oh my god I’ve got tears running down my eyes bawling like a baby. He gives everything on stage no one’s a better entertainer than John Farnham. We adore him here and he’s so so funny and he’s so in love with his wife and family. And his kind gentle strong very funny and very gracious to the people that work with him. Just a fantastic bloke. Love him

John has incredible talent backed up by humility, humour and an open, generous spirit. He chose family over global fame and celebrates 50 years married next year. I hope he gets to watch reactions like yours from his hospital bed and understands what joy he brings to so many.

I loved how genuine & emotional your reaction was to our beloved John Farnham, I hope you react (or even just listen privately) to a LOT more of his repertoire. His voice & amazing live performances still make me emotional too, & I've been an avid fan of his since I first heard You're The Voice in 1986 - it changed my life! I've been lucky enough to go to a number of John's concerts over the years, & he was always incredible. He has always had such a magical magnetic charismatic presence, while also being very humble & self-deprecating & funny. Australia has been blessed with his talent & charm for decades; we are SO lucky! ♥

This man is so adored here in Australia. He is simply amazing. 💕💕

I'm a fan of the Beatles that we're the ones to write and do this song originally. This is the 2nd cover I've heard of it, and its the first time I've heard this particular version by Mr. Farnham. (The first cover I heard was by Tina Turner) I must admit that this version is far better than Tina's and I actually enjoyed it more than the Beatles version. And for me to say it was better than the Beatles is saying quite a lot. Thanks very much for uploading this.

John Lennon stated this was how the song was meant to be sung but at the time their producers decided they were better off singing it the way they did.

I grew up with Beatles, but even in the young age didn't like the original version, for me the lyrics just didn't mash with tempo, making it lightweight and superficial. John's interpretation is perfect , it gives lyrics the soul and gravitas they ment to have.

Bar George Harrison, I never rated the beetles 🤷🏼‍♂️. I appreciate their influence on the music scene but I never actually understood their high rating. Just shows how different people hear different sounds. I guess it would be boring if we all liked the same things😀

Never heard this version... splendid!

You should also listen to him singing "You're the Voice" from the same concert. It is mindblowing powerful, and is one of the reasons why he is called "The Voice".

I tear up every time I see this performance - at least 15 times by now. I feel so blessed to have seen John perform live around 9 or 10 times between age 12 and 47 - he is and always has been the greatest Australian live performer - his voice, his generosity, warmth and humour. The connection with us, his audience, is like no other. We just adore him and his immense talent.

John always puts in a hundred percent, This concert was great you should have a look, I particularly love it’s a long way to the top he performed before Help,and by the way that was the last song at the concert

It was the other way around. It's a Long Way to the Top was sung in the encore after Help and was the last song at that concert.

John Farnham´s voice is outstanding! For me one of the best live performance by John Farnham. Suggestion: Another great singer "Sharleen Spiteri" 👍

It's also amazing that at this particular concert, he sang 3rd encore after this one. His vocal endurance was incredible.

John is a consummate entertainer. He gives 110% when he performs live. He is a great Australian artist who can grasp most genres. He also does duets from time to time. You need to react to his duet with Olivia Newton John sing Please Don't Ask Me from The Main Event; as well as, with Jimmy Barnes singing When Something is Wrong With My Baby from Jimmy's Soul Deep album.

Best thing ever to come out of Australia!... OK, the Amber nectar is pretty good too👌😀

um "Angels" actually!😄 I agree. I prefer the live version he did with his backup singer Lisa Edwards, personally, as it is more raw, and shows John's sense of fun and humour!

John Farnham is a music icon here in Australia, can I also suggest Crowded House - Don't Dream it's over (official video) another Iconic Australian/New Zealand Band..

Great reaction Morenikeiji! I think John gets a great deal with this song, I mean, the public pay their money and turn up to watch him sing. Instead, the public sing and he can just watch from the stage lol..! John Farnham is one of Australia's favourite singers, and for good reason. A suggestion for a next Farnham song, a duet with Jimmy Barnes 'When something is wrong with my baby', perhaps the live version from Hey Hey it's Saturday if you can find it in youtube.

The best Beatles cover (performance) I can think of is Alanis Morissettes performance of Dear Prudence. Los Lobos took on the challenge of Tomorrow Never Knows, and with impressive results. Those are the 2 best that come to mind.

Fun fact. The Beatles themselves said Farnham’s version was how it was meant to be sung but they were pressured to make it a fast beat pop song. Lennon and McCartney both loved Farnham’s rendition. Queen approached Farnham before anyone else to be their new lead singer.

@@PjRjHj exactly. Farnham was absolutely loved by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, he’s sung with Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion. He was the first person Queen approached to be their new lead singer. He is one of only a few tenors in the world that can sing A5-G5 in full chest voice without falsetto.
