet with Jimmy Barnes will melt your soul....... a cover of When Something Is Wrong With My Baby....... live is always best with John but the official video is also brilliant.

    Check out Jimmy Barnes and Ian Moss who both sing lead for Cold Chisel. John was on the bones of his ass ready to throw in the towel before he got signed

    It is reported that John Lennon heard this and commented that he originally wrote the song with a slower tempo in mind than the original Beatles version which was considerably more upbeat. That said: You are about to embark on a wonderful journey if you look more into Farnham's repertoire. Songs like 'You're the Voice', duets with Olivia Newton-John and Jimmy Barnes from Cold Chisel, even to John performing 'Gesthemene' from Jesus Christ Superstar. 'Help' is very impressive and one of his best Covers but there are many amazing videos to come if you dive down the rabbit hole. Few music afficianado's would disagree that John Farnham has one of the finest voices of all time.

    I just came across your reaction videos and enjoyed watching you discover an Australian icon. Could you please check out another Australian icon in Jimmy Barnes. The song is Stone Cold by Jimmy Barnes featuring Joe Bonamassa. Joe absolutely kills it on guitar and you will love Jimmy's unique voice. Cheers mate 👍

    I believe John Farnham received death threats over this version, but it pisses all over the Beatles version.

    Hey dude, the key to a good reaction video is the reactor's eyes and we can't see yours behind those glasses. What we could see is the reflection of you playing on your phone halfway through the song. Just sayin'
