Episode 13 - Fate/Tiger Colosseum (フェイト/タイガーころしあむ)
Last year I covered the fantastic Fate/ Unlimited Codes. However, this game isn't the only Fate/stay night fighting game around! So in this episode we return to the Fate series for a fighting game that is anything but normal.

Type-Moon June Marches onward! I'm glad I didn't cover this game last year because I was really able to dig deep and enjoy the game for what it is while not comparing it to it's older brother. The story modes in this game remind me a lot of Kagetsu Tohya, I didn't cover them all but I assure you they were quite funny. I had a lot of fun editing this episode one specific joke, you probably know the one. I'm honestly shocked how fast I was able to put this together, I ran into a fair few creative blocks along the way sometimes it's hard to find the words you're looking for. Also I really like Saber Lion if you couldn't tell. Anyway enough rambling form me I've got to work on the next episode. Thanks for watching, liking, commenting and reading. I totally underestimated this one. It Really is a lot of fun. If it unironically got a sequel to make things crazier and improved the gameplay it would be amazing. That would never happen but hey at least what we have is solid.

@@Drzuul I tried getting netplay to work with this game on an emulator but no luck, would be a very fun party game if playing multiplayer was any easier nowadays. A modern sequel would be sick tbh, maybe even better than a f/uc sequel lol.
Wacky arena fighters like Power Stone and this (plus a couple of others, even Blazblue had a couple of spinoffs in this manner) are truly underrated. Sure, they aren't seen as proper fighters by the "try-hard" side of the FGC but they're fun alternatives to say, Smash-likes and even the Gundam VS-derivatives. Also Kerry finally got his ideal retirement plans realized here; having dinner with his loving wife & child cooked by his adopted son (with Saber joining in on the family dinner as a neat little bonus.)

It’s a niche subgenre in a niche genre unfortunately they don’t get a lot of attention these days. Doesn’t help arena fighters reputation have been ruined by anime cash grabs. I know it’s a looong shot but if capcom made a low budget remake or sequel to power stone it could be a moderate success if they focused on fun first and foremost. It’s nice seeing the characters in a casual setting. I feel the same way about caster, for a minor antagonist they did a good job at fleshing her out so seeing her and souichirou getting to be together and happy is satisfying, even if Assassin isn’t treated the best.
You know what, I wasn't too bothered by Aokonomiyaki but Taiga FUJIWARA? Are you for real?

I’m 100% for real, 200% in fact. It’s a lot like tomato some say it differently depending on their location. In my neck of the woods we pronounce fujimura as fujiwara! Again it’s a tomato tomatoe situation a common misconception!
the idea for saber lion appears in hollow ataraxia without the costume

If there isn’t a lion costume it’s not saber lion. It’s like having an authentic Italian meal by microwaving a grocery store pizza. That’s not Al dente
I remember playing this game way back. That damn theme song is forever stuck in my head! (Are you ready, GO! Are you ready, GO!). Do you, by any chance, remember a Hanafuda game with Fate characters for the PSP? I thought it came together with the limited edition of one of the Tiger Colosseums as a bonus, but watching your video, that isn't the case...

I can't believe Melty Blood Type Lumina included regular Saber when Saber Lion is right there. 🤦🏽♀️ (I know nothing, nor do I care about Fate and/or any of Melty Blood's source materials)
