So basically patlands are older plateaus just in comparison like old fold mountains is aravallis range and Young fold mountains is Himalayas range

Not at all dear, the Deccan lava was formed around 60 65 mya, so patlands have to be younger than it. Patlands are formed when harder surface rock is surrounded by softer rocks
