Another Weird fighting games done, feels good. This video was a lot to fun to make and to be able to shine a spotlight on the community means a lot to me. I really respect the people who stick to the games they love and the STF community love their game. I'm also a big sonic fan so to be able to make a sonic fighting game video was like the best of both worlds. This video could've been out a week ago but life got busy after TMJ with evo and IRL stuff but with each video I make I can see how I grow as a video maker. Take the Melty Retrospective for example that video took everything form me to make but now I can do entire months worth of content and 20+ minute vids like it's nothing. For my next video I want to do something Tsukihime b/c I miss talking about type moon (It's been 1 video). I'm also going to do that Xrd vid and melty balance 2 on Roa himself because I expect him to get nerfed next patch, I hope you look forward to those. I can't not mention that the sub and view count keeps growing and again I can't say thank you enough times. Other than that thanks for reading like always, I hope you enjoyed the video and I hope you have a good relaxing weekend/week I truly apricate you all. I'm going to go play some persona 4 and Castlevania Portrait of Ruin

I really like AM2's flat-shaded polygon look from this era, it especially works well for Sonic characters, art-style wise I find it the most appealing looking 3D Sonic game period.

Honestly I’d like to see something like this again. It has a lot of potential especially with modern technology.
This was my first ever fighting game bro omg! The hours I spent with fam fighting each other in this was insane!

Yeah I loved playing this with the family as a kid. This and Mortal Kombat are the reason why I got into fighting games so big ups to sonic the hedgehog and his fighters
I have so much nostalgia for this game, I remember playing this on the xbox 360 over and over again alongside others. Of course only the demo versions cuz you don't really got money like that when you 5 XD

I feel you! I played so many demos back during the Xbox live days. Back then a $20 game seemed like such a big investment. I kind of miss them ya know? We’ll still get a demo here and there for a game but it’s usually relegated to pre-orders nowadays, unfortunately.
This is one I’ve been waiting for - always wondered what this game was like after I heard sonic in smash has a few moves based on this game. Intrigued to see what you found!

The only move smash sonic and fights sonic share are his forward smash. I like sonic more in this game because he’s got cooler moves.
Nice video! I remember playing the Xbox 360 version, it was easy to pick all the game's achievement.

I accidentally got all of the achievements when I got the game on ps3 it was surprisingly easy. Thanks for the comment.

That’s a weird coincidence! Idk why but after TMJ it was like this game was calling to me to make a video on it. I feel like a lot of people share the same sentiment about it, hopefully I can get new people to check it out.

@@Drzuul maybe everyone is getting a sudden nostalgia urge! I'd really like it if the game was ported to modern hardware, even if it's just porting the PS3 version. Would be fun to run some sets with friends to decide who buys dinner

@ilypo with the release of the sonic origins collection. I don’t think it would be too unlikely. Sega loves to milk sonic and there’s tons of sonic games that are non-modern systems and this is one of them.
Really good video, I played this game once at a local forever ago and found it pretty fun but haven't delved much into it since. Maybe I ought to at least mess with it a little.

It’s worth a quick look at. A lot of 3D fighters from back then were pretty interesting with all of the experimental stuff they’d try. It’s a shame that 3D fighters today are non existent outside of tekken, soul caliber and DOA.

@@Drzuul Yeah admittedly 3D games in general I need to delve further into, the vast majority of my FG experience is 2D stuff. 3D game I've played the most is probably F/UC, but even then it's barely even 3D as much as it's just more or less an anime fighter that happens to feature sidestepping.
Sucks that SEGA never gave this thing another try. I guess you could mention Sonic Battle on the GBA but that's not exactly near what Sonic the Fighters was.

If you look at the intro screen again when egg man is on screen it says “revenge of Dr.Robotonic” instead of Robotnik, pretty funny
