Maybe a few words for the first flight. The rudder throw were partly 80% too big. After a short time, one receiver has failed, bad antenna installation. when Gear pull in, 11 Kg move backwards. it is a self-construction, we only calculated the center of gravity.

FOB1449 what engines is she running ? Also, for safety reasons, I'd move the axle back on that trailer about 12" (30.5 cm). Otherwise you'll likely get trailer sway.

When I was stationed in Germany in the 1970’s, my landlord Herr Mohr was like a 2nd father to me. He was always very mild mannered and the nicest person you would ever want to meet. One day he showed me his 3 Iron Crosses. I was amazed. One of them was from his time in JU88’s. I was even more amazed. Now I can see what he flew. You have resurrected a part of flying history. Awesome.

I guess knowing the standard wing profile taken from the library and used for the wing, as well as knowing the centroid, one could calculate aerodynamic forces and moments. In 1990 our special class gained experience in measuring air pressure on a straight rectangular wing with symmetric profile in ЦАГИ. We also calculated spars. You should be able to draw performance graphs and have clear expectations :).

Congratulations, what an achievement! A very successful maiden and trim flight. It was awesome to watch the plane get smoother and smoother with each pass as Franz began the trimming process. He is a brave man, there are not many of us that would have the nerve to take off after seven years of hard work and with no idea how the plane will react! The model is superbly crafted and looks amazing. Klaus did an awesome job with the paint. There were times in the video when it looked very much like the full scale version. Great job on the video Horst! You captured the event perfectly and it was amazing to watch the different emotions that followed the flight and landing of this amazing aircraft. Even the trailer is a work of art! What a magnificent airplane this is... and a scary event the maiden flight for such a valuable plane. Went amazingly well considering all the trimming needed... a 'puckering' flight though! Flaps looked rather small and landing was nail-biting but, safe thank goodness. Epic video Horst. :)

_Hi Chris. Thank you for the compliments._ There was some difficulty moments and a lot of trimming was necessary. Still some setups has to be done. If you consider that the CG changes enormously at gear up and gear down, because of 11kg movement, you will understand how tricky it was. _Cheers, Horst_

I followed this project for a while, major problem of CoG was dropping the wheels, which caused shift of CoG by 16 Kg (8kG each wheel) nby just over half a Meter...) I do not know how they finaly handle that change of CoG, but i definitely will ask...

Yes I saw that, I use to fly large scale and I could see the nose was dipping hard, he probably was on the up elevator a lot and the up trim maxed out, that’s one of the reasons it came in so hot on the landing. However it’s a thing of beauty.

I don't know Franz nor do I know his models, but I can only fully support this last message. Nobody will oppose positive criticism however most of the negative comments posted here were simply bitching and moaning full of enviosness. And again the trolls have found their way to instill the refugee topic - congratulations, I hope you feel proud! Anyway, my highest respect for the results of a breathtaking project shown here and congratulations to the team who accomplished this. many happy landings to y'all - this definitely has been one!

Allzeit guten Flug !
