What Does God Want Me to Do?

Ойын-сауық

Father Mike Schmitz offers some clarity regarding God’s will in our lives. He directs us to the story of Israel’s desert wanderings in the Old Testament and the Annunciation to Mary in the Gospels, describing how even the tribes of Israel and Mary had to be content with the uncertainty of God’s will at times. Father Mike also teaches how we can discern God’s will even in the silence.

"God's never going to ask you to make decisions based off what you don't know." THANK YOU. I needed to hear this so bad. I keep thinking of myself in all these different careers and going after different vocations in my life, but some of the things are things that I really have no knowledge about. Knowing that I'm right where I need to be and that God will introduce to me anything that He wills for me is like a load off of my chest.

I also found this line very powerful. Sometimes I fear the lessons of god, who where quite painful for me. Yet to be delivered and to trust is the definition of faith. Very helpful.

Rim Bel Prayer is more of a way to talk to God. There isn't a specific way to pray to God. Everyone communicates differently. You can pray to him out loud, in your head, or through a journal. If you pray out loud, the devil can hear your prayers, so it's important to keep that in mind. You don't have to talk to him in a fancy Elizabethan or Shakespeare English. Talk to him like you would talk to a father. You can vent out your feelings to God. Like for example, if you ever feel sad, lonely, or anxious. You can tell God how you are feeling and tell him why you are feeling this way. If you want to ask God for something then always end the prayer with "In Jesus name, Amen" because anything you ask in the name of Jesus, God the father will give it to you if it's his will. For example, let's say you want a new pair of shoes. You can pray like this: Dear God, I love you so much. Can you please give me money to buy me a new pair of shoes? In Jesus name, Amen. If you seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. Meaning if you have been reading the bible and praying to God and it's Gods will for you to get these shoes, he will give you the money through someone else so you can buy a new pair of shoes. By the way, I noticed you mentioned that you live in an Islamic country and that you are hiding your faith. I will recommend for you to pray to God everyday and ask him to protect you and keep you safe but remember to ask it in the name of Jesus. You should also ask God to not make anyone in your country find out that you are a Christian so you can be safe. As for the church thing. Since there aren't any churches in your area. You can watch church sermons on KZread or on a podcast. I will recommend for you to watch Elevation Church. They upload church sermons on KZread and on podcasts. You should look them up. You should also watch TD Jakes on KZread as well. Lastly, I will like to recommend for you to watch these youtubers, they can teach you a lot about the bible and God in general. You should watch Ieva F, Heather Lindsey, and Girl Defined on KZread.

Rim Bel , I told God how I love African parrot and asked him if I can have one in heaven because it's very expensive here. It's around $2000 and two weeks later a African parrot flew to my house and stay with me. I bought a huge cage for it to stay in and I made a mistake by giving it away because my dad died and I got depressed. Until this day I still heart broken over it.

bummer beavis No this guy is not pagan. He is a believer in Christ, he just chooses to be apart of the Catholic denomination. Christians need to stop being so caught up on Protestant vs. Catholic. God doesn't care about the denomination, he cares about the relationship. He showed me that it's the relationship with him that you can only get through salvation that matters, not what denomination someone is. Everyone in the body of Christ (meaning everyone who is saved in general) need to stick together regardless of our denomination. Don't let the devil divide us! Especially in these last days! BTW I'll like to add that Catholics call the priest "father" out of respect. They are not calling the priest "father" to compare him to God who is our Heavenly Father. Obviously they know that God is above the priest and any human being in general.

It’s thanks to her, and the providence of God that I found my priest and was able to become catholic. She herself has now pondered often on become catholic herself. Jesus wasn't a catholic, you don't need to follow it, just HIM and read the new testament, you don't need a religion jesus was against religion, it was religious people that sent him to be assassinated, Jesus is the end of religion thats why the religious leaders were threatened.

@@GrantJolanta “I came not to abolish the law but to fulfill it.” (Words from Jesus Christ). Also it was not religious people but all of our sins that crucified Christ. Which includes you as well as me. We all are responsible for His death. Look at the early church fathers. You’ll see that they put the New Testament together. Before the New Testament existed the church had oral tradition. You are falling pray to scrupulosity towards words such as “catholic”. You are letting it become a stumbling black the same way the Sabbath was a stumbling block for the sinful Pharisees. Catholic means “ universal church” that’s all. It means “Christians from all nations” if you will. Every Christian is in danger of spiritual pride. It’s not exclusive to Catholics. Also, look into the Eucharist. Jesus clearly states in John chapter 6 that He is not being symbolic. It’s because of Christ’s true presence in the Holy Eucharist that I became catholic. Look into Eucharistic miracles. You’ll see that what I say is true. I know you wrote me with love & the intention of helping my soul. Know that I write to you in the same manner. Before you dismiss what I’ve written, I beg, that in the spirit of charity, you’d look into the church fathers & information on the Eucharist, especially Eucharistic miracles. Do it with prayer & fasting. Let your research be led by the Holy Spirit, not your emotions, since Satan can manipulate our feelings. May the precious blood of Jesus shield you from the enemy & draw you ever closer to His most Sacred Heart ♥️.

Helena, I feel you, chica. This was me for the past two years. please know that God is not going to make you do anything you don't want to do. You have free will! You have a choice! Something that has really helped me is viewing my relationship with God as an adventure. You know how you might make plans with friends or family to go on a road trip, but unexpected things come up that might not be the most fun? Despite those unexpected hiccups, when you get home, you can ultimately conclude that those hiccups probably made the ride even more worth it. God wants us. No matter what. You're not going to mess up your vocation, and it's more likely than not that God is not going to reveal to you what your entire life will look like overnight. Give it all to God no matter what.and let Him use you for whatever He needs. Bless you!

William Gratchic please do not give up! The lord is with you, even when we are suffering. Here are 2 videos from father Mike as well, talking about why bad things occur in our lives, and the meaning of suffering: Why does God allows bad things to happen kzread.info/dash/bejne/YoKDtrdql5PAaNo.html The meaning of suffering kzread.info/dash/bejne/poZml8qkaLG8mdI.html I hope these videos will be of help to you. And by the way, I think it is better for you to find help from your local priest, or other people you trust if you are being abused, because that seems to be very serious😰 God bless

I realize this is an old video but it came up today at the perfect time. Father Mike, I remember watching this is 2015. And now today, again. I have to tell you that this video is anointed. I felt as though you were looking right at me and that we were sitting having a visit. Thank you so much for reminding me that all through these years and now and in the future, that very truly God is here, with me and deep down, I KNOW what He is saying to me. Follow, just follow. I have got this.

Great video, Fr. Mike! I have strongly felt God leading me down the path to become a pilot this past year, and am currently wrapping up training for my Private's, but after the first week or so I discerned that I wasn't cut out for this kind of career. Since then, training has been very hard because I feel like I don't know what do do next after I leave home. Your video opened my eyes up to the very simple truth that we just have to wait for God and be content with uncertainty, regardless of how disconcerting it may feel. God bless you and your ministry!

I'll give you the short answer, first answer attachment to sin is when we allow ourselves to entertain the thought of whatever the sin is and then we act on it. To break from it and this is the only way is to build your life around prayer because the enemy can stand it and it will leave you.
