The caption says it was the first flight. Obviously the plane was a bit more sensitive in pitch than he expected, but he adapted quickly. Since it was during takeoff he had plenty of thrust. No real danger.
@krbosak11 жыл бұрын
1. It's about wing loading, airfoil stall characteristics and power loading. 2. The larger the easier because of size of turbulent cells i roughly characterised by air density 3. I have maidened 20 between 1 and 6kg, and those 6kg were an order of magnitude more expensive than this one (UAVs).

The larger the plane the more stable it may be but certainly not easier to fly. If you watch the video you will see this plane has ailerons, elevator, rudder, flaps, throttle and 4 leading edge slats, how many controls does your UAVs have. I build UAVs for a living and I know how easy they can be to fly. I also build and fly large warbirds and sailplanes and I know how much more is involved in flying them.

Hi Dušan, I know you made this plane long ago. Nowadays I am making a Lysander too in 1/5 scale and I have some doubts about the construction of the wing: Which profile are you using? Is it a clark Y? Did you use wash out? How many degrees? Thank u very much. Best regards from Valencia, Spain. Juan Suay.

Krzysztof, do you even know the definition of dynamic stall? And when you have flown a model in the weight range of this, not 1-6kg then I think you have a right to judge. I fly a model that is close to 12kg and there IS a difference in flight characteristics compared to models of 1-6kg. This gentleman did a great job in both craftsmanship and flying, this was not his first rodeo.
@krbosak11 жыл бұрын
BS. 4:49 to 4:52. This maneuver invites dynamic stall. Doing it while banked would be a guarantee for a corkscrew if not the fact this particular Lysander is so light and forgiving that it didn't happened. He got away only because the platform has such a huge wing chord and mild wing loading. This part of video is demonstrating total lack of feel of airplane dynamics vs elevator action. I would crash 50% of my UAVs flying like this only because of airframe properties.
@krbosak11 жыл бұрын
"Post a vid on your best flight" I did, but, if somebopdy tells you he saw a drunken driver, if you ask merely for commentator driver's licence a fist would land on you face. My planes are ten times more complicated than that, since they use custom-build autopilot spo the chances of failures and risks are hunderd times more. I cannot imagine anybody spending so much time on Lysander without making smaller mockup and learning to fly - this is a schoolboy syndrome that must be rooted out early.
@krbosak11 жыл бұрын
When I am piloting, 95% of landings are MUCH better. And I fly occasionally. Maybe because I was apprentice pilot glider.
@krbosak12 жыл бұрын
Too much working on the elevator. It flies sinusoids, makes impression of a pilot testing if he still has the rudder. yes you have it, man and stop disturbing the plane when it flies. The whole landing approach should be made with throttle work not with elevator. It is sometimes unclear if the pilot will hit the ground with pitch 0deg or -10 deg. When I see gas plane flown like this I am cautious, when I see such amazing plane flown like this I see disrespect for the builder's work {his own}.
