Actually, I have to thank YOU, because thanks to your video I decided to buy my first RC-toy. Yesterday I spend the whole day searching on the internet for a Easy Star RTF. Since it seems not to be available anymore, I ended up ordering a Bixler V1.1... I think that one will work to get me started in this amazing and beautiful RC world Thank you again!

I was kind of surprised by the bird's determination!! Even the fact that he chases a "bird" maybe 10 times his own size!

That bird needs to be fined $10,000 for endangering an aircraft.

Check out my comment above. He did get on the Bird's 6 at 5:52 but overall I agree. He yielded his 6 to the birds. And then boom at 7:45 he pulls a real maneuver, had he not kept that stuff up his sleeve he could have used the planes superior power/weight ratio to over come the birds agility

Airsoft m249 gearbox, hop up and barrel nestled in the nose would take care of that bird. Although this pilot did a horrible job of flying. He yielded his 6 to the bird for most of the video

That is a really thrilling effect. It was like I was in that plane, and able to look around me, -so it was more like a 'first person experience' ! (Vicarious.) Interesting expression there. Remember when people used to experience things first hand ? Now we just seem to want a virtual experience so we don't have to suffer the inconvenience (of being mangled-up in a real airplane crash, in this case !) Great footage. Quite extraordinary.

That video is jsut brilliant, you get the feeling you are actually riding shotgun with the pilot. Love the wind noise when flying upwind only for it to drop when you downwind. Love it

Highly impressed at the birds ability to match the climb rate. The bird is clearly more maneuverable. Climbing right hand turn at 5:52 won you the bird's 6 and that was the only instance of it. 7:45 Another Bird Strike while a second is seen flying lower (multiple bogies), and right after that incident you pull a very nice maneuver. The whole time I thought the plane wasn't capable of anything like that. If you had used randomized spinning dives like that paired with aggressive sweeping climbs over and over you likely could have used the planes power to weight ratio to overcome the birds agility. Over all it seemed you were reserved and the birds won the day.

Also the GoPro quality is excellent, with your pan & tilt it really lends a sense of being in the cockpit of the little foam plane! Really well done !!

Bird may have been hit by the prop but yea nothing major. An EDF jet would be safer

Oh man, this is great ! Your color scheme and quiet plane made that bird sure he could harrass you away like they do all the big birds. This is great too because you left the audio untouched (I prefer it that way) - we are riding on the nose getting whacked left and right hearing the bird give us hell !!

Thank you for the nice comment! I made an opening in the fuselage just under the wings, where I have the VIDEO TX battery, and the main battery is as far back as possible, then with some elevator trim and loads of thrust everything works pretty good!! Greetings...

Plovers will do the 'Broken Wing Act" also....Amazing to see. many birds do it, Ruffed grouse, ect. Great to see

Very cool first person pilots view on flight. Were you wearing glasses with headset to hear the actual sound as well or just straight video screen with speakers on controls? Great flying BTW, I liked that split S maneuver you did but wasn't sure if that was enough to evade the bird. It looked great from that perspective. Wasn't sure if you throttled back when you heard the bird getting close to not hurt the bird and your equipment but I'm glad there were no losses! Thanks for great footage.

Thank you!! I have no idea if birds are influenced in any way by RF signals, but in this case it was all about the bird protecting his nest, that was in the field close to where I took off.

I saw a couple of fly-bys but no bird attack. Nice setup though. Looks like your vertical panning servo has a bad gear tooth, but left and right is great. Nice setup! I have an Easy Star with an ArduPilot but no FPV. Looking forward to adding that someday. For now just what I can record with a GoPro. What FPV setup are you using? Are you working with a screen or glasses?

have you ever thought of somehow attaching an airsoft bb gun turret to the plane. you might need a co pilot to do the actual shooting but it wont hurt the bird if it does hit it and even if it doesnt it would still be cool to get video of that too. great video dude.
