Thanks for all the "constructive" comments. Re prop, it is a 3 cylinder radial so there are 3 compression points I can select when starting- depends where the prop is and if I want to "flick" from there or rotate to the ten past seven position. The u/c is level, believe me, but the flying site is not. The covering is poor re wrinkles and needs to be sorted. agreed. This will be done when the rest of the scale detailing is done- just wanted to get into the air asap. Also agree re the spinner which is the factory supplied piece of crap. I am thinking of going to a 3 bladed prop so it will be replaced then.

What a superb model of the Westland Lysander,Black Horse engineers have created some practical model's of difficult to build subjects that really fly well and this is no exception, love the motor combination it sounds so smooth too,for those who say it is vibrating they have never operated a radial engine ! thats they way they sound,so good to see it flown scale like too on very appropiate turf to how the real thing operated during WW2,the undercarriage looks nice and rugged ideal for such operating conditions Black Horse thought that out well too, regarding the Oracote covering all that has happened is it has slackend coming from the factory where it was not tightened up bi-laterally with even heat application, the ladies that do the covering can knock the socks of us chaps doing scores every day and have since corrected the application,to rectify dampen a cloth and pull tight across the chord and apply the iron in large strokes lightly gliding the iron over the surface, avoid heat gun with Oracover, simples. Thanks to the maestro on the camera our one and only Mr Tbobborap who can achieve such steady work on our behalf.

cheers G, clive is our club membership secretary & display rep of 20 yrs standing and this flying site is hired from the ministry of defence and only used around 12 times a year, not only does he have to deal with their bureaucracy (bloody hard work sometimes) but he also cuts and prepares the strip for us all, great guy and has been waiting ages for me to film his baby for him, hope to catch her again next time,

We are all blessed if we have people like Clive in our lives. There aren't many who are that devoted and they deserve recognition and thanks. I'm glad he has such a beautiful plane to fly.

yes your right G without these guys the club would fold, also another member called john our power rep cuts, rolls, and prepares our main field and often refuses help, our chairman and treasurer have also been serving 20+ yrs (amazing) and our secretary is not at all well but carries on his club duties, we have 115 ish members but you'll only ever see the same 10 or 15 face's down the patch every wkd (strange that) unless we have a bbq event, enough yapping got to go and service Sheila ;-o

That has got to take a lot of nerve and experience. I'm still learning how to handle the electric trainers and it seems like every time I take it out something new happens. I like your skills. Maybe I'll be able to work with the gas engines someday. Great flying Capitan...

I have been tempted to buy this ARF myself, more than once, now I have another bloody reason to want one....Thanks Very Much from the bottom of my empty wallet. Reading the comments is hilarious, but ALL the ney-sayers can be silenced by referring them to 3:00 - 7:28. During this section of video, I see no vibration issues, no wobbly pilot, no uneven ground making the thing look lop-sided, even though axles, wing leading edge and stabilizer are all in alignment. It's square, but that's what you get filming and flying on the side of a hill....the pilot more than likely has one leg longer than the other to compensate for the forced tilt...... Funny how when she is sitting ready to take-off, ALL the wrinkles in the covering are invisible too........SHE LOOKS GREAT IN THE AIR, that is ALL she needs to do and this bird does that in spades.....and the rest can be cleaned up overtime as the owner/pilot said he was going to do. Sounds AWESOME too, but does need a dummy engine in the cowl, even though that lovely Saito looks so nice at home in there.

Very Nice bird! Setting one up now, did you find the Saito had plenty of power for this massive bird? Have seen a few with 2-stroke bangers and can not come close to the beautiful sound of your combo. Nice job
